Best

I have been eating at Sushi Thai for over 10 years now. I have also eaten sushi all over the Triangle, as well as the world. The quality of food/service is as good now, as day one...

Worst

The food is good, the service is ok, the prices are high and your kids are NOT welcome here! Cons: Not kid friendly, overpriced, staff not friendly

Good sushi and food worthy of a 4, but 5/26/2012

Good sushi and food worthy of a 4, but I had a bad customer service experience with a hair rolled inside a sushi roll. I get it...it happens, but I didn't expect to have the whole staff agree that the right customer service was to remove only the hairy piece, tell me to be careful with the other pieces and to pay full price even though at least one piece wasn't edible. The hair wasn't on the plate but rather sticking out from the end piece of the roll. Pros: null Cons: null more

A staple on where to eat tonight. Pros: null Cons: null more

Sad 4/28/2011

It is sad in Raleigh that people who have eaten sushi for years should know the difference between "fresh fish" meaning never frozen caught daily and "IQF blocks" meaning frozen blocks of fish which has been frozen for sometimes for more then a years. I was at sushi bar with friend and all the sushi was just bland and had no taste, When I asked sushi chef if their tuna was "fresh tuna" and reply was "Yes" but end of conversation what he meant was frozen tuna but it is freshly thawed. I used to work for sushi distribution Co. out of Baltimore Md. and I know well that IQF blocks are usually used by supermarkets or buffet places to save money. Usually upscale sushi place will use fresh whole fish which will bring out flavor of real sushi. I am Chinese American not Japanese but I love to eat sushi from place where sushi is prepared from strong foundation and I wish people in in Raleigh start to experience the same. I am not saying food here at Sushi Thai was bad but maybe it is time to compete quality with Sono, Waraji and few others in this area. Most sad thing about it is some reviewers writing reviews and they don't even have a clue what they are writing about. more

Best Thai/Sushi place around! 4/27/2011

I have been eating at Sushi Thai for over 10 years now. I have also eaten sushi all over the Triangle, as well as the world. The quality of food/service is as good now, as day one! They must be doing something right, to stay in business for so long! more

Used to be good 4/14/2011

This restaurant used to be one of my favorite in Cary. more

Average 3/18/2011

For Sushi I rate this place little below average due to quality of ingredients they use as in fish but other hand their Thai food is little above average. Service can get much better by educating customer instead of being know it all. Stay with their Thai food is my recommendation. more

Only for Thai 3/14/2011

Good Thai dishes but for sushi maybe just rolls and stay away from Nigeri or Sashimi. Owner is Thai and their Thai food is good but seems lack in quality in sushi side of it their usual selection. Frozen Izumedai (frozen talapia), frozen Saku tuna, frozen wt. tuna..etc pretty sad selection. more

We love Sushi-Thai 2/23/2011

We have been coming to Sushi-Thai for years. We love the Lobster Roll, the boats when we have a group, Sashimi, and Sushi. It always delicious and we have never had a bad experience. Everyone there is friendly. Tried other restaurants in the area and none of them are comparable. Lunch specials here are great too. more

Don't waste your time on this below-average restaurant 7/28/2010

Thai green curry was delicious but much spicier than we had requested. We asked for a medium level of spice and it was so spicy my mother couldn't even finish it. My sister ordered pad thai noodles and they were dry. I ordered sushi and it was average. Our waitress was absolutely awful. She was so cold and acted as if she really didn't want to be there. She looked miserable and since this was my first visit, I don't think I should be going back. Don't waste your time. The sushi at Mura in North Hills is the same price and tastes a million times better. Or if you want noodles or Thai curry go to Red Bowl in Cary. Their green Thai curry is to die for. more

What's happened? 6/29/2010

This place used to be good. But the last two times I got sushi here it was pretty bad. Pros: Close to my home Cons: Bad sushi more

My Favorite Resturant 6/7/2010

Sushi Thai has been my favorite resturant for years. So far I haven't found any place that beats Sushi Thai for quality and price. I love the boats, spicy tuna rolls, super white tuna nigiri style and they have the best ginger salad dressing around! The staff has always been super and I would recommend this place to anyone. Actually, I highly recommend it to everyone! Pros: Excellent Sushi! more

Pretty Disappointed 5/20/2010

I'll start by saying I dined at the Sushi Thai of f Lake Boone several times over my time as a student at NCSU. Always ate sushi, always great sushi. As a young professional I live closer to Cary, and was excited when I read the reviews for this location. I took my girlfriend there for her birthday last night. As usual I ordered a "boat for two," containing a large quantity of assorted sushi and sashimi. I was impressed with the fried sushi rolls, but the philly roll was overwhelmed by cream cheese.and some of the sashimi tasted fishy. Sushi grade fish does not ordinarily smell or taste fishy. Some of the sashimi was frozen in the middle (or at least hard and ice cold) and the ginger was not shaved nearly thin enough. I still gorged myself and had a good time, but quality sushi is an emphasis for me when I dine at a sushi restaraunt. My advice is to avoid their sashimi and order some of the more intricate specialty rolls. This rules out the "boats" which are my favorite menu items. As far as Im concerned, if I am ordering individual rolls then I might as well go to sushi blues or kanki. Pros: boats of sushi, personable hostess, no wait Cons: not best sushi, wait staff, cold dining area more

Great Thai Food! 5/8/2010

Love this restaurant! Has phenomenal food. The best sushi and Thai food in Cary. Cute restaurant and usually not overly crowded. If you like Thai or Sushi I recommend you try this place! Pros: Great Food! Good service nice environment Cons: Sometimes too busy (loud) of Friday nights more

Solid value 4/11/2010

the staff are quite pleasant and I'd be shocked if they were less than professional. Some of the sushi appears pre prepped and the Thai food is decent. I've dined a number of times with friends and don't find the food more than average. It is priced reasonably and most find it solid. I think if you have a broader view of Thai cuisine you'd see this as average food....but some will enjoy...our choices are limited. more

Best of the Best 3/22/2010

This is my families favorite place to go. They have great food and a great staff. As for the below comment of "BEING KICKED OUT". Maybe people should understand that the way businesses make money is by serving people. They obviously were done and Sushi-Thai is a busy place (because of the quality of food) My wife and I have gladly waited over a hour to enjoy this experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone. If you want great food and a fun staff, try this it is worth a try. more

Sushi-Thai Cary is not customer friendly 8/17/2009

I went out to Sushi-Thai with my husband and a couple of friends whom we had not seen in a long time. We wanted to eat Sushi and sit and talk and catch up. We finished our meal and sat and talked for a few minutes. NOT even 5 minutes had gone by when we started getting stares from the staff. Then our waiter told us if we could leave because they had a big party coming in and they needed our table. We will NEVER go back due to the horrible experience of being KICKED OUT!!! Any good place would know to make their customers happy and they certainly did not. more

Sushi-Thai Cary is Good 7/22/2009

Being a South East Asian..i can really know the actual taste of a Thai food and this place surely does has the exquisite origin taste of Thai food. The Tom Yam Seafood Soup ,Shrimp in Blanket and the Fried Rice is so good.It has stronger spices than a usual Chinese fried rice and defly recommended for whose who wants to try another new regional flavours. more

Sushi-Thai Cary is a great Thai Restaurant 7/8/2009

We went to Sushi Thai Last year and the food is great. It is one of the best Thai restaurants in the triangle area. The Sushi is great too. We didn't quite like the Japanese food. But it was not because of the restaurant, but we generally did not like Japanese food anywhere here. It is slightly on the expensive side. Each entree is like 12-14 $. The Sushi boat is a good choice for appetizer if you go there as a group of say 6-8 people. more
