They give new meaning to the 'worse service'. Cable is either slow or 'out', but their billing system works overtime. The 'fees' are more than the bill. Talk about false adverstising! Customer service is a complete joke, and the answer is to send someone out to look at your cables ! Produces no results except frustration. more

Worst Refund Return 5/28/2012

I returned all my equipment in Feb 2011. I even packed it inI the boxes. I asked about a refund and they said it would be mailed. After not receiving a check after a month I called and they said they were waiting on the refund department. I called the refund department directly and never got a return call. I sent a letter demanding my refund and got no response. I even sent the City of Houston a letter since all complaints go to them and not the FCC. They didn't get any response and I still have not received my $200 deposit back. If you don't mind losing money on deposits please use this service. more

Theft 11/4/2011

I used Wavevision for 9 months while renting an apartment in Tomball. The cable went out from time to time while I lived there but not the most terrible thing. What IS terrible about this company is they are now refusing to reimburse the $100 they owe me from July. I wasn't even the one who caught the error. When I turned in my box at their location I was told that I had a credit and they asked for my new address and said they'd mail me a check. It's now November 4th. I've called them on several occasions now to check back and each time have either been told, ""it didn't get processed"" and then the last 2 calls, ""we are expediting this and will have a check to you shortly"" Today they now say, ""We don't write refund checks anymore."" After months of talking to them they tell me this NOW?!Needless to say I'm livid. No one has ever mentioned this and now I'm living in a different city and in real need to have the money THEY TOLD ME was owed to me. So I asked to speak to someone in upper management and of course they put me on hold literally so long I eventually hungup. I sure no one had an intention to answer the line and give me a real explanation in the first place. I don't know what to do really besides write a letter to their billing department and report them to the BBB. I know this won't do much good unless enough others actually take the time to do it too. So I'm warning any future customers to STAY AWAY and pleading with any past customers to take some kind of action so they don't keep getting away with this. more

scam artist. amber is a b*tch who does not return calls and she is the one in charge of the refunds. it will be a year next month and i have yet to have anyone give me a reason as to why i have not received my refund nor have yet to have anyone return my phone calls. amber, god forbid you are faced with financial problems because karma is a b*tch. what goes around, comes around. keep your money you f*cking b*tch. :-) and shove it up your a*s! oh and thanks for changing the number to your direct line too you piece of sh*t thief! more

I signed up with this website JUST so I can write a review about this pathetic company. Where to begin? Internet shuts down ATLEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. I will call them to ask them what the hell is going on, and their response would be, ""technicians are out on the field"" every single time. Unable to manage their customer service and quality of their product. Promised to offer ""12 MBPS"" as our package mentioned, and we hardly get 1.2 MBPS. Signing up with this company is similar to flushing your money down the toilet. more

WORST CABLE COMPANY EVER 7/27/2011

I can't add much that hasn't already been said, but I'll add my two cents, since I can't reach them for service at the moment. In a nutshell, they are: Incompetent Unresponsive Occasionally rude Unavailable Inconsistent Poor quality of services I won't bore anyone with the particulars of my struggles with this company, but suffice it to say, they are HORRIBLE. If I had had any choice in provider whatsoever, I would never have signed on with them. Just a week ago, I saw little orange flags pop up along the sidewalk going to my apt building for the installation of fiberoptic cable that said AT&T. Waiting for the moment I can sign on to AT&T's Uverse and tell Wavevision to ""suck it"" is painful. I'm looking forward to that moment more than a 5 year old on Christmas Eve. more

I agree with the others. It is a waste of one star for these clowns. In Kent county Maryland this group bought Bay Broadband and immediately began stripping it. You could see customer service nosediving right away. Technical support was nearly nonexistent. The only person who ever helped us was our sales agent who was replaced in December by a worthless forwarding process to a person who knew absolutely nothing and was never available. We waited around as long as we could to see if they got their act together but we recently gave up. I wish another company would come into town and give these guys some decent competition.It would be easy to run them out of town. So save your money and frustration!! more

Worst Customer Service Ever - TV Max / WAVEVISION 5/5/2011

I was a TV Max customer for 9 months when I lived in Houston. I work remotely from home and depend on the internet to work in order to complete my job. It went out on a weekly basis. Never once did I pay my bill late. When we signed out in October 2010, we were told our initial prorated amount (around $83) would be sent to us. It has now been over 6 months and I have not received anything. I've called them on a weekly basis...nothing. I finally searched online and found that the company that actually handles the financials is the company that bought TV Max and turned it into WAVEVISION...they're Broadband Ventures I Inc of Radnor, PA. I have left several messages with them to the point that I believe they're now ignoring me. I would encourage everyone to pester them to get their job done. Their number is 610-293-5990 if you want to call and leave a message for Amber in accounting. Should you feel inclined to write to them, their address is 290 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor, PA 19087. You can address it to the VP of Administration, Patricia Russell. Maybe if enough people bug the upper management someone will finally do their job. The WAVEVISION receptionists are useless. more

TVMAX now WAVEVISION 4/28/2011

In December 2010, the complex I live in switched providers. I was told I had to return the cable box and would receive a refund for the payment I made prorated. To date, April 28, 2011, I have not received my monies. I was given a date of the check being mailed as Friday, April 15, 2011 and as you can see it is now April 28th and I still do not have the check. That is just PITIFUL. I recall not sending my payment for cable services and they were on the phone calling about the payment not 1 hour on the day after delinquency. I have spoken to one of their representatives and they lied to her toooo. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! So what more can I say other than I WANT MY MONEY. more

How is this company in business? This is a recurring question in most of the reviews. Well, how do the national airlines of the communist countries remain in business....even after substandard services, rude customer service, and delays in almost every flight? Because people in those countries have no other choice! Govt will not any competing airlines to operate. Well this is the business model of TVMAX. They have made contracts with most of the apartments in Houston, that the residents can only use TVMAX and no other cable service. So it does not matter how poor the quality of their service is, they are still gonna make money. Still interested in getting service from such an unamerican company? Well then continue reading the review... Usually the cable transmission is average, I did not have as many problems as other people have noted. Only three times in 2 years I had complete stoppage of service and maximum was for 3 days. Customer service is not great, I have to wait 15-20 mins every time I call. One issue that everyone in my apt seems to have: the picture will freeze but the audio is okay...although I just have to plug out plug in to fix it, it is pretty annoying and the technicians could never fix it. The major issue is that for a below average service their prices are pretty high. Not only that, they actually increased the price two times in three months...Almost 20% higher for the same soviet era style service! After the second price increase I just called them and cancelled the service. I have decided to use netflix until I can move from my communist apartment complex. I would suggest you do the same if you are in a similar situation as mine (unless of course if you have a south facing apt, you can use dish tv). more

TVMAX (Wavevision) WORST EVER 3/23/2011

I don't even know where to begin! Ok... First of all, they're bills are confusing and NEVER MATCH the online bill. Every month, we have to call them to set the due amount straight. Second, the cable service itself doesn't even work. For example, a terrible/missing signal on every single channel. Sometimes we even lose the sound or picture completely. (Yes we have checked the modem and wire connections plenty of times.) This place is WAY over priced for what is provided, and to top it off, none of their channel selections seem to be worth a snot. I have had enough of their fraud. If we are overcharged one more time - even if it's $5 - we are canceling. We would rather pay the fee to break the contract than give them any more of our hard earned money. Definitely going to UVerse after this mess. more

An Honest Assessment of TVMax 1/31/2011

I have endured TVMax because I had no choice. Due to local regulations, consumers have been robbed of local choices. No other company can service this area, which means that TVMax can provide me with poor service, and all I can do is either accept it, or give up on cable. A few minutes ago, I called them and canceled my service... effective IMMEDIATELY. The reaction that I recieved from the TVMax Customer Service Rep was another tell-tale sign of how bad things must be at that company. She was polite, but she did not try at all to change my mind or see if there was anything she could do to keep my business. I have had TVMax technicians out several times to fix the lost signal problems that I keep experiencing. They can never permanently solve the problem. The final straw for me happened yesterday, January 30th, 2011, when I missed large segments of the Pro Bowl due to the signal strength continuing to fade in and out. Now the signal is completely gone. I have already suffered the loss of several channels that should be part of my package, due to poor/no signal strength. But now I have lost Fox, and I can't watch the Super Bowl. To make matters worse, they tried to sneak in a rate increase without telling me. I discovered it when I logged into my online account. I tend to pay for several months at a time to avoid the hassle of bill-paying. Had I not gone online, I would never have known. TVMax is a fledgling operation. Its become evident that the only way they survive is by raising the rates on ""those who stay,"" to make up for the revenue lost by the scores of people like me that are leaving. I am done with them. I am joining the online revolution, replacing TVMax with Hulu, Vudu, and Netflix. Hulu is free, Netflix is $7.99, and Vudu offers $2 movie rentals. Each streams directly to your TV or PC, and don't require HDTV's. Thanks to the internet, we DO have a choice. Do yourself a favor, and RUN from TVMax. more

I will supply a short list of reasons to stay away. ~Added cinemax to my account without me asking. I was ignorant and trusted their stuff so I didn't catch it for a few months. ($80 loss for me) ~Showtime, HBO, HD Channel plus premium cable do not work when I need them too. (Sunday nights) ~Customer service is horrible. They promised me 3 free months of HBO after technical nightmares, catch was, they never actually credited me. Not gonna waste any more money and time complaining. Just take my word. tvmax is MISERABLE 10/5/2010

I haven't even gotten my tvmax set up yet, and I already hate it. When I first called, they said that my wait to get it set up was just under 2 weeks. Ok, great, that sucks, but i can get past that. Then they call about a week later and say that ""the technician is on the way to your house to set up your package"". I get excited and wait for about an hour and a half. NO ONE SHOWS UP. So, frustrated, I call the customer service number (which is quite possibly the worst in the country) and proceed to wait 35 minutes on hold because ""all of their lines are busy"". When I finally get on the phone with a real person (who was, surprisingly, very nice), she informs me that there is no explanation for why I got the call earlier and that they will not be able to set up my cable until the following monday (note: it is Tuesday today, a week after I ordered the servie). Needless to say, if my apartment building didn't have this shitty deal with tvmax, I would get another service, AND I still might switch to directTV. TvMax is AWFUL. DO NOT GET IT more

Tvmax is HORRIBLE!! 8/11/2010

I got tvmax because I wanted something faster than ATT Elite package (6mb down), since they dont offer uverse service in my apartments. Man I tell you at first this was a great idea. But after a few days I started to see what all the complaining was about. I am paying for a 10 meg package ( with basic cable tv ) , and I can't get speeds faster than 1.66mbps downstream after 8pm cst. I have called and called and called, they say they will send a tech out each time, but how many times do I have to call to the get issue resolved? Bottom line, dont get tvmax unless you're a very forgiving person and have money to waist. more

TX MAXX'd is Maxed out in worthless 8/4/2010

This is the second time to use there service. Seems they have paid off the apartment complexes in the houston area to keep there sorry service alive. Poor customer service is just the start. You have internet problems you talk to one person and get a story. Go to the tier 2 technicians (in another state) and you get a second story. Talk to the local tvmaxx office and you get a 3rd story. And all with ideas on why you don't have the internet working. more

I found the customer service personnel to be pretty good and helpful. However, the service provided is so poor, you will be on the phone with them all the time, and when it?s the service itself, and the low end equipment they are assisting you with, they can only do so much over the phone. And you will sit on hold for a while waiting to talk to somebody that can resolve the issue. Pros: customer service is ok at best Cons: very poor internet/cable service and low end equipment more
