Having about 6-7 inches of spring to it, it has been nearly impossible to find a talented stylist that knows how to cut curly. Uli and Unruli is the place you need to go. Last year I moved here from Ohio and had to find a new hair stylist. I went to several different salons in the Nashville area and was disappointed until I went to Unruli Aveda in Franklin. The hair stylist, Kaylahn, gave me the best haircut I've ever had. She is extremely talented and has a sweet personality. The haircut she gave me compliments my face shape perfectly. She is amazing! I finally found an amazing salon! We moved to Franklin from Los Angeles nine months ago. I tried a few salons before coming here. I was so unhappy with my color and cut with these other salons. I was starting to fear that I would have to wait until we visited Los Angeles to get my hair done again, until I found Unruli! This salon is so wonderful. I have had my hair colored three times by Frazier. Not only is he such a sweet, fun, caring person, he is also amazing with color. I came to him with way too much bleach in my blonde hair. He mixed many colors together and gave me such a beautiful, natural looking blonde, that is so much more flattering to my eyes and skin tone. He is truly an artist. I have the amazing Uli, the owner of the salon, cut my hair. It is the best hair cut I've had in at least 10 years. He knew how to tame my very thick and coarse hair with beautiful layers that fall just right around my face and shoulders. He gave me a cut that is low maintenance, easy to style and I feel beautiful. He gave me a Brazilian Blow out last week, and I must say it is the best thing I have ever done for my hair. He is a magician! I can't believe what a difference it has made in my hair. It cut my drying time in half and it is so silky and smooth. Even my young sons noticed a big difference. Everyone that has frizzy, coarse, thick hair should be required to have this amazing service. I truly have straight silky, easy to manage hair like I did when I was a kid! Truly the Brazilian Blow Out is the best invention since the cell phone, as far as I'm concerned, and Uli has mastered the art! I couldn't be happier with this salon. It is a home that has been renovated into a salon, in an amazing location, that is walking distance to all of the amazing stores and restaurants of historic Franklin. You feel at home the second you walk in the door. They don't overbook and you get your stylist's full attention the entire time you are there. The front desk is so friendly as is everyone that works there. Give yourself the best gift ever and go to this salon and ask for Frazier and Uli. AMAZING!!! I am a customer for life! more

I have been getting my hair colored for many years by many different colorist at many different salons (too many to count) and I can honestly say that it has NEVER looked or felt better! I have coarse, wavy hair with some stubborn greys and Jaelynn @ Unruli Salon in Franklin took the time to discuss all my options as well as listened to what I wanted. We all know that SAYING and DOING are two different things but with Jaelynn, they are one and the same! Thank you again Jaelynn for making me look the age I want to be........not the age I am! ;-) more

First of all, I love Franklin because it is so historical and beautiful. As if it could have gotten any better, I found Jaelynn who gets my color right everytime and so it did! Now, I REALLY love Franklin. I travel from Nashville for her to do my color. I have had 6 different people in Nashville try to do my hair and 3 out of the 6 times it was a disaster. I have blonde hair and it is so hard to find a GOOD colorist who knows what they're doing when it comes to blonde. She is so sweet and actually listens to what I want and then follows through with an amazing result!! I LOVE her work! You won't be disappointed if you go to Jaelynn. She also does updos and will be doing my hair for all of my wedding events - I wouldn't have anyone else!! :) more

Got my 2nd Brazilian Blowout done by Uli and it turned out awesome! Uli and the staff are SO friendly and really enjoy what they do. Uli has been so great from day 1! He spent over an hour with me when I came in for a free consultation and went over every concern that I had! He's very personable and knowledgable. Love this place - Definitely will return! more

I got a fantastic haircut today @ Unruli by Uli. He was very professional and informative. My hair looked so good and healthy when he finished. He took my "soccer mom" bob and made it look great and modern. I am so happy and my head felt 10 pounds lighter! I also had a brow & lip wax. No pain for a change. Great! The whole experience was wonderful. Will definitely go again. Just read some negative reviews about this place. I can't imagine anyone not loving it. I saw or felt no "snobbery". In fact, quite the opposite. It was the most expensive haircut that I have ever had and was well worth it. Everyone there was wonderful. I am neither "hip", nor have much money. Just my opinion. Never felt anything but kindness and professionalism. No snobs to me. more

I went to Unruli today to get a pretty drastic haircut. It was only my 2nd time there so I decided to see Uli the owner. I got my very long hair cut pretty short. I took in a picture of what I liked and that's exactly what I got. Uli took the time to explain how to style my new haircut which helped tremendously when I got home and tried to style it myself for the first time. I was able to make it look just like he did in just a few minutes with the pointers he gave me. If you go, which I highly recommend you do, make sure you see Uli. He's the best by far!! more

I had done the Brazilian blowout by the owner and a Lady who helped him. I am very satisfied with the results and the experience. I agree with other posts the owner is very personal and friendly. Will be coming back! more

The owner is very personable and gives great advice. The salon was a great atmosphere and people there are very friendly. Lucy and the owner worked on my hour for about 2 + hours. They were very detail oriented and concerned with making me look great! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great salon! You will not be disappointed with a cut from this salon! more

Unruli is a great place to recieve Aveda Keritan treatments. The owner is personable, loves what he does, and truly wants to make you look your best. The atmosphere is fabulous and the staff makes you feel like your the only one in the salon. You must visit this salon and try it. You won't be disappointed! more

I cannot say enough good things about Unruli. The front desk staff is so friendly and made me feel special as soon as I walked through the door. First I had my eyebrows waxed with Rachel. She did great! She really takes the time to analyze YOUR eyebrows. Next Kayleyn cut my hair and it looks wonderful. One of the best cuts I've ever had! Elizabeth did my color next and it looks so great! I like a natural look (I don't want my hair to look "colored") and she did what I wanted and more! You will not regret your visit to Unruli! Having just moved here from New Mexico I was looking for someone to give me a hair cut, style that would support my naturally curly hair in the wonderful humidity we have here. After several ho-hum attempts, my daughter actually called up Unruli, got an appointment, and had her hair trimmed, liked it a lot, and felt I should go. I called and Uli was the stylist available. I said sure, and I sure am glad. After questions about my hair he was honest with me and said that my hair needed keratin badly and a style to compliment my face, personality, etc. I am a 64-year-old grandmother of 3 who feels much younger, looks younger than her years and I am sassy and feeling good. Uli (unruli: get it) gave me the hair cut to support all that and then some with a plan for down the road.........I am hooked and will only be going to Uli and Unruli for all my styling, facial needs..........I love it here in Tennessee and I love the way Unruli made me feel: BRAVO! more

I love my new haircut! I usually try to get something different each time and hardly ever go in with a photo. I was able to just describe what I wanted, and I got it. I didn't get pushed to buy any products and they didn't put a bunch of stuff in my hair (I'm a natural kind of girl). In my opinion, there's not much worse than going in for a relaxing haircut and getting a sales pitch for products. I feel like I look great and that's why I've been going to this salon since I moved to town. more

Can I give this salon MORE than 5 stars? I’m a grandmother from Indianapolis, and I was in Franklin visiting my daughter and her family. My daughter goes to Unruli and her hair always looks so beautiful. The wonderful daughter she is, she treated me to a cut and color at Unruli. My hair is very short, so I didn’t think there was much they could do. When Uli and Frazier were done, I was amazed! I had the most beautiful cut and color I’ve ever had in my life! There are very nice, award-winning, salons in Indianapolis, and I’ve gone to them, but I’ve never had the beautiful haircut, or color, I got at Unruli. Uli asked some questions about what I like, what I do to style my hair, and gave me not only a beautiful cut, but one that fits my lifestyle exactly. Now that I’m home, the cut still looks fabulous, very easy to style, and even if I don’t lift a finger, it falls into place and looks great. The cut, even though it’s very short, is versatile. I can style it a couple of different ways for very pretty looks. Another thing – despite the fact that this is an uber-cool, hip salon, and I’m an uber-conservative grandmother, I felt very comfortable and was made to feel very welcome there. Unruli is now my salon – it is well worth the 5.5 hour drive! more

Cannot say enough good things about this experience! The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly, stylishly decorated. My shampoo was more so a scalp massage. I actually forgot Lucy was washing my hair at all. The personal attention was above and beyond what I expected. When it came to blow drying and straightening my hair, I couldn't believe there were two stylists working on my hair at one time. It really did make me feel like a rock star. The stylists were knowledgeable and attentive to my desires and considered the kind of care/time I would be able to show my hair on a daily basis. Amazing experience. Run, don't walk! more

This is the best salon hands down! I on the other hand have not been :( The reviews are so great that I would love love love to go! I can just imagine getting a brazilian blowout or a wonderful and smooth keratin treatment and then to top it off a gorgeous haircut of my dreams! Having the best haircolorist and then the greatest hairstylist sounds like any woman's dream come true but alas it comes to this, that but a wonderful dream........Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas quickly follows, so for now I regretfully have to spend my money on Turkey and dressing followed by many Christmas presents....I hope to visit Unruli one day ....maybe next year ....when my taxes come in! LOL! Forget sugar plums I will keep dreaming of beautiful hair from UNRULI!!!!! more

I am fairly new to Nashville and was seeking a new stylist to handle my curly, frizzy, coarse, and out of control hair. After reading hundreds of reviews online, I decided to give Unruli a try. Setting up my appt was easy and the receptionist was very friendly. They set me up with the owner Uli. I had a consultation back in July and he recommended the Keratin treatment to tame my frizzy curls. He informed me it would last approx 4 months, depending on my hair type. He also assured me I would have the best hair cut I had ever had! I was excited to hear that. I have had so many bad hair cuts in the past and it is hard to find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair. But, with Uli's experience I put my trust in his skills. A week later, I had the keratin applied to my hair, and Uli truly delivered on his guarantee; my haircut was amazing. I'm still getting compliments! The keratin treatment made my hair soft and looked great, while still maintaining my natural curls. Uli was great and very professional the entire time. About two weeks later in August, after washing my hair several times, I noticed my hair was becoming frizzy again around my hairline, and tangly in spots. I contacted Uli to discuss this with him and asked him what he recommended. He suggested applying the brazilian blowout around my hairline to manage the frizz. So, I made an appt with him that week and the rest is history...... My hair looks gorgeous after applying the brazilian blowout. It has made my styling time so much easier. My hair is so much softer and much easier to manage. Thanks to Uli and his staff for making me a believer that frizzy hair can be managed! more

My whole life I have had thick, unrulY hair and if there was the slightest of humidity, I became a circus clown as my hair would poof out. NOW, I have Unruli Hair!! It is amazing. I have never had a Brazillian Blowout before last Monday. My hair was smooth and silky feeling...I must say...healthy feeling! And the topper was my husband told me no less than three times how good my hair looked.....he normally says, "It looks ok." And now I have my fabulous haircut and it looks even better. This is the first time I have found someone who can do a dry haircut and knows what they are doing. I love you Uli. You must call and make an appointment right away. You will not be sorry.
