Indeed a serious company! My problems regarding air in the room where I work have disappeared! All we had to do is to contact the people at the ARS / Rescue Rooter. I was very surprised when I saw how professionally they worked! The best part was that the price for the air conditioning was not exaggerated. I thought it would cost more considering how well they worked ... Thank you for helping me! more

Great work 4/21/2011

I called ARS/Rescue Rooter, after a friend suggested them to me, before that I had a well known company give me an estimate that was very high for fixing a freon leak and recharging the system. The other company said it would take all day and they had to do a lot of tests to find the leak. ARS/Rescue Rooter team found the leak right away, fixed it and recharged my unit for a fraction of what I would have paid the other guys. It was wonderful finding someone who is honest and has great work ethics, will definitely use this company again! more

Do not have doubts when dealing with these guys. You can rely on them, ARS/Rescue Rooter are professionals. I called this company about a month ago because some problems with my air conditioning system they showed on time inspected the problem and in a matter of minutes solved it. I just love watching professionals doing there job. Highly recommended! more

I called this company about a month ago because some problems with my air conditioning system they showed on time inspected the problem and in a matter of minutes solved it. Never Again 12/14/2009

Very nice receptionist made an ""appointment"" for us the very day I called. So, my husband rushed to be home for 3pm. At 3:05, after returning from the reception area at my office, I realized I had missed a call on my cell. I returned the call and was told ""sorry, you missed our call, we can no longer service you today"" I was amazed and asked if no one answered the door. Was told, ""oh we never go until you answer the phone"" I protested, you called only a few minutes ago and the retort was ""it was 5 minutes ago!"" The upshot is: you don't have an appointment even though you are accomodating them by having someone at home. IF for heaven's sake, you don't pick up the phone immediately, you are out of luck. The did offer to reschedule for the next day, but I had already had my fill of ARS. Pros: Nice receptionist? Cons: No follow through more

After the first Tech failed to do anything other than shine thier flashlight around and tell me the problem was not in the plumbing... a third Tech (we requested a master plumber) was dispached and was able to locate the leaks, fix the problems, and was friendly and knowledgeable. Mind you, this has taken place over the past 6-8 months and these problems should have been fixed the first time, causing much less damage to my property. Pros: Communication Cons: Inconsistant quality of work. more

Horrible service 6/22/2009

These people are idiots. I came home from work one winter day sick with the flu to find my heating was out. I called ARS and they promised to have someone out within 2 hours. So after three hours of shivering in my bed being unable to rest, I called them. They had me on the schedule for THE NEXT DAY. When the tech did finally make it out, several hours later, I told him about how dissatisfied I was and he basically shrugged it off. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's how a company compensates for these mistakes that makes them a decent or an incompetant business. ARS clearly doesn't care if their customers are happy as long as they get our money! Pros: Fixed the problem Cons: Idiots run the scheduling more

Advise against Using ARS 5/1/2009

I am not usually one to write a review, but feel like people need to know about this company. I was advised ahead of time that there would be a $79 charge for coming out, then I would be told of any extra charges before the work would be completed. They showed up, took my AC unit apart, and didn't find a problem. After checking around he decided the fan wasn't working, but it had been... the problem was something else. I think he forgot to reconnect the wire in his first round of tests. Anyway, he reconnected a wire, then after he did the work told me there would be an extra $80 charge on top of the service call for reconnecting a single wire. It did not fix the problem because it was not what was wrong. I called and complained, they sent someone out the next day free of charge but would not refund the extra charges for NOT fixing anything. The guy the second day couldn't figure it out and only recomended replacing everything. They charged me service charge + repair and didn't fix anything. Bad customer service and too big of a company with too much overhead to be able to offer decent prices. I advise going somewhere else. more

ARS Service 4/27/2009

I have been using ARS for a few years now. I read the other reviews this morning because they popped up when I searched for the phone number. I had used the plumbing service to have a leaky faucet repaired a few months ago. ( I highly recommend anyone with a leak of any kind to get it fixed immediatly because when we did we saved hundreds of dollars on our next water bill!) Anyway ,I went to use it this morning and I could not turn it off. I called the phone number which connected me to dispatch and they were here in about an hour and a half. The work was completed and there was no additional charge. I know it is frustating to have work done, pay good harded earned money and then have problems with the work. But I think sometimes we blame the first person we talk to and get mad at the situation and our anger escalates from there. I think if we all take a moment and realize we are all human and we all make mistakes it will give you insight to be kind to the people trying to help you and then inturn you help yourself and improve the outcome. more

MORONS 8/30/2008

This is the most incompetent company I have ever delt with. They over chaged for an unfinished job I had to contact another company to actually fix my problem. I fought with them over the charges and paid when we reached an agreed apon amoun. Then I recieved a letter requesting payment which I already paid so I call the number and left a message. They never called me back. I have now recieved a second letter saying they are going to send me to collections for non payment when I already paid the morons. Cons: THEY ARE ALL STUPID FROM SERVICE MEN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS more

Unresponsive customer service 7/19/2008

I will never use or recommend this company again. They have inexperienced staff but great salespeople. Once you pay for the system they are unresponsive to phone calls if you have a problem that costs them to repair even though the salesman does a great job of helping you feel they have great customer service and will fix any problems they create. I never write reveiws, however this is unbelieveable. I have no idea how the company stays in buisness. I have tried to reach customer servide to explain a few problems. I never get a return calls even though I leave my name and phone number. I even tried to speak to other managers with no returned phome calls. I certainly paid for the service and expected ARS to be accountable as their mission statement states. I see by other reveiws that I am not alone regarding my negative experience. I wish I had known other people were unsatisfied with this company. My salesman told me if I wanted extra work that they have an individual he contacts at the city of Austin to perform the inspection. I should have realized then something was very wrong with the company's business practices. I hope this reveiw helps others looking for an air conditiong company. Cons: Cusomer service is non- existant to follow up on problems. more

Did not fix problems and customer service is awful 7/11/2008

The repairmen who came to our home were very nice. The quality of the work was pretty bad. We had numerous problems with the installation and we paid for the top of the line units. Working with the customer service rep was a nightmare. What ever happened to the customer is right and standing behind your work. Things as simple as returning phone calls and fixing mistakes did not happen. We bought the system believing ARS stood behind its work. The sales man was really good at convincing us we would be satisfied but we are not. I will never use this company again and would never refer anyone else to ARS. more
