Ultimate in junk mexican food... 9/2/2006

Greasy tacos made out of mystery meat, lard fried chips and some awesome hot runny salsa made of tomatoes and nothing else. Just food at its best and dirt cheap. No wonder there is a line at 1:00 AM. Veggie options??? You vegetarians are a real PAIN!!!! GET LOST! And service?????? This place is a TACO STAND!!!! I swear some of you LA jerks think you deserve to be waited on hand and foot no matter where you go. GO TO A 4-STAR PLACE if you want your butt kissed! These people can barely speak english and what, you want your table decrumbed? Tito's is just addictive, that is all I can say. No, it is not the authentic variety mexican haunt, go to the Farmers Market on Fairfax for that. They got an amazing authentic mexican place there inside the market but I don't remember the name. There is a line waiting at all times of the day under the freeway to get a taste of Titos Tacos. The menu is limited, but the only thing really worth trying there is the Taco (filled with Ground Beef, Cheese is an extra 0.40 cents). I wasn't too impressed with either the yellow stale Chips, lackluster Salsa or watery Guacamole. Disappoining was when, despite witnessing a strict enforcement of sanitary gloves worn by all employees, a fingernail snuck its way into my beans and cheese enchilada. Tito's is awesome. You can get tasty tacos or burritos for a reasonable price. The food is good, the service is fast. All of the employees have been there forever! Don't let the long lines fool you -- they move quickly. Pros: Good food, fast service, cheap eats Cons: Parking lot is way too small for all the traffic. more

After hearing so much about Tito's and riding by it many times, I finally went for lunch. The line went surprisingly fast, and the service was efficient. I would say the food was slightly above average, but I have had much better cheap mexican food in L.A. I was a little disappointed overall.... Excellent Tacos on the Go 6/14/2006

I recently relocated to LA and was told this was an "LA Landmark"...so I decided to check it out. I was a little skeptical after seeing the dumpy building and take-out style order line, but I left the establishment more than impressed. Parking was a bit of an issue, but well worth the wait. The menu was very affordable, and the ingredients were fresh. I eat a lot of mexican food and this is my new favorite place! The shredded beef tacos are their specialty, and though simple, they were excellent. I'd recommend this place to anyone. more
