I would not advise anyone to got threw this insurance company me and my boyfriend got into a wreck and they did not cover any of my bills so now i am in a law suit with them my boyfriend now has a judgement against him due to them not paying and when you try to contact them no one ever returns your phone calls they do not cover anything so now we are stuck trying to figure out how to get his licenses back he lost his job due to this and the accident happened in 2009 and here it is 2012 come on now crazy.... more

I had no problems with this company at all when I reported my accident to them. Everyone I talked to was helpful and courteous and they went out of their way to accomodate me to get me car in for an estimate as my work schedule did not allow me to take my car to one of their places at the times there reps were there. Procedures were clear and the people I talked to were never rude. I am sure it all depends on the nature of the claim how quickly your claim gets resolved. My policy was only a week old when my car got struck and understood why they needed a police report and other docs to process my claim. If you treat people with respect, they will respect you as well. more

This is a horrendous insurance company. Terrible customer service, adjusters do not return phone calls. if you are unlucky enough to be hit by one of their 'insureds' you may want to go ahead and retain a lawyer. Not accredited by the BBB and has C rating. This is the bottom feeder of insurance. more

I read the reviews after I was in a accident with one of their insured. I was mortified after reading the them and ready for a fight. The accident occurred on 2/12/12 and the claims rep Randy Clark stayed in constant contact with me. He kept me updated on what was going on and I didn't have to call him repeatedly to do so. Today, 2/20/12 I received a settlement offer which was fair. I'm sorry everyone else had a bad experience but it was a pretty smooth process for me. more

This company, by far, will be the worse insurance company you have ever dealt with. They will use every trick in the books in order to avoid paying for something or accepting things on its realistic terms. They are not in the business of honoring any claim. You will notice that they, will ignore you, make up information, and find a reason why their insured is not at fault for the accident. I have been in the insurance adjusting business for 6 years and never dealt with a company like this before. Even I a claim adjuster could not work with them in order to get my claims resolved. Worst customer service ever 12/8/2011

I was involved in a car accident with their insured Tuesday...who went over a red light as I was turning left. My truck is totaled & they haven't even tried to contact me I've been the one calling them every single day because I can not get a hold of my adjuster. I hate these people!!! yesterday during one of my attempts to get a hold of someone the person that answered actually told me to call back in 10 min bc she couldn't find my claim number in their system and she needed to take other calls....are you kidding me?!?!? Finally today they tell me they do not provide with rental cars they only reimburse $20 a day. So now I have to pay out of pocket for something that was not my fault & where in the world do they expect me to find a rental for $20 a day??? I think I need a lawyer at this point... more

Absolutely horrible--never get hit by one of their drivers 9/24/2011

American Access is incredibly dishonest--a horrible company to deal with. I was rear ended by one of their drivers on the expressway, doing significant to the rear of my vehicle, striking me so hard that my driver side seat was knocked off the track and rendering my vehicle undrivable. Clearly it was their driver's fault and was stated as such in the police report. Randy Clark was the person from American Access assigned to my claim. It took daily calls and 2 1/2 weeks just to get an estimate, which is much lower than the cost to actually get it repaired. As others have said, they offer $26/hour for labor costs which is about half the Chicago area average. And the kicker: they only offered to pay 80% of the estimate because their driver claimed that I had ""stopped abruptly."" That's funny, I thought it was his duty to maintain a safe distance between his car and the vehicles in front of him. Seriously, how could I have any liability whatsoever when I'm the one who was rear ended? American Access is a dirtbag operation who tries to take advantage of people who don't know their rights. It's what's referred to as a substandard insurance company and often they offer way below the actual cost to fix your car, hoping you will just cash the check and continue driving your damaged vehicle. They will continue doing this until we stand up for ourselves. If you get hit by one of their drivers, get ready for a fight. Once they start giving you crap, file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance here: https://insurance.illinois.gov/applications/ComplaintForms/FormPC.aspx And with the Better Business Bureau on their website. Don't be afraid to take these scumbags to small claims court either--you can do it without having to pay for an attorney. Stand up for yourself and stop American Access from doing this to people. more

Worst insurance company ever 9/9/2011

I was in an accident a few weeks ago. American access made me go all the way to the other end of the city to get photographs taken for my damaged car. They told me that since my car was drivable, no matter how badly damaged it was, I had to drive it all the way out only for photographs. They made me wait a week after this for an estimate. Today they gave me an estimate and asked me to set up an appointment with the same car repair store that has no available appointments for the next 10 days!!!! I wish I had read all the negative reviews here before accepting damage insurance through American Access. Also, if Il Insurance is your provider, do not accept damage insurance with American Access as their services are substandard. Their business needs to shut down. more

Do not waste your time with these people. File through your insurance company get your car fixed and let them deal with the rude, incompetent and frustrating people at this company. My car was hit by their insured. After two weeks of phone calls estimates etc. they offerred my 300.00 towrd a 1600.00 repair bill. Their ""insured "" backed into me in a fast food drive thru. They were closing and she decided to back out instead of waitng like a normal person. unfortuantely she didn't look. When I asked for an explanation for the 300.00. I was told that their ""insured "" said I was pulling in and she was backing out when the accident occurred making it 50% my fault. Well I was not moving and how would she know since she never looked and never stopped until she hit my car. Anyway thankfully I have insurance with Geico and I called them and my car is schedule to be fixed in 2 days, rental car taken care of etc. Done deal. 5 minutes of my time and taken care of professionally and courteously. The rental company called with in 5 minutes of my conversation with Geico to confirm my reservation.also to all you idiot's have some patience, normal people dont back out of drive thru's. more
