I agree with past reviewers that if there were 0 stars or negative that is what they would have received from me. The tech was nice and did his job but then came the estimate. They over charged and would not even discuss the charges with me. The owner called me and without even letting me speak decided the good business practice would be to tell me to take my money elsewhere. She preceded to tell me that is just what they do for ahs customers. They had to recoup costs so I guess that is from my back by making up false charges. They were obviously doing something shady if they want you gone as soon as you want explanations on their over charging. So if you are looking to over pay and be treated awful by all means use them otherwise keep looking and do not look back! more

We have ahs too and I am not sure who to be more disgusted with them or Artisan! They are charging us for things that are needed and or we already have. I am ok with letting me know they need to recoup costs but to make stuff up is another matter. The customer service has got to be the worst I have ever encountered. Not only the secretary but the woman owner are very rude and will not to listen to anyone. The owner was yelling at me before I even got a word out. I can not believe this company is still in business! I just wanted to let anyone who is looking for a HVAC company to RUN the other way!!! more

We woke up to a very chilly morning, with the air handler making a very loud noise. I called Artisan Comfort because other people I know have used them, and have been VERY pleased with their service. They were here before 3:00 the same day, fixed the problem, and the heat is working great! Will, the technician, was knowledgeable, professional, and very courteous. Oh! And the charged me over $100 LESS than what I originally quoted by another company! THANK YOU!! more

Worst AC Company in Triangle. Totally incompetent. 11/2/2011

I wish there was ZERO stars for the amount of incompetence and trouble thiscompany caused me and my family. They came to the house 5 times over 2 months. We had to buy a home AC to use to cool our house and camp out in the den because they ""fixed"" it wrong 3 times. They claimed it was the 1st technician who was fired that messed it up, but then the manager came and put the new part on BACKWARDS. It fell off in the middle of the night and no joke, came apart from the furnace and sounded like a freight train. What licensed professional puts a part on half -a&*sed so that it falls off?? They never came when they said they would, and the office said we misunderstood the time. Yeah right. We got another company to come out and take apart their mickey mouse repair and do it properly. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY to anyone looking for comfort. Looking to empty your wallet and have to keep calling, then they are for you. I can't say I'd wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy, 'cos I would. The new guy showed my all the stuff he had to take apart that Artisan messed up. They never passed the inspection and clearly don't even care. What a joke. more

Artisan and AHS Team Up 6/1/2011

I agree with earlier posts for the horrible attitude of lady that responds to questions and concerns. And with scamming on problems that don't exist. AHS sent these guys out to determine a heat problem that I had seen a year earlier - basically a switch connection. Artisan sends out this kid that I wasn't impressed with. He looks at it and says a cracked heat exchange - I tell him I don't think so, he puts arm in with digital camera and says yea look there's the proof. I say - where?\r \r Botton line, I call and ask for another technician. They say no and send their proposed bill of services - many of which are not covered. I call Artisan and the lady starts jerking me around and extremely unprofessional. \r \r AHS tells me that these people have reviewed it and they will not send out another service group. (But that is another whole story!) \r \r I call another heat service and explain the same thing I explained to Artisan about the switch. They have me up and running in 20 minutes. I ask them to come back and do a review of the ""cracked"" heat exchange to be on the safe side. They did and said their were absolutely no cracks.\r \r SCAM! Stay Away! I agree with the guy that posted the comment on the positive reviews. Don't believe them! more

Customer Service and Repair Nightmare 5/31/2011

Here's the rundown on this company: 1. My AC broke within hours of the worker coming out to repair it. When I contacted the company, they said I would have to wait 2 more days for them to come out and look at it again. 2. When the worker came back out to repair it, he admitted that he had installed the blower motor improperly. 3. When it broke again within 2 days of the second repair, I called the company, was told that a senior technician would be out by 8am the next morning. When at 8:20 am no worker had shown up, I called the company. The female office worker proceeded to tell me that someone would be out between 12 and 2. I relayed the message I had received about a technician coming at 8am and the office worker HUNG UP ON ME! I called back and she hung up on me AGAIN! They then had my phone number blocked. Conclusion: this is the absolute worst HVAC company in the area in both customer service as well as actual competency at repairs. Avoid them at all cost. more

Very Satisfied 9/24/2010

They arrived on time, diagnosed the issue, and notified me of the scope of the repair. They completed the repair in a timely manner, and maintained a professional attitude at all times. I would not hesitate to have them perform a service in the future, and am posting this simply because my experience was dramatically d...ifferent that some of other postings for this company. I have no complaints about this company. more

With so many HVAC contractors in the area it's hard to know who to go with. We have had Artisan Comfort Systems work on our unit and we very pleased with their efficiency. Unfortunately, our air went out on us on a very hot summer day, while we had dinner guests. We were so relieved when Dave not only showed up very quickly after our phone call, but also fixed the problem and ""saved the day."" This company is truly reliable and goes out of their way to try to accommodate their customers where possible. They are also honest, so you know what kind of service to expect. It's a relief to have a trustworthy and reliable company to help keep your biggest asset in top shape. Would definitely call Artisan Comfort Systems for any future HVAC services!! more

With so many HVAC contractors in the area it's hard to know who to go with. We have had Artisan Comfort Systems work on our unit and we very pleased with their efficiency. Unfortunately, our air went out on us on a very hot summer day, while we had dinner guests. We were so relieved when Dave not only showed up very quickly after our phone call, but also fixed the problem and ""saved the day."" This company is truly reliable and goes out of their way to try to accommodate their customers where possible. They are also honest, so you know what kind of service to expect. It's a relief to have a trustworthy and reliable company to help keep your biggest asset in top shape. Would definitely call Artisan Comfort Systems for any future HVAC services!! more

Is Artisan writing their own reviews? 7/8/2010

I wrote a review on their lousy performance in July 2010 (see below). Checked back just now (September 2010) out of curiosity to see what their recent feedback has been. One should note that identical, very positive reviews were written by 3 separate users about this company -- on 9/2/2010, 9/7/2010, and 5/28/2008 (,my own review is coming up as an edit of my initial review, hence the July 2010 date. I'm actually writing this in late September 2010). Clearly someone from this company has multiple user names and is posting the same great review under different names. That person lacks, however, the brains to switch the text of the review so that it's not obvious. Beware this company... They'll jack you just like they're trying to jack their Citysearch reviews. They also lack, however, the brains to jack either one correctly. As confirmation that they're cheating, it's worth noting that there are hardly any medium reviews of their company. All either 5's (their reviews of themselves, most likely) and 1's (real customers). As for my actual experience, our AC died in June and we were under AHS warranty, who referred us to Artisan. Guy came out 4 days later despite my telling them that my newborn son was baking in the 95 degree indoor heat. Guy told us the whole system was shot and it would cost probably $1300 to fix. Then he sat in my dining room right in front of me and talked with AHS, repeatedly telling them ""I wouldn't cover it."" Unsurprisingly, AHS then called me and told me they wouldn't cover the repair. I called a different company. They came same day, looked at the system, and told us ""the other guys (i.e. Artisan) are trying to rip you off."" They then fixed it for $300 and now 3 months later, it's still running fine. In summary, Artisan was slow to respond, completely indiscreet about telling our warranty company that they shouldn't pay for our repair (which in principle is fine, but to sit right in front of me and do it? I mean seriously...), and then incorrectly informed us of what needed to be fixed -- at best their guy is clueless, and at worst he was trying to con us into a more expensive repair than we needed. In short, I'd stay far away from this company. Believe the negative reviews and consider the positive ones to be their own efforts to improve their ratings on Citysearch. Unprofessional, abusive and poor quality of work 7/5/2010

I have never written a review about a company;however after my horrible experience with this company I feel compelled to put something on the internet so no one else with experience the unprofessionalism, abusiveness and poor quality of work from Artisan Comfort.. I have AHS warranty and you would have thought I wasn't a paying costumer. According to the owner, if you have a warranty, then you are not their customer, AHS is the paying party. However, they charged me an additional $300 that wasn't covered by the warranty. After researching the additonal charges, I was informed it shouldn't have cost more than $5 for the parts/labor, considering it only would have taken 5 mins. I made a decision to discontinue any work or contact with this company, due to the owner's abusive language, lack of respect and unprofessional behavior. Come to find out I am not the only person who has experienced such poor customer services from Lori Ellis, the owner. If more people write reviews, complain to BBB and make this company's poor services known to the public. than hopefully they will stop abusing their customers and go out of business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Cons: EVERYTHING...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! more

This is the WORST time of year to have a dead air conditioning system. But when our old system died, we had to have a new one. We called Artisan Comfort Systems.\r They gave us a couple of estimates. We chose the system we wanted, and the system was up and running within a couple of days.\r THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! ARTISAN COMFORT SYSTEMS IS THE WORST 8/5/2009

Please do not do business with Artisan Comfort Sytems. I should've read the reviews prior. I had a horrible experience thru AHS with them. The tech came out diagnosed the problem and it took several phone calls to AHS to get the tech to submit the paperwork to AHS for diagnostics to verify if the defective part was covered. The secretary is clueless and you wont get any phone calls back from Artisan. This company charge ridiculous fees that are outside the warranty. I only have a evaporator coil that is bad. Artisan wanted to charge over $600 additional fees outside of my warranty. I called 3 other HVAC companies and they said the extra fees were ludicrous. This company is definitely a scam and I would stay far away from them. Cons: worst hvac company ever more

Highly recommend 6/22/2009

We have used Artisan for over 8 years now and between two different houses. The first house was under American Homeshield and our current home is not. We have had them install two systems at two different times. We also have a preventative maintenance program with them. Every single person I have dealt with in the company has been incredibly friendly and helpful (even during times when they are slammed with calls). I have recommended the company to many of our friends and will continue to do so to anyone who asks. They show up when they say they will and their prices are fair. more
