Would never use them again. My wife called because we had a toilet clog that I could not clear with a plunger. Did not give an estimate up front. Cleared the clog and then charged us more than it would cost to replace the toilet. Then the plumber tried to sell my wife a new toilet. Stay away. more

My water heater went out around Thursday (10/16), we didn't realize it was a pilot light issue until Saturday night (10/18). I tried to call the company whose sticker was on the water heater, but they didn't answer their phone, so I called Action Plumbing and Heating because I'd heard their commercials and thought they'd be good. I called them Sunday morning, talked to a Mary and she took down my info and said they'd call me with an ETA when someone could come out that day. I never got a call and so on Monday I called them, spoke to a Nicole, and she told me Mary took down my phone number wrong and since they couldn't get a hold of me they cancelled my appointment! She said she would make a new appointment for Tuesday (10/21) between 11-2 (I told them I needed someone before 5 since my husband leaves for class then, but works from home before that), they took down my husbands info since he'd be the one there and they'd need to call him with the status updates. 11:30 they called to confirm we still wanted them to come and said they'd have someone call 30 minutes before they arrive. 1:19 still no call or person! 1:40 they called and said we are next and that they will call again when someone is on their way. 4:47 called and said they are on their way (gotta give them credit for calling, but everything else gets an F-!!) 5:20 hubby has left for class and now I get to deal with them and the guy shows up. I show him our water heater and he doesn't even look at our pilot light or inspect the unit. He tells me right off that it's an old unit and should be replaced (how the hell do you know that when you haven't even touched it?!). I told him it was expected since a few of our neighbors had to replace theirs. He tells me he can replace it for $1400!! I told him that was above the budget my husband and I agreed upon (because we thought anything over $1000 was ridiculous and joked about that!). He said that gave us a great warranty and be top of the line. I told him we found some online for under $300 and he said that was for a version like what we already had and wouldn't last very long. I told him we only needed something for like 5 years since that's the longest we plan on being here and he finally looked at the unit and said since everything is up to code and he could use it all he could take it down to $1100. I told him that was still above our price range and that my grandma got hers replaced for about $600. He said that doesn't seem possible with a plumber. I told him I'd like to get a second opinion. He said he could give us financing for $30 a month. I told him the end result is still over what we wanted to spend and that I'd still like a second opinion. He finally got the hint and left. What a waste of time this company is and I'm so irritated at their lack of professionalism! I will NEVER use them again and I'm definitely letting everyone I know and the internet about my awful experience. Given what I've read it won't be news to this company!!! more

This is the worst company to have work for senior citizens! Do not allow them near your parents.\r They removed 4 item that took 3.5 hours. and charged over 2000.00. Then they told her that the hot water heater was not working right because it was licking and needed to be replaced. This hot water heater was only 2 years old. Had someone come over 15.00 part 30 minutes and now it does not work. more

We had a burst pipe in the basement of our rental condo that caused a lot of water everywhere and damage. Action came out as soon as we called them and got the problem fixed within a couple hours. They even helped coordinate a crew to repair the water damage. more

Horrible service and action m A** Ordered two brand new furnaces plus ac last year during the fall. They came next day and installed. They installed the wrong furnace, didn't bother to plumb exhaust lines to the outside, left electrical cover plates off of switches. Had them come back and fix everything the right way. Well summer is now here, went to turn on the ac and they don't work. Now I am waiting for them to get around to repairing my ac units. Apparently they have all these emergencies and cant get around to mine. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. more

Call someone else, After I paid these jokers $250.00 to diagnose then fix my A/C they did not fix it. They agreed to come back out and look again, but did not show up. Set up a third appt for them to come back out and do what they should have done the 1st time around and they did not show up AGAIN. Called back again and when I asked for a manager and was told if no manager was going to get on the phone on no tech would be to my home I wanted my money back, I WAS HUNG UP ON!!! Dont call these guys, what a joke and waste of my time!! more

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Called in the morning asked for someone to come after 3, was told that I could be put on the schedule for that day and to turn off the unit so it will be thawed out for the tech. At 4:45 got a call to say they were running a little late....8:30 rolled around and we called....all they could say is they dropped the ball. Never calling them again. more

Outrageous prices and Dishonest!\r Wow, I really wish I would have read these reviews before I used Action, unfortunately we were in a tough spot with our frozen pipes, which Action took advantage of and charged us double what any other company would charge. \r We called action because they give free quotes (but charge double) after the city told us it was our pipes that were frozen. The plumber came out Saturday night and told us the first hour would be $510 and any addtnl hour would be $375! (at the time we didn't realize outrageous this really was). The plumber knew I was very hesitant because it was going to be so expensive so he explained that it would take about 15 min to 1 hour to thaw the pipes. We didn't want our pipes to burst so we had him thaw them. The plumber was very nice but unfortunately he never checked to see if the city pipes were frozen before he started, so he thawed our pipes for 5 freaking hours, coming in the house every so often to touch our pipe inside, which was burning up yet we had no water still. finally he decided to check the city pipes which were frozen. The Plumber wrote up our bill and said ""bad news; I'm charging you full price ($1753), good news; its the cities pipes that are frozen. You need to take this to the city and they will take care of it, if you have any problems with them call me and I will help."" The plumber also told us that if the bill were our responsibility he would have only charged us half of that. \r Well after going back and forth with the city we came to realize that our pipes were frozen and the cities froze because of ours. \r Now we were left with this astronomical bill, so I called action plumbing and spoke with Steve Andreason (who is a complete idiot) and expressed what happen and asked that they honor the price the plumber told us he would've charged if we had been responsible for the bill not the city. Steve absolutely refused to work with us on the bill one bit even after I explained that the plumber didn't check the city pipes first, if he had he wouldn't have been out there for 5 hours, in fact he would have known that thawing our pipes would have been a waste of time. I also told him that the plumber told us that it was going to take 1 hour to thaw and it didn't but he kept thawing without asking if we wanted him to keep thawing and that I had checked around with other plumbing companies whose prices were all in the $800-$900 range for 5 hours ( I found Intermtn heating and air that would have charged about $550 for 5 hours) but Steve wouldn't budge. \r All in all their prices are way to high, and they are dishonest! more

DO NOT USE ACTION PLUMBING! Backed up sewer line on a Sunday: charged $700 to clean out. Plumber left crap and other material from sewer line flung throughout walk-in closet, on walls, covering closet door and doorframe, all over carpet, on a body pillow, and boxes (we had just moved in the day before). Machine he used also gouged 2 grooves in our new wood trim on stairs as he dragged it up and down (he refused my husband's assistance). We didn't find all this for a week, since we couldn't go downstairs during cleanup (flood was on other side of basement - no where near sewer cleanout stub). When I finally talked with customer service rep he told me I should have called them, cause they have a service that would have cleaned up. He took no reponsibility for the plumber's lack of professionalism or the fact it shouldn't have happened in the first place. When I asked why the plumber hadn't asked us to move things or take the time to cover things with plastic, he avoided the question and repeated that I should have called and blamed me for waiting so long to contact them. Then he wanted to know if we wanted to cancel our free service agreement.....classless! more

I just heard another one of your commercials. I am getting so tired of hearing ""hot water heater flush"". It is not now nor has it ever been a ""hot water heater"". Why would you heat hot water? Are you making steam? It is simply a water heater. If you do not even know what it is called why would I trust you to service it. Please fix your commercials. more

Never ever again, called Action Plumbing to have sewer line rooted, tech said couldn't fix, didn't make blades that could make turns. Would need to replace whole sewer line for approx $8k. He said he cleared enough roots to stop backup for awhile charged $240 and left. One hour later had sewer water coming into my home. Called Discount Rooter, he came within a hour fixed the problem within 30 minutes, $150 later left with issue fixed. I have been told Action techs work on commission so they want to make as much money as they can. In talking to Action management they gave me 20% off the $240 and offered discount to replace sewer pipe. Totally unacceptable! more

Awful, awful, awful.\r \r I called them on a Thursday morning because my furnace went off. They said they would come during the day, but when they hadn't shown by noon, I called and asked what the time frame was, and they said that they were running very late and that they were ""pushing"" to have us serviced that day. I asked if they were sure they were going to come, because I was going to call somebody else, but they said ""no, we're pushing for today, so we should be there."" At about six they called back and said that they weren't going to make it. I asked if they were sure they were coming, because we'd already frozen our butts off the previous night without a furnace, and they kept saying ""We're pushing for tomorrow."" I asked if there was a chance they weren't coming. They kept saying ""we're pushing.""\r \r The next day they hadn't shown up by three, so I called and asked when they were coming, and they said ""We're running late, but we're PUSHING for today."" By this time I asked if they were positive that they were going to come, because I didn't want to freeze until Monday. They kept insisting that they were PUSHING it, and never even gave me a possibility of them not making it. By five they called and asked what my availability was on Monday, because they weren't going to make it. \r \r So, I wasted two whole days waiting for these guys and they never showed up. I have never seen this lack of professionalism. I can't even believe that they thought I was just going to wait until Monday for them! I said ""No thanks,"" hung up, and called Mountain Air because it was what came first on Google. They came within the hour and fixed the furnace in about ten minutes more
