My move went very smooth, both my movers, Dave and Tony, were very professional, courteous, and fast! My move was quoted at 5 to 6 hours and it actually only took 4 1/2, and I only paid for 4 1/2no hidded costs or fees. My expectations were exceeded, RoadRunner is the best moving company in the Boston area! Pros: Super fast, took special care of mattress and clothing, everything wrapped and tied more

I moved last week and utilized Roadrunner Moving Company. It was the most efficient move I ever experienced. The movers were fast, effective and quite efficient. I have used Roadrunner twice in the past year..once for a long distance move from New York to Massachusetts and again recently for a short move within Massachuesetts. They were very accomodating to my schedule and made me feel at ease during the packing process. The crew is great! They were very timely, professional and friendly. I have a young child and am a little obsessive about her furniture and they took such good care of protecting it (and everything else) during the move which was a big relief. Pros: Very professional and they treated everything with care as if it were their own. Cons: None! more

Originally used 3 years ago to go from Charlestown to Charlestown, this time used them longer distance from Charlestown to South Shore. Absolutely great, would recommend to anyone. Very diligent about wrapping and packaging furniture so as not to damage anything. Martin came over, assessed what we had, and gave us a binding estimate, and our final cost could not exceed 10% greater than the estimate. The 4 movers were very pleasant, happy to be doing their job, and committed to not damaging our stuff. Would recommend to anyone. In December our condo in Cambridge was severely damaged due to a fire. We needed to find temporary housing while the condo is being rebuilt. Roadrunner was one good thing in a string of not so good things happening in our lives. Dave was pleasant and friendly and provided a sense of calm in the midst of chaos. The company kept in good touch, provided guidance on how to secure parking permits in the towns we were moving from and to, and worked around some scheduling glitches. They came to our condo with no heat and no water to pack up our belongings, and then returned in a couple weeks once we had secured a new place to live. The guys we worked with were efficient, professional, and prompt. In the move, we had one glass break which they offered to replace with a gift certificate to a local store, which was a perfect solution for me since it was the store where we had purchased our glassware. My move was complicated - the timing was precarious, and part of the stuff went to storage, and part to a new place - although the location was unclear. And I had a lot of heavy stuff - a piano, an etching press, pieces of stone, many books, and plenty of mysterious objects - all this done efficiently in two days separated by a week. Roadrunner stayed with me through all the date changes and fog of destination from my first call to them in August of 2007, through the actual move at the end of January, 2008. Their cost estimate, in spite of all my uncertainties, was accurate. On the first day of the move, the crew showed up in good spirits, and on time, and went to work with a will - they packed up my kitchen with care, and did not make a dent or scratch in the painted wood flooring in my old place. Everything went like clockwork. I was definitely in experienced and thoughtful hands! At the last minute, as my just found new place was on a second floor, a crane was needed. So on the second day, as the last boxes were emptied out of the old place, we went to the new one, and the crane arrived just on time, and moved my piano upstairs without a wrinkle. The crew, again, was great! Warm, efficient, and cheerful - at a such stressful time they couldn't have been more supportive. And follow through was great too - when I'd emptied my boxes, they came to pick them up within the one hour time window they'd promised! Roadrunner will definitely be my choice when I move again! Every single aspect of hiring this moving company was amazing. When I first called to get an estimate, they recommended the same specifics as other companies had (1 truck; 4 guys) for the same time (8 hours), but came in at almost $100 less per hour! Then, unlike other companies, they sent a guy to my house just to look my place over and give me a more specific time estimate. He was on time, friendly, professional, and very accomodating of the fact that I was talking to him and getting lunch on the table for my two-year-old. He even gave me helpful packing advice on tricky-to-pack items to help me save money. The day of the move couldn't have been better. The team of four friendly, hard-working guys showed up on time and got right to business. They were efficient, moving quickly and never pausing to catch their breath. They were extremely careful of walls, doors, and our furniture. The only time the paused was to make sure they were placing boxes and furniture where I wanted them. They were done HOURS earlier than they anticipated, saving us hunderds of dollars. They did all of this with smiles and cracking the occasional joke. They made moving a joy. This past weekend, Road Runner moved my office across downtown Boston. They were far and away the best choice to get the job done for a number of good reasons. Firstly, the service on the office side was impeccable. Prior to the move, we kept changing our plan and adding more packing materials, but they were always very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Then, come move day, the team was amazing, they moved quickly, carefully, and always with a bit of good humor. We had a lot of fun! But more importantly, we got the job done perfectly. There wasn't even one minor glitch the whole day. We ran pretty far into the evening and practically had to turn the guys away until the next day (they came back to finish the job on a Sunday, wow!) because they were so enthusiastic about getting us all set up as quickly as possible. The pricing was the best (I did a lot of cost analysis beforehand) and incredibly fair on the other side, after the work had been done. They even disposed of some unneeded furniture for us for very cheap (I'm sure they underestimated the weight to be charged by a good bit). I highly recommend this company for any sort of move (I'm sure their home moves are just as smooth as their office moves). Professional, highly-skilled, swift, and wonderfully friendly people! This is my first review ever and I feel that I have to write something. I called Roadrunner on Thursday, Jan 17 2008 since I was planning to move from Boston to Long Island, NY in one day on Sunday. Most moving companies don't work on Sundays but Roadrunner does and I really appreciated on that. The itinerary of collecting my stuff was complicated: Cambridge, MA to Somerville, MA to Somerset, NJ then finally to West Islip, NY. The detour to NJ was decided rather hastily on Friday but the receptionists at the phone were very helping in trying to accommodate the additional trip. The moving crew was just awesome --- polite, careful about details and delacate/heavy subjects, and besides that they had to drive from 8AM to 11PM on Sunday! Highly recommended! Pros: Helpful, friendly, able to accommodate customer's need more

These guys were terrific from start to finish. Helpful on the phone, both in terms of helping me figure out what I needed to do and in helping me save money while I did it. The crew that showed up to pack me was efficient, friendly, and had the same great sense of humor as the guys I spoke to over the phone. more

The move with Roadrunner was different from any other we move we made. We were very impressed by Dave's style and understanding that we wanted to choose Roadrunner right after the initial visit - before we even got the estimate. When the estimate came it beat everyone elses. They did the whole job from A-Z themselves. The same crew that packed our home also drove the trucks and assembled our furniture. They were polite, efficient, timely - in fact ahead of time! The crew chief, Rick and his team were amazing... They honored the dates as well as the quotes even though the weight came out higher. I am not exaggerating when I say that Roadrunner exceeded our expectations with our recent move! They were very prompt, efficient and highly professional and also with affordable rates. They remembered me and treated me like a queen! Whenever I had a question they emailed me back or called immediately. I have never experienced such good customer service anywhere. The movers were amazing...they worked so hard and so fast and didn't even stop to eat the lunch I bought them. I spied one of them (Paul) dusting off my dirty bookcase! That is what makes them special...they go the extra mile, doing thoughtful things that are no other company would think of doing. These guys totally rocked, moving our 3 bed home in a SNOWSTORM in 8.5 hours. Organized, personable, professional, the works. They handled our stuff with care, as if every item were a treasured relic. Dave, our estimator was fabulous; very detailed, very thorough, and extremely helpful in the logistics of moving, giving us tons of tips for gathering boxes and supplies and how to label things to minimize chaos.
