The Lawn Mower Shop Inc

I am a small business owner in the landscaping indusrty. I figured I would give The Lawnmower Shop an opportunity to PROVIDE ME THEIR SERVICE. I figured I could order the parts on line, but I would give them a chance and pay their (higher) prices, in exchange for their SERVICE. I have ordered parts from them on 4-30-2014 from counter person Jessica. I have stopped in twice since to ASK THEM if my parts have come in. I never received a call from NO ONE, not even to tell me they were back ordered or when they are EXPECTED in. If this is the way they run their business, I can not imagine what their SERVICE DEPARTMENT must be like. I regretfully will not be using THE LAWNMOWER SHOP INC for any reason. At this point and time, I am still waiting for the parts I have PAID IN FULL. more

Wow - its seems that people either love or hate this small business. The 2-3 times I have been there to pick up parts, I had a very good experience. They had what I needed at a very reasonable price. For example I needed a fuel priming bulb for an Echo weedwacker that I bought at home depot 10 years ago. I think it cost me $3. Not bad considering my option was to order it on the internet and wait. What I do notice is the many customers at the store simply don't have a clue about equipment and expect the store to educate them while other customers wait in line. This has got to be one of those frustrating low margin businesses. I'll buy my next piece of new equipment from them and am just glad they have not thrown in the towel. Plus they are open 7-days a week. more

Used to love this place, but since the girls took over it's awful. Indifferent, slow service, outrageous prices. I think they make their money on the non-refundable $45 they charge to look at your machine since they can't expect everyone to pay their high repair charges. more

I had a similar bad experience, rude counter girl, yelling screaming and cursing at me. Fixed the wrong problem, would not answer my questions and and then told me that I was not smart enough to understand what they were talking about. more

Jen does work there she is the extremely rude counter girl who cursed at me and yelled at me for their mistake. I told them to make no repairs until I authorized them but, that did not stop them from calling saying that my tractor was done!!! When I complained Jen proceeded to scream at me call me stupid and a liar, then when I refused to cave she threatened to keep my tractor and sell it. This was the worst service I have ever recieved, PLEASE do yourself a favor STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Looks like Jen and Betty work for this place because I just picked up my mower FOR THE THIRD TIME and it still won't start. When I complained and I asked why they have not been able to fix it after three tries and 6 weeks the rude young lady behind the desk told me it was not her fault I purchased a "Home Depot Special".I told this to the manager "Steve I think" and he just laughed it off. I will never come back here again. I took it to Astro rentals on Rt. 22 and they did what the Lawnmower shop was unable to do in 6 weeks, they fixed it for 50 bucks and I had it back the next day. I wish I had read these reviews before I went to the Lawnmower Shop and it's sad that they have employees making up positive reviews. more

At The Lawnmower Shop I think they do a great job. The work they do is better then better, it is beyond me on why people would give such bad reports about The Lawnmower Shop. The main thing that I love about this place is that it offers you early to late hours. When i get out of work I will always be able to get to the shop since they close at 8. Also this company is a family owned buisness. They give you both quality and qantity. P.s my JD always comes back in tip top running condition!!!!!!!! I will always continue to come to The Lawnmower Shop. more

The Lawnmower Shop is the best place i have ever been to.. The girls that run the counter are very knowledgeable.. They have newer been rude to me ever. Ive been dealing with them for the past 11 years... I will contunue to do businees with them forever.. As fro the gentleman that got cursed at i wonder if this is the same person when i was there... If so this gentleman was cursing at this woman for 20 minutes while his wife stood there without saying a word.. Then the girl got a little upset.. It was over a part that was on backorder and she tried to explain to the gentleman why it was taking so long but he didnt want to hear it.. So as for reviews go, maybe people should hear both sides of everything!! I will stii be a return customer for life!! more

The Lawnmower Shop of Bound Brook, NJ is one of the poorest run small businesses I have ever experienced in Central New Jersey. The employees are rude and not very knowledgeable regarding the products and services they provide. I've often found myself waiting over 15-20 minutes for a simple answer to a question regarding pricing or inventory. The work that I've had done there is never completed on time. There is never a phone call to let you know that they're behind schedule on their deadlines. After waiting over a month for a part to come in, and being told it should be in within the week, I questioned the clerk about the status of the part. She stated,? We don't make the f***ing parts what do you want us to do about it?" I will never shop at this establishment again and would not recommend them to anyone. more

What a waste of time it was to go to this shop. Incompetent personel, broken timeframes and crazy prices are just some of the problems at this shop. I will never go back again. more

That first review must have been written by someone who work at the Lawnmower Shop, because giving this place 5 stars is very dishonest.\r First of all the young workers at the counter of this shop are incredibly rude. While I waited in line I personally saw them tell 3 different customers who were simply trying to get their mowers fixed that ?This is what you get for buying your stuff at Home Depot?. This shop tries to squeeze every penny they can out of you. They will tell you that they ?Need to order parts? and that ?you?re not covered by warranty because of physical damage?, which I found out later was a lie from another repair shop that charged me less than one third of what this place charged me, AND they got it right the first time, unlike the lawnmower shop. Beware. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. There are plenty of other repair shops in the area that won?t rob you blind. more

I have been dealing with this place for years now... They are so polite and quick. They come to my house and pick up my mower for a very fair price and have it repaired or yearly serviced fast. I wouldn't take my mower ANYWHERE else no matter where I got it from. My neighbors love Bound Brook Mowers as well. more

I have a troy-bilt mower that I purchased through Lowes. It has not been the most reliable by far (thanks Consumer Reports), and it has need needed server every year. I bought an extended warranty through Lowes and the service center is the Lawn Mower Shop in Bound Brook. Every year, without fail, the Lawn Mower Shop does NOT respond to the calls or faxes from Lowes Service. It is only when I call and complain that they send someone out. Even then, they NEVER fix the problem. They replace the battery, but it doesn't change the fact that weeks later the new battery will no longer hold a charge. There is a root cause that the Lawn Mower Shop either cannot or will not fix. I will go out of my way to never have to deal with them again. more
