I don't know what it is about these tacos, but there's nothing like them. I'm not crazy about the other menu options, but must have a taco here regularly! more

Greasy food, cheap cheap cheap! 11/6/2006

Tito's is an institution of the area with lines at all hours. That doesn't mean that the food is spectacular. Its either hot and greasy, or cold and greasy. The guacamole is not guacamole, but a mix of avacado and sour cream. It's fine to fill your belly but nothing to shout about from the rooftops. Pros: Consistently average Cons: Lines, lines, lines... more

It's not gourmet, but it sure is tasty. 10/30/2006

You should know what to expect before you try Tito's. Noelio's review (below) hits it right on the head - great hard tacos. Not authentic, but unique and worth waiting in line for. My only complaint is that the parking is impossible. The best thing to do is drop someone off in front and then wait for the call to drive back around to pick them up. Oh, and here's something helpful to know...the guacamole is a sauce, not the chunky avocado dip like you night expect. It took me a while to over that (because I LOVE guacamole) but now I look forward to it as part of the experience. AND REMEMBER TO BRING CASH! Pros: Cheap and tasty Cons: Parking is terrible, cash only more

Best Tacos and Bean and Cheese Burritos! Worth the line! 10/9/2006

I have been going to Tito's since I was born! The tacos, and B&C burritos are seriously my favorite in all of LA. Oh and the meat, bean, cheese and rice burrito is awesome it's just HUGE! The tamales, etc. are okay not all that but the tacos make up for it! And the salsa is fantastic, guac is good but not chunky at all. If you like spicy make sure you ask for the jalepeno salsa, OMG SO GOOD! The chips are great too! Try the inside line it's much faster! Pros: best taco, cheap, open late Cons: bad parking, long lines more

YUK 10/4/2006

Absolutely the worst taco ever. You couldn't do any worse at home. That they are still in business is really a mind blower. People that think these tacos are so good must not venture far from home. Taco Bell make a better product. Do eat here. Save yur money and gas and just go to Taco Bell you'll be doing yourself a favor. They should tear the place downand make room for more parking at Johnie's. YUK!!!!!!!!!! I can't warn you enough but if yu go don't say I didn't warn you. Pros: Absoluely nothing Cons: The everything about the place. more

get ready to wait in line and tip the lady that helps you! 10/4/2006

Titos is the best!!! After reading the last review I felt I had to defend it. First of all this is not healthy style baja fresh type food nor is it authentic- if you want good ""al carbon"" tacos go to Mexico. If you want some good greasy late night food go to Titos! (Just don't do it every night cause you will pack on some serious pounds)The chips and salsa are the bomb and the burritos and tamales are pretty good too. I've been going there for years and I am getting so hungry thinking about it I might just ditch this top ramen I just made and get my myself a burrito and chips from titos! Pros: so good its addictive Cons: so good its addictive more

You'll probably hate it the first time you go 9/24/2006

I grew up in Culver City and hated this place. The lines, the ambiance and the parking are all awful. The first five or so times I went (which took about ten years to accomplish) seemed equally bad to me. My entire life I heard how people loved it and I just didn't get it. Then one day (I guess my sixth try) the food tasted good. I started going occasionally and now I love the place! I too have become one of these nutty people who stand in line for 30 minutes late at night to get Titos. You'll either hate this place or become one of its loyal followers. Im still not crazy about their enchiladas, but their beef taco with cheese covered in guacamole is great! Pros: Food, Inexpensive Cons: Parking, Ambiance more

Lives up to the hype 9/22/2006

When I moved to L.A. about a year ago, the first thing my friend said was, "You HAVE to go to Tito's Tacos!!!" And go I did and proceeded to have the most amazing tacos that I've ever had! There have been so many restaurants that have been hyped up and fall way below expectations but Tito's Tacos goes above and beyond any rave reviews it has received. So I'll pass on the words my friend said to me - YOU HAVE TO GO TO TITO'S TACOS!!! more

what could they be smoking? 9/21/2006

Locals tell you this is THE place to have a taco - seem to rave about it. They're cheap, they're hot, and you had to wait on a long line to have one. However, as a food item, they're truly barely passable, a small notch higher than Taco Bell, but greasier. My theory is that local palette tastes for these tacos are formed in early childhood, and through time add something to the misty sentimentality of the first kiss or high school basketball competition when a trip to Tito's sealed the night. If you have a delicate stomach or a taste for ""cuisine"", keep driving. Pros: Cheap. And a part of local lore. Cons: Local lore undeserved. more
