Unruli Aveda

I went to Unruli for a haircut and facial and loved them both! Korie cut my hair. She did an amazing job! I loved how honest she was with me. Rachel gave me the facial. It was a wonderful experience! My skin looks so good! Both of them were on time and were very friendly and professional. Some of the staff may be young but they sure know what they are doing! I will be coming back for sure! I received a gift certificate to go to Unruli. It was a profound experience. My hairstyle was a little dated and I wanted a more professional look. In my line of work, I have to look the best possible and so I was very impressed that for the first time ever someone spoke truthfully to me about my style, color and skin concerns. Uli and Valorie gave me the best hair color and cut I have ever had. I had tons of compliments! Rachel (the esthetician) gave me a facial. I've never had a facial where you get your hands, feet, shoulders and neck massaged as well. My skin has never looked better! She really talked to me about my skin and told me what to do at home. She also gave me a brow wax that was amazing. I cannot say enough how wonderful this salon is. I will definitely be back! Pros: EXCELLENT SERVICE! more

From the moment I walked in the door of this uber-sleek salon, I felt like I was the most important person in the world to the staff at Unruli. I was treated with such kindness and care and was completely pampered, it felt like a spa day - and I only came in expecting a nice haircut. Speaking of the haircut - Uli Reyes is amazing. He listened carefully to what I wanted, then made some informed suggestions, put me immediately at ease, and he's probably just the coolest, kindest, mellowest guy I've ever met. My cut is amazing - better than I even imagined. And he showed me exactly how to style it, so it looks as great today when I did it myself as it did the day I walked out of the salon. I wish I had a reason to go back today and hang out with the awesome people at Unruli! In my opinion, the best salon in Nashville - hands down. Pros: The coolest, most fun people - who are insanely talented when it comes to hair. Cons: The cut is so great and will last so long, I probably won't get to go back for awhile! more

First of all i would like to address the negative comments about the owners and staff being stuck up. I dont know what salon they went to but i can tell you for sure that it was NOT Unruli. The owners are humble although incredibly talented and show genuine love for their staff. If you watch Shane and Uli you soon realize that they act as mentors and not as an egotistical boss.Unruli is everything and much much more of what you could ever desire in a salon.. You are first greeted by a friendly receptionist and then when in the chair receive a head massage from heaven, and after that is over you receive an extremely relaxing shampoo. Just when you think it can't get any better Uli grabs his scissors and gives you the haircut of your life. So, to every person out there who is stressed from the day to day and is greatly in need of a new look, I truly believe you would have to be crazy to go anywhere other than UNRULI! Pros: The most talented stylist within 500 miles! Cons: Needs more space for a salon that will take off! more

IF you aren't the super cool super hip crowd, ( or at least think you are) you won't like it here. Those guys that run the place think they are a gift to the universe. And for the money, my hair didn't turn out that great. I won't be back. more

The first time I went to Unruli, it was really because I liked the name. I keep going because I love the way my hair looks now. I've never had a better cut. I have been frequenting this salon since it opened, and I really couldn't be more pleased with my hair-cut and color. Uli cuts my hair and he is wonderful. I really appreciate his talent and his desire to make my hair fit my life-small kids but I still have a style. I feel lucky to have found this place. My mother lives almost 1,000 miles from franklin and every time she visits me, she also goes to see Uli. He really is one of kind. more

I have never felt so comfortable at a salon! The vibe in the salon is easy, the stylists love each other and it shows. So often I go into a salon and feel like I should get dressed up and have a full face of makeup before I go in, Unruli is like coming home- but to a beautifully designed and cool house. The salon is in a historic home in downtown Franklin, very cool. And the pressure and the gossip isn't there at all! The best part is that I left with the most fantastic color and cut I have ever had! Uli is a magician and Amber Joy is a color genius! Love, love, love this salon. You won't be disappointed! I agree with the person below me, there seemed to be a "snobby feel" in the air while i was there. To me that ruined the whole experience. I felt like i was talked down to some in trying to explain how i wanted my hair cut. Not everyone knows the "hair lingo" perfectly . I didnt get a bad haircut, but just the environment ruined the experience for me, i dont feel like my $85 haircut was worth it. . Any place with a bit of arrogance gets a big "no vote " from me. I can't recommend this salon highly enough. Shane knows what he is doing, and I will offer up my hair as proof. Pricing is competitive, customer service is fantastic, and the atmosphere is simultaneously relaxing and upscale. Aveda concept salons are almost always good, in my experience, but this one is my favorite ever. Pros: Easy appointments, good products, excellent service, excellent results. Cons: The only potential con, in my view, is cost, but I think you get what you pay for. more

When you walk in the door at Unruli?s you can sense the difference immediately. However, the experience of being a salon guest is what makes this place unique. Professionalism and customer care are clearly the top priority for this salon. A spirit of excellence permeates all aspects of service. But the thing I most enjoy and appreciate about this salon is the people. These people are clearly good at what they do (quite likely the best in town) and it shows. It makes the salon experience quite amazing, imagine being treated with the utmost respect as a customer while feeling like a friend in the process. I have been more than pleased with my experience at Unruli! As a college student, on a low budget-but also wanting to keep a current style, it has been the perfect fit. The employees are extremely friendly, but more importantly, they are extremely talented. The haircut I received at Unruli (cut was by Uli) was the best haircut I have had in my life. I have now been going there since they opened and I refuse to have anyone else cut my hair. For most people, growing their hair out is a frustrating task. But the haircut Uli gave while I grew out my hair, made it managable and stylish throughout the process. My hair is very thick and now long, but Uli cuts it in such a way giving me less bulk but still alot of body. Cory (female) has also given me a brow and lip wax. She did such a wonderful job. My mom began going to Unruli and has been thrilled with her experience too. It is a place that all ages will enjoy. Whether you want to have the latest style and trend or you are more traditional...the secret is: THEY LISTEN. They listen to what you want and will help you achieve the haircut you've always wanted. Trust me...you will not regret a visit to Unruli!!! more

This is the place. What a team Uli has put together! When you step through the door you feel like you have a new family. Uli and Shane are absolute pros and can do anything with hair. Amber does my color and it is perfect every time. Cory-girl (as opposed to Cory-boy) is developing expertise in Brazilian straightening, and is going to be the "go to " person in the area for this new, safe process. I could not be more pleased with Unruli. I tried another local Aveda salon first, but it just didn't work for me the way Unruli does. You won't be disappointed! I used to live in Las Vegas and after getting a horrible haircut, I went to the closest Aveda Concept salon. I found one named Upstage Hair, (Now going to be named Unruli).... and I met Ulises the owner. He saw my bad haircut and immediately sat me down and listened to my dissatisfaction in what had happened to my hair. He immediately knew what to do, what to say, and help me go through the growing out process with great ease. It was a "choice" moment in my life. I had met the person that I wanted to do my hair for the rest of my life!! I now live in Michigan, and his closest salon is about 9 hours away, in Franklin Tennessee. Truth be told, I am willing to drive the distance for the whole Unruli experience. This man, who goes by Uli, is a hair genius!!! He is worth the money and its a joy to know that your hair is in his hands! more

I can't say enough about Unruli...the products, the cuts, the service, the people, the hair-washing with a warm towel at the end...it's all fabulous! The decor is "subdued-stunning". Everyone seems genuinely nice (not just like they have to be in order to get a paycheck). I was thrilled with the free initial consultation. Uli listened carefully to everything I said..all of my likes and dislikes, and brilliantly sorted through it all. He came up with a long-term plan for a new style that we have been working toward for several months. They have been taking pictures along the way. It's been fun to see the change over time. I feel like I'm having my own extreme makeover! If you are new to the area or just haven't found a stylist that "gets you"..I would highly recommend Unruli. more

I've been in Nashville for almost 4 years and only recently found a place in Unruli Salon where I not only get a terrific haircut but enjoy the experience. I've been back several times since my first visit and my conversation with Shane just picks up where it left off last time. He's been great about giving me advice for my "do" and fitting it to my personality and style. They've been great about accommodating my busy schedule. The atmosphere, the people, and the service are all terrific. I highly recommend you check them out the next time you are looking for a place to get a trim and just kick back for a while.
