Horrible dinner and service 5/12/2007

My wife and I left our three kids with grandma for a nice dinner out last night. We've probably been to Andiamos seven times before, but we won't be going back. The waitress was slow and unattentive, she never asked us for pepper for our salads, how our meal was, if we wanted another glass of wine, etc...the things you expect in a nice and moderately expensive restaurant. Aside from bringing the food and bill, no staff visited our table for an hour, they just huddled around the cash register and gabbed (loudly) To top it off, my order was botched, which the waitress blamed on the chef despite the receipt actually docuemented that she entered in the system wrong (eggplant vs. chicken parmesan). Once the corrected and brought me chicken, it was clear the chef rushed it becuase it was seared nearly burnt on the outside and dry and leathery, and in some spots on the inside were not cooked and still pink/soft. At that point I was too fed up to complain and just ate the pasta and veggies so we could leave. All told, we were exceptionally disappointed and won't be going back. Very sad that this one-time-gem in Bellevue has gone downhill so dramatically. Pros: My water was fine Cons: Food and service more

Best Sphagetti Carbonara anywhere on the planet! 2/3/2007

Andiamo has a European ambiance not found in any other restaurant on the Eastside. Delectable Italian dishes are prepared with the utmost professionalism and care, each one tantalizing the discerning palet. Besides their Italian specialties, Andiamo's cuisine also includes with it, a wide variety of tempting seafood plates, a great favorite being their king salmon picante' with angel hair pasta and mixed fresh vegetables. The wonderful food is complimented with a huge selection of the very best red and white wines on the market, from the fruity Primitivos and lusty Chiantis, to the sweetest Chardonnays, Andiamo has a full selection of not only wines, but also beers and mixed drinks. The staff are always friendly and courteous, bringing with them a certain mixed flair of the very best of both traditional and modern culture. Reyes, the owner of Andiamo, and Nancy, a sparkling young lady from Peru, along with the rest of the staff always strives to create a warm and cordial atmosphere for their guests to dine in. I highly recommend this restaurant to all who gain pleasure from great Italian food and the great people who make up Andiamo....a 10! more

You just don't get it 2/3/2007

This lovely little gem in Bellevue is not for those who expect their service to be based on a slickly packaged, never personal and always orchestrated ?drinks first, salad, entree, and out you go?. It?s more a family approach, with warmth and a personality and always wonderful food. Go with patience and an appetite and you won?t be disappointed. Pros: Smoked Salmon Toasts, wonderful Pastas and veal dishes Cons: A bit breezy when the back door is open more

This lovely little gem in Bellevue is not for those who expect their service to be based on a slickly packaged, never personal and always orchestrated ?drinks first, salad, entree, and out you go?. It?s more a family approach, with warmth and a personality and always wonderful food. Go with patience and an appetite and you won?t be disappointed.\r \r My absolutely favorite thing that I often make my meal of is the Salmon Pugalise Toasts, an amazing bruchetta with herbed mascarpone cheese, capers and the most velvety smoked salmon anywhere. It is comfort and joy and melts in your mouth. The antipasti is consistently a winner: terrific grilled veggies and interesting marinated goodies to eat with the wonderfully rustic artisan bread that is served with high quality olive oil and a perfect balsamic. \r I?ve tasted most everything on the menu and have enjoyed them all. Standouts are the off the menu lamb; better than Daniels. Served alongside gorgonzola gnocchi and tender crisp Italian veggies, the double chops are generous and crispy out while juicy in. YUM. Don?t miss the eggplant parm, any of the veal dishes and the beautifully toothy pastas with outstanding sauces. \r They have a limited bar, an ambitious wine list, and a really nice dessert offering. I?m often too full for a sweet, but the consistently welcoming and hospitable treatment I get is all I really need. Tell Nancy hello, and take the time to trully savor a terrific meal. \r Should you want the usual package, go to the Cheesecake Factory. Pros: Smoked Salmon Toasts, wonderful Pastas and veal dishes Cons: A bit breezy when the back door is open more

Poor Customer Service 1/31/2007

I totally agree on the reviews about their bad customer service. My girlfriends and I went for a late dinner (around 830pm) and we have to wait for 30 mins even though there are 2 empty tables just in front of us! The servers are so busy running around, and did not even have time to clear the empty tables for us. And when we finally sat down, ready to order, I realised that my fork is still dirty. So I waved my hand at one of the server and she just walked pass by me without stopping! We were so shocked and angry that we just walked right out of the restaurant. What I can say is ""Andiamo should train their servers again!"" Pros: Parking Cons: BAD SERVICE that will definitely spoil your day more

I went with my husband to Andiamo Restaurant last Tuesday for the first time. We had heard wonderful things about this little restaurant, although I was confused about some of the reviews in this site. Anyways we were intrigued and decided to give it a try. \r \r I had the best Salmon I ever had in my life. It was cooked in a delicious lemony sauce and served with pasta and vegetables in a light olive oil finish. My husband had a mushroom risotto that was also yummy. Everything on the menu looked very tempting; it was very hard to pick. \r \r We were also impressed about their extensive selection of wines, many of those sitting on a central antique table that made for a striking piece of decoration. \r \r We had a wonderful time and are plannig to visit again. Honestly, I think that this is a true gem in Bellevue, very different from the chain restaurants we are all accustomed to these days. It has personality, so I say go for it!\r \r HS Pros: Food, Parking, Ambience Cons: Sometimes slow more
