BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.....................was quoted 1000.00 for an MRI, drove 770 miles to get there and the price went up to 2500.00. this place should be shut down by the Better Business Bureau. If you think they care about your pet, they don't, do not be DECEIVED......All that matters here is the almighty dollar. I got my dog out of their as quick as I could. Their is great confusion among the staff. the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I am completely disgusted by this place. I wonder who is running this facility. WHAT A JOKE! more

Completely taken advantage of.........\r On sunday I had an emergency with my 11 week old pup. He broke his leg. I took him to VCA in FV. After exam they told me it was an elbow brake and would cost $4200 to fix. I was devastated as I did not have that kind if money. I decided to take him home and go to my vet the next day. They recommended I keep him there overnight because then I was told it was a shoulder brake and they could not immobilize him. After negotiating like I was buying a car it went from $1000 to $600 to cover what was already done and to keep him overnight. The next morning when I went to get him I had to wait 20 minutes while they IMMOBILIZED him. WHAT! Yup, they put a very nice splint and bandage on him which stayed until Tuesday when he had the surgery. I went straight to pet vet in HB, the estimate was $800. I felt so taken advantage of in such an emotional time by VCA. If you can avoid it at all stay clear of VCA, HB pet vet has Saturday and Sunday hours. Best place ever. VCA FV shame on you. I give you one star for some of the girls at the hospital, I realize it's not them and they tried to help but really had no control. more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!! My friend took her puppy to this place yesterday. When she called ahead, she let them know he was lethargic, having severe tremors and at time was completely non responsive. They told her as long as she was there by 3:00p.m. they would treat him. She was there by 2:45. They examined him, put in an I. V, gave her a fluids bag and told her they were now closed, she would have to take her puppy to another hospital. She was told by this establishment that they often referred people to this other hospital and they would be expecting her, and that this other hospital would use the fluid bag and I.V that they provided. When she arrived at this other hospital, they had no idea she was coming and refused to use the I. V. and fluid bag provided.\r \r When my friend called All Care today to complain about the treatment Charlie received yesterday she was told that they didn't have the staff to work after hours and that he wasn't stabilized enough to remain at their facility. Amazing!!! This is a supposed animal hospital...and add to that the fact he wasn't stabilized enough to remain there, but he WAS stabilized enough to be moved to another hospital??? The staff there was completely unsympathetic and refused to refund her any portion of the money she paid them - for nothing!!! All they wanted was to close up and end their work day. more

AVOID AVOID AVOID! \r \r my cat had a blockage which was nothing new since he had one a year ago and i knew it could come back at any time. he blocked again and i rushed him to my vet where he stayed for two days, they removed the catheter and he immediately blocked again so my vet recommended i get the pu surgery. i was hesitant but had no other choice so my vet recommended i go to vca all care asap from my vet so my baby boy could get his surgery. i didn't know that when i dropped him off i'd never see him again!\r \r they took him back and i figured it would be pricey, my vet said around $2500. ok, i can live with that, my animals are like children to me, i would do anything for them. and that's what all care knows...they pray on the emotions of pet owners for $$$. i was taken into a room and quoted $4500, that was the lowest it would be. i was shocked but said ok, he needed it asap and i couldn't find anyone else to do it right away. mind you that my vet had taken numerous blood samples and tests and i brought all the paperwork with me, there was nothing unusual so everything should have gone ok. they did the surgery the next day and called me to tell me everything had gone well and my baby was recovering. while i was at work i kept getting call after call from them telling me that he is getting worse by the hour. they did a blood transfusion and all of a sudden he went from a super healthy kitty to anemic and killing his own blood cells. i was so paranoid and stressed i couldn't work. he was hanging on throughout the night then i get a call from dr bonaparte and she tells me he can't breathe and they want to put him in a hyperbaric chamber for $100 an hour. i'm bawling at this point freaked out that i will never see my baby again. he was hanging on by a thread and i decided to have him put down because they said we were just prolonging things and he wouldn't make it. this was on 8/15/12 and i still can't think or talk about it without crying. i miss my cat so much, he was only 6 years old and they claim he had a heart condition. funny...he was never sick in his entire life except one other blockage.\r \r what REALLY pisses me off about this stupid place is how much they RAPE YOU in charges. as i look at my itemized copy of charges, i see that they charged me $24.00 FOR SURGERY GLOVES!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK!? why the hell am i paying for your stupid gloves!? there is an admission fee of $17.60, $60 euthanasia fee (YOU COULDN'T PUT HIM DOWN FOR FREE FOR ME!?), .50 for 5 cotton swabs, on top of $6679 of other charges. they won't even let you get service until you give a full deposit of the lowest estimate ($4500 for me).\r \r I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! in fact, i will make it my life's work to tell everyone i know to never ever come to this death trap. i've called twice to talk to the financial dept and they never call me back! this place is extremely expensive and unsympathetic. PLEASE do not come here, i can't believe my vet would recommend this awful place. go ANYWHERE ELSE! more

Very nice 6/21/2010

The staff was very nice and polite. They took Marble ,our Shih Tzu, in right away because of her condition. I had just had her overnight at an emergency hospital. That I had to pay 2500 for one night. Because of this I was low on funds. They were nice enough to explain what had to be done and what would be idea. Low-end, high- end. I asked if this could be done at my vet for less. They were nice enough to call my vet describe Marble's issues to them and came back with the honest answer, with the exception of 24 hour care and a few procedures my vet could do the job. Dr. Bergstrom and Nancy were exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to take my pet there if an emergency situation came up. If it wasn't so far rom my home I would make them my family veterinarian. Pros: nice helpful and caring clean . more

Amazing vet 10/30/2009

I was referred to VCA All Care from my regular vet because there was something wrong with my dog and they couldn't figure out what it was. From the moment I called to set up an appointment I knew it was going to be a great experience. The staff is so incredibly nice. I had a new baby that I had to bring along with my dog and they helped me every step of the way....and acted like they wanted to...not as if they had to or where put out. The doctor discovered that my dog had cancer and we started the chemo treatments. I called every other vet in Southern California and they were all priced the same...but none of them took the time to explain to me the process like they did. When they told me of her condition I cried for 5 minutes and the doctor sat down next to be, but his arm around me and just let me cry. He didn't rush to another room...he stayed with me. I have never met more compassionate people in my life. Anyone that could possibly say anything negative about this vet must me a negative person. I never once ran into a person there that seemed unhappy and my dog was there every Saturday for 6 months getting Chemo treatments. The Staff at VCA All Care will always hold a very special place in my heart. Pros: Compassionate, reasonably prices, and very knowledgeable more

WORST VET EVER!! 7/20/2009

WORST PLACE EVER!!!! Do NOT leave your animals here! If absolutely necessary, have them stabilized, then take them to your regular vet. They will ""DO EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK"" and charge you for every nickel and dime they can come up with. We paid over $4000 to have a leg set (which was way over their initial estimate--with no call-back to authorize extra expense). The surgery was done improperly & took 4 times longer to heal than normal, and in the end broke again in the same place becuase of improper healing. Our regular vet did a better, more involved job (bone graft at this point) for less than $700. Just check the internet to see their (bad) record and notice how all positive reviews are copied verbatim to these sites? So I am doing the same!!! Cons: THEY WILL REAM YOU! more

Best Vet Emergency/Referral Hospital 3/8/2009

We have had to use the services of VCA All-Care a number of times over the past 10 years. We do, have and will continue to recommend All-Care to our friends, family and acquaintences. We live in Los Angeles and have a number of Emergency/Referral Hospitals to choose from (one only 2 miles from our home) however, we will go out of our way to make sure our 'kids' get the best care we can give them and that is all VCA All-Care. My husband and I have/had 3 cats and 5 dogs so far in our lives together - 3 domestic shorthair cats, a Great Dane, an English Bulldog, a Jack Russell Terrier, a Clumber Spainel, and a Bassett Hound. Each have had at one or more times a unique problem that our family vet was not able to address at his facility. They have held our hands thru emergencies, cancer, diseases, etc. and the end of life issues. We can not recommend them more highly - we have referred family, friends and acquaintences to All-Care. All have walked away knowing that they got the best care for thier 'kids'! more

Terrible doctors, horrible treatment 5/5/2008

I would have given them zero stars if I could have. This hospital gave me the worst experience at a vet ever. I brought my cat who was very very ill to this hospital because she needed a blood transfusion, something my normal vet couldnt do. The doctors here, specifically Joon Im and Jeff Yu, were condescending, impatient and rude. They act like every question you ask is a waste of their time. When I didn't understand every medical term they used and asked for more clarification they just get EVEN more condescending. Every minute they have to spend talking to you about your pet's condition is a profound annoyance to these two doctors. These doctors couldnt care less about you or your pets and can't even bring themselves to hide it. When I asked for a litter box and food to be keep in her cage at all times (she's in renal failure and very underweight), ALL I GOT WAS A NASTY ATTITUDE. Think of it this way, if they treat YOU so badly, do you really think they will treat your help more

USE EXTREME CAUTION 8/8/2007

We went there only because it was the only place open. They have a history of having people do surgery with ZERO vet training and that is the truth! They will order as many tests as they can get you to pay for. Expect them to want to keep you animal in the hospital at up to THOUSANDS per day once everything it figured in. Depending on who you spoke with last your balance could be quoted as anything. If you are rich it MIGHT be the best game in town for a pet about to die. But if you are on an extreme budget you can expect to be made VERY uncomfortable with what you are told ... I think they play on emotions to milk people out of as much money as they can ...they have a HUGE overhead, a big staff. The place is a "machine" that MUST have steady infusions of YOUR cash to survive. Our dog was vomiting and had a fever. Automatically without ANY questions about health patterns etc they put in an IV and started looking for intenstinal obstructions via Xray which showed none then via u more

Very expensive 7/21/2007

Dog vomiting for less than 1 day...... no dehydration...... vet at this center wanted to keep the dog overnight with IV at the cost of $800-$1200. Dog weighs less than 8 lbs and not lethargic at all. GIVE ME A BREAK!! It does not cost that much for a human being with no insurance to spend the night at the hospital!! Ended up taking useless x-ray at the bargain price of $120 (my x-ray cost only $40).\r Absolutely ridiculous prices!! I felt they wanted to run every single test on the face of this planet!! Then suggested I give the dog over counter anacid. more
