Still love it after almost 40 years!!!! 1/9/2006

My family & I are natives to the Culver City/Los Angeles area and Tito's is a MUST HAVE!! I was relocated to the Pacific NW about 6 years ago but with every visit home to see family has to include trips to Tito's as well. My favorite is the Bean & Cheese burrito and 2 tacos plus each family member gets their own large salsa. When packing for So Cal I include empty mason jars to bring salsa home in. To those who don't like Tito's...I pity you. Tito's has been an ICON for years too bad you don't enjoy a good thing when you have it. The staff have always been friendly and boy do they hussle to get the food out...most of us could never put in a shift like theirs and survive to do it again the next day. Congrat's Tito's you deserve to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Very poor C.S. 12/5/2005

Although the food may be tasty, the customer service SUCKS. I WAS a loyal customer for 20 years, even turned other people on to Tito's. One day I dropped a BOX of food in the parking lot, because the box was not packed properly and I had another BOX and a bag. That was the second day, in a row, that I had gone there that week. The "manager" on the pedestal controlling the money, told me I could pay half price to replace my order, beacuse of her "profit margin". Needless-to-say, I have not been back. I tried to contact them through their website, and no one has responded, that was three (3) weeks ago. Pros: cheap eats Cons: customer service, parking, long lines more

Horrible Service, not vegetarian friendly!! 10/11/2005

I'm a vegetarian and I've gone to Tito's a few times and have eaten the cheese enchiladas....they were mediocre at best. One day I really wanted tacos so I decided as a quick fix I'd go to Tito's, get 3 tacos without meat, come home, add my own morningstar meat and it sounded like an awesome plan. I waited in line for about 15 minutes, got up to the window and they wouldn't give me tacos with no meat! The worst part about it is they wouldn't even explain why! They just shook their heads and walked away from me. I even asked to speak to a manager and this is how the manager treated me as well! I was astounded by the way I was treated and left in shock at this because it was completely unjustified and without reason. :-( more

Tito's rules 9/19/2005

I have been eating at Tito's for almost 40 years. After living all over the world, it is still my favorite comfort food to come home to. Upon arriving at LAX in July (after living in Japan for 2 years), the only request from my two 10 year olds was to take a cab to Tito's before our conecting flight-that is loyalty! The tacos and burrito's are wonderful and the salsa and fresh chips are to die for! I wish we had one in Virginia Beach! more

THE BEST 9/4/2005

Locals like myself have been doing take out here for years! You have to try this place at least once if you can find the parking to do so. I always have a Bean, Cheese, & Rice Burrito and once in awhile I'll have a cheese taco. The salsa is to die for and the crispy homemade chips...YUMMY This is a little slice of Mexican Heaven on the Westside! Pros: Prices, Food Cons: Parking, the waiting lines more

decent, but not awesome 8/27/2005

After 4 years of hearing hype, I finally went here with my boyfriend. Tacos were pretty good, but not great. The meat and bean burrito was delicious -- much better than the tacos. Definitely a good value, but there's better cheap Mexican food in LA. Pros: cheap, filling, fast Cons: greasy more

Best Food Ever! 6/3/2005

Tito's is simply fantastic and the fact that they have no less than 100 people in line at all hours of the day for over 50 years speaks for itself. The prices are comparable, if not better, than any other comparable joint and the food is unquestionably better. The tacos are the go-to dish, with just the right mix of greasiness and crispiness, while the burritos are packed with flavor. If I could only eat at one place for the rest of my life, I might just choose Tito's. Pros: Taste, Price, Quality Cons: Sometimes Slow more

Cheap food... In more than one way! 5/26/2005

Tito's Tacos was recommended to me by some friends. When I walked up to the taco facility, I thought I'd be in for a real treat. I ordered a beef burrito, a chicken tamale, a taco w/ cheese, and an order of refried beans. Disappointment #1 - Beef Burrito: The meat was tender, but the sauce they used was bland. Disappointment #2 - Chicken Tamale: The tamale was bland and dry. I used some salsa that came with my meal to rehydrate the tamale. Disappointment #3 - Taco w/ Cheese: Considering this is the item that everyone comes here for, I was saddened when I realized my taco had no flavor. Additionally, you had to pay for cheese. Tacos should be born with cheese! Disappointment #4 - Chips and Salsa: The chips were either too thick or stale. The salsa was good. Some good news: The refried beans were awesome! Pros: Refried Beans, Atmosphere Cons: Tacos, Chips more

I do not get the hype!! 4/27/2005

Since I've lived here I've heard about Titos. I would drive by it all the time, for over a year, and finally one day I stopped and brought home tacos for my boyfriend and I. *HE* loved them!!!! *I* thought "my Irish grandmother makes better tacos than this!!". Go figure. I think they are just too american. Alot like the tacos you get in the midwest, and way more like fast food than anything remotely resembling Mexican food. Not bad by any means, just not interesting enough for me to go back. Again, My boyfriend loved them though :-) Pros: price Cons: taste, the line more

Best hard tacos in L.A. 3/28/2005

Most tacos in L.A. are authentic Mexican-style tacos. That means they come in miniscule soft tortilla shells, heavy on the cilantro and onions, and with no cheese. That's great, if you like ""authentic"" tacos. But if you like hard-shelled tacos with cheese--perhaps something a little more Americanized--then Tito's may be the place for you. They serve up a cheap, tasty taco. The meat is kind of a shredded beef and they come with cheddar (I believe) cheese. Tito's also provides their own special salsa, which is not too hot or spicy. Tito's is usually very crowded. You can order outside or inside. To me, it seems like there is always a bigger line on the outside (and it's cold outside). So, I advise you to order inside. It's tough to find enough seating so plan on taking your tacos home. One last benefit, they give you a LOT of chips. Pros: tacos, cheap, diverse crowd Cons: lines of people, full parking lot more
