I love my Brazilian Blowout! 4/12/2010

I received my first Brazilian blowout treatment at Unruli 2 1/2 weeks ago and it changed my life. I know, I know it's just hair but it really has. Instead of 20-25 minutes of blow drying and flat ironing, my hair is smooth, shiny and straight in 5 minutes. I even got my hair wet recently on a ride at Six Flags and it air dried straight! If that last sentence doesn't excite you, you have great hair. When your hair is frizzy and puffy like mine, hair drying straight is a miracle. The staff at Unruli all celebrated with me the results and I had a blast getting it done and showing it off. They were as excited as I was about my hair. Now what more could a girl ask for? more

Just ask for Lauren! 3/25/2010

I moved to TN from CA over 2 years ago. I wasn't sure how it would go as far as finding a new stylist, but the very first time Lauren cut my hair, I LOVED it! I have been getting amazing haircuts from Lauren for two years now. Anytime someone compliments my haircuts, I get really excited to tell them who cuts it! She is really good at listening to exactly what I want, and if I go in not sure what kind of cut I want, then she does whatever and I totally trust her! I have short, textured hair and she always does such a great job! If you make an appointment with Lauren, you will love what she does! more

Better haircuts than 90210 salons 3/23/2010

Moved here from L.A. years ago where I had tried many top salons and big name stylists in Beverly Hills, always on a quest for the best haircut. While I have had some great cuts, I have never experienced the perfection that Uli creates--balance, artistry and style combined. He is the master. I have never been happier with my haircut, ever. Also, it is quite apparent that everyone working in the salon has great cuts that are truly outstanding. Unruli cuts are so noticeably good that recently while in the Cool Springs area, I admired the haircut of a young woman working in a store and thought it looked like an "Unruli" cut. When I asked her where she got it cut, she smiled and said "Unruli!" Pros: Uli, is the pro! more

Best Salon In Tennessee 3/23/2010

I had my first experience at Unruli last Friday. The owner, Uli [i think that's how you spell his name!?] cut my hair. I have really long, curly hair. It's always a gamble when I get my haircut and normally I leave disappointed. You have to really know hair to be able to cut mine and make it not be too puffy or dry in the shape of the letter A. I was advised to get a Keratin treatment and I am so happy I agreed! My hair is so soft, it basically eliminated all frizz and cut my straightening time at least in half! I LOVE the cut and it's perfect for wearing my hair curly or straight. My friend had Tarabella cut her hair and she was so happy as well! The salon has a very laid back environment. It was a beautiful day so they flat ironed my hair out on the porch while I was served tea and a warm muffin. All of the stylists were friendly and I would trust any of them to cut my hair. fabulous professional salon 3/21/2010

Courtney colored my hair this Saturday. She listened to what I wanted, discussed with me what she suggested, gave me the price ahead of time, was completely attentive and I received the most gorgeous hair color I have ever had. All the salon employees were so friendly. The owner was also very helpful in suggesting a great new styling tool for curly hair. I will be a regular client of Courtney's and Unruli salon. Where trendy and classy meet 3/11/2010

The first time I got my hair done at Unruli they spent 15 minutes trying to figure me out. "What size is your purse? What side do you generally carry it on? What does your day consist of? How much time to you have to style your hair?" I couldn't believe how much they cared and how they understood that they can't help me feel beautiful unless they know about ME! I love the depth of character of the staff. The genuine love and hospitality they demonstrate for the people who walk into this lovely salon. It is clear that the staff enjoy and respect one another. I've never been at a salon that feels as "safe" as Unruli. Brazilian Blowout! If you spend any time at all on your hair and find you just can't get it to look like you left the salon...this is the answer! With just a quick blowdry my hair is soft, silky and styled in seconds! It's a wonder treatment! They are the masters on all fronts! I'm SOLD!!! Best place in Franklin for a cut 3/3/2010

Unruli in Franklin is by far my favorite place in town to get a haircut - the atmosphere is great, everyone is so friendly and Lauren is tops in my book. I've looked for a great place to get my hair cut for a long time and always had to sacrifice either quality or dread sitting through 30 minutes with someone I can't relate to but you get the best of all worlds at Unruli because everyone is so talented and awesome to be around! Excellent service, enjoyable atmosphere 3/1/2010

I moved to Franklin about a year and a half ago, tried a few salons, and wasn't happy with the results. I'm kind of a picky guy when it comes to haircuts, and I didn't want to continue a monthly trial and error process. I gave Unruli a shot, and I've been more than happy ever since. On a recent visit, I tried the Brazilian blowout treatment to get my hair a bit more under control. I'm skeptical when it comes to products and treatments in general, and I didn't know how much it would benefit a guy's hair. A month later, and I'm still pleased with the results. Rather than having a fluffy head of hair, it looks much more stylish and manageable--and still with plenty of natural wave/body if you want, or straight if you blow dry. Every month I look forward to my appointment. Uli and the staff do a great job of making clients feel welcome, and provide helpful suggestions and terrific results. Can't believe my hair! 2/26/2010

My hair was very damaged and pardon me, but "unruli" when I first entered the salon. Lot's of natural curl but very frustrating. Uli suggested the Brazilian treatment and it's totally changed my hair! I can't believe how many compliments I now get on my hair. I actually look forward to styling it now. Not something I've ever looked forward to. Courtney has done amazing things with the color of my hair as well. If you're looking for the place that treats you like royalty, run - don't walk - to Unruli. You will absolutely love it! more

Trustworthy and Professional Salon 2/15/2010

Uli, the owner, and his team, have changed my life and my daughters life. My daughter has corkscrew curls down the middle of her back and wanted straight hair. They talked to us about all of our options, guided us on the best possible outcome with the least hair damage. My daughters hair never looked better!!! It is silky smooth, very healthy and she is so thrilled with the outcome. Cori and her assistant were tremendous. I also took a chance with them after going to the same person for 14 years and Uli gave me a new look by simply bringing my hairstyle up to date and giving me a color that looked better with my skin tone. I have received so many compliments on my hair - even from other customers before I left the salon. Unruli is 30 minutes from my house and worth every minute I spend in the car to get there. I can run my fingers through my hair for the first time!!! 2/14/2010

My hair is so curly....and would "grow" in the humidity...ugh...but no more----with the Brazillian straightener, I can run my fingers through my hair for the first time! It feels so good! I am getting more compliments than ever before....Uli (my favorite stylist) is a HAIR WIZZARD!!!! Pros: Cool Atmosphere....caring professionals. Cons: I wish I could go every week!!! more

Geniuses 2/10/2010

I had the Brazilian blowout after reading about it in Us Magazine and it has changed my life. For the first time in my entire life I can swim and my hair dries normally- and looks great w/o styling. I had curly frizzy hair that was a mess after getting wet from anything- rain, snow, steam, fog, etc. Swimming w/o a bathroom and styling tools nearby was off limits. treatment takes 30 years of damage out of my hair! 1/21/2010

My work requires I travel and attend events with lots and lots of people. Lately, I have found myself really observing other womens hair- probably because I have been so discontent with mine. But no more! Today I had a "Brazilian blowout" treatment by Uli, the owner of Unruli in downtown Franklin,TN. After years and years of so much self-induced damage to my hair, store bought colors, etc. I have discovered the world of AVEDA! This treatment restored my hair perfectly- amazingly soft and healthy looking and feeling. Worth EVERY penny. I can recommend this "Brazilian Blowout" treatment highly enough. You will NOT be disappointed! Pros: healthy, fabulous hair! Cons: MUST DO!!! more

THE BEST place for a brazilian straightening!!! And Cut too! 11/30/2009

After being very hesitant to get a brazilian straightening, I trusted Uli and his team of experts at Unruli with my hair. Can I tell you it is life changing! My hair has been poker straight without doing much other than blow drying in 5 minutes...and yes, I have lots of hair that is truly unruly! It's a miracle. The color was also great, making my hair look healthier than ever. The cut was the best I have ever had...and I've gone to many great stylists in New York city. They know their stuff at Unruli's and looks like I'll be back at least twice a year to franklin to get my brazilian straightening, color and cut! The best haircut I have had in years 11/5/2009

I actually found Unruli on the internet and decided to give it a try. Uli cut my hair and it was a mess at the time. I had been through several bad haircuts and he has fixed it with only 2 cuts. He actually asked me for a photograph of the look I was after. Once we decided that it would work for me, he pretty much cut my hair to look like that cut which is amazing because he didn't have much to work with. It was in layers and I wanted 1 length. I have red hair which is difficult to color. Valerie colors my hair and highlights it and does a great job. It looks very natural. Overall my hair is in much better shape since I have been going to this salon. I have recommended it to a couple of people and they are also very happy. Pros: good service, very professional, clean salon Cons: None that I have found so far more

Finally! 10/8/2009

I have been searching for a new salon for months and decided to try Unruli after reading all the positive reviews on citysearch. Finally I have found a new home for my hair! I had been going to the same stylist for over a year and she just never got it quite right-she kept giving me the same haircut over and over no matter how many different pics I brought in. Tara at Unruli spent lots of time listening to what I didn't like about my current cut and figuring out exactly what I wanted in a new style. She knew immediately what my old stylist had been doing wrong and how to fix it. She explained everything she was doing as she cut my hair and then showed me some new flat iron tricks to get the different looks I wanted. The scalp massage was a nice extra bonus! I'm really happy with my new haircut and will definitely be returning. more

Best In Franklin 9/24/2009

I feel so pretty. Uli and Allysa gave me a Brazilian Blowout today and now my very curly hair is straight. My hair has never, ever, ever before been this smooth and sleek. It’s amazing how fantastic I feel. Unruli cuts my granddaughter’s hair, so I knew they did great work, but I didn’t use them myself and I’d sort of gotten used to not being really happy with how my hair looked. I love Aveda products so I decided to check out Unruli. The environment is very cool and soothing. Uli - while a bit expensive - gives great haircuts (they're not really haircuts - they're hair designs.) He gets to understand your lifestyle and what works. And then provides a cut that lasts for weeks and weeks and weeks - so it's worth the cost! Pros: Haircuts that last 10 weeks Cons: Expensive - but so worth it! more
