I absolutely loved this place! The girl at the front was very nice. Jayson Morgan took great care of me before my special event. From start to finish the service was fantastic. It was nice to be treated like I was a VIP and not just another body walking in the door. I left with a fantastic color and wonderful cut! Thanks and I will be back with friends! I was dissatisfied with both my haircuts and highlights at this salon. This happened on more than one occasion. When I called to tell them I was unhappy, they said their policy was that if you didn't call them within 10 days, you had to PAY to have them "fix" what they did to your hair. They are over-priced and have had a complete turnover in employees. The management is extremely rude and unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone and I will NEVER go back there again. more

After being a customer of Studio Gaven for three years, I decided to find another salon. I was repeatedly dissatisfied with both my haircuts and color at this salon. My stylist did not listen to me at all. I even brought pictures. I have very thin hair and have been to numerous salons in Tennessee and NEVER found someone that had the experience to handle my hair till I found Kim Lear at Studio Gavin. Her experience and knowledge of my hair type was right on. She gave me some ideas and I went with it knowing my hair was in her hands. I left the salon a "happy camper" and still going to her till this day. She is awesome and has the best personality. I highly recommend going and at least trying it out to see what the outcome will be cause you will be overwelmed. I will never go to another salon but to Studio Gavin. I am super picky about my hair. It's pretty straight with just enough wave to p*ss me off. Amanda Muniz at Studio Gaven is a freakin' genius. Her haircuts are precise, modern and grow out beautifully. I get my hair cut about every 8-9 weeks and it looks great all the way through. I have tried other salons in Nashville and spent some serious dough trying to find a good stylist and Amanda is the ONE. I've been going to see her for about 2 years and she listens and adapts. I moved to Nashville one year ago. I have always been extremely particular with my very long hair. After some bad experiences with Aveda Salons, I called Studio Gaven and asked for a "man" who likes to work with long hair. Jason Kennedy was recommended. I loved it and now I continue to go there. I love it every single time. He fixed the hole that was cut into my hair and the bad highlight job Aveda did before. He does exactly what you ask him to do and it looks natural grows out nicely and is totally low maintenance. I can only recommend Jason . Pros: great results more

I've been going to Studio Gaven for years and I love it. Both Bethany Kirby and Jason Kennedy are great to work with. I have heard wonderful things about many of the stylists and I wouldn't hesitate to go to any of them. They are highly trained and do not push products the way other salons do. I would definitely recommend Studio Gaven to anyone -- there are so many stylists to choose from. You will absolutely find one that you love. Question: Who's the best hair stylist at Studio Gaven?? Answer: Patience Barton!! She has brought life back into my hair. I am not originally from Nashville so I was very nervous to let just anyone style my hair. Now that I have Patience as a stylist... she's the only person that I allow to work on my hair, and when I have family in from out of town I take them straight to her when they need their hair done. Patience really takes time to explain every product that she's using on your hair and why she recommends it for outside use. She was off one day on her way out of town, but was still able to meet me at Studio Gaven to help me get the right products(RedKin shampoo/conditioner & Kerastas) for my new hair color... Now that's a true stylist (keeping her clients happy in and out of the salon). Not only is Patience a great hair stylist she does make-up too! She had my skin looking flawless to match the beautiful style, cut and color of my hair!! Studio Gaven made the right decision with choosing such a friendly, knowledgeable, patient, beautiful stylist Patience Barton to add to their team! Pros: Great Hair care, clean, nicely decorated. LOVE this place....as close to a nyc stylist I have found in the area. I actually drive about 2 hours each way for my appt.'s but its worth it. Everyone was very nice and accommodating on both occasions. I really don't understand the complaints about price because it was actually only 30 to 40 dollars more than I pay back home in a very small town. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. And with Eric and Studio Gaven I received beautiful color and cut along with laughter and conversation. Love Eric, he's the best. Pros: Beautiful hair Cons: none more

I went to Studio Gaven because it was recommended to me by a co-worker. I haven't gotten my hair professionally styled in approx. a year! Nevertheless, Patience Barton was the stylist doing my hair. I will say upon arrival 2 ladies at the desk, neither one greeted me at all, and I stood there for a while waiting for something, and there were no other customers up there but me! Patience just happened to walk by and welcomed me with a smile. She was very friendly and professional asking me about the "history of my hair", and I told her the horror stories of previous stylists. She recommended some hair care products because I had extreme breakage. When she finished, I looked like Beyonce! It was so light and straight (I naturally have big wavy hair). I was so impressed. I will be back! Patience is awesome. However, the prices are a bit steep, but well worth the buck. I changed hair stylist after being with the same one for 18yrs. I was very nervous. Then I met Jim. He is the greatest. I will never go anywhere else again. He gets the cut and color perfect everytime. And I am in and out in 1.5 hours which beats the 3 hours it was taking. The problem is I enjoy talking to Jim so much I am going to have to slow him down... I love this salon. I had long since forgotten that this is my day of beauty, and I dont have to do anything but sit there and let him work his magic... more

Finally, after trying 4 high-end salons, I found a home at Studio Gavin with Jamie Sprott! I have difficult, curly hair that had been color-treated very poorly. Jamie fixed the color on the first visit...goodbye brassy! Put in some VERY subtle high-lights and gabe me a beautiful cut. In subsequent visits, I've been treated like a queen and walk out looking like a million bucks! Jamie knows what she's doing and is fun and funny, too! I've never felt like the place was "clubby" or "snobby" like many Nashville-area salons! Very professional, great products and knowledgeable colorists and stylists. To make my curly hair look smooth and swingy is quite a feat, and they know how to do it here! Of course, my cut looks great when it curls naturally, too...Thanks Jamie! I have had my hair foiled by Eric in this salon twice in the last 6 months...I always get so many compliments about how shiny my hair is...Eric is so much fun!! I recently went to Studio Gaven for the first time. I've been on the search for "the perfect salon" for some time. I've tried most of the best places in Nashville and I've spent anywhere from $130-$300 for cut and highlight. When I walked in I was pleased with the atmosphere - very current looking place with great products out front. The front desk people were very nice and greeted me right away. After I changed, I met D'Leigh, who did my hair. She was wonderful!! She spent a lot of time talking to me about my hair - what I liked and disliked. She even repeated what I told her to make sure she understood my concerns. She did a full highlight and cut (I have blonde hair) and both were terrific. The blonde has depth - she used two colors and finished my hair with a glaze. The cut was also just what I asked for. I've received many compliments and will certainly go back to D'Leigh. I would highly recommend giving her a try! By the way, the price was very fair! Pros: Service, skill level, products, cleanliness, fair prices Cons: none more

I travel all over the US for work and have had massages everywhere. I found Robin at this salon by a friend who said she was the best. I like that Robin does several types of massage, and changes them as to what I need. She has made a real improvement on my back and neck problems. I don't even get massages out of town now, I don't need to. I am so glad I found her, and I will follow her anywhere! You owe it to yourself to try her. I drive from Dickson every two weeks to have my nails done by Rheonna, the best nail tech in TN, everyone always asked where I get my nails done, they look so natural. I have also started having my hair color and cut done there and love it! Finally...the perfect hair color! Now they have added Massage to their services, and I can't wait to try her, I hear she's amazing. I love that i can get it all done in one great salon. They make you feel very welcome, comfortable and go out of their way to make sure you are happy...I love that. Location is easy to get to, parking is convienent, prices are what you would expect for a high-end salon with the talent they have there. AND...they serve wine with all your services! I just had my 1st experience with Studio Gaven and can say it is generally over-priced and over-rated. I have had my naturally curly hair cut in some of the best salons across the South and one really posh one in Spain. No matter the cost, the best ones make you feel as if you are getting your money's worth. I am sorry to say this is not the case at Studio Gaven. I wanted something special for my 30th High School Reunion and so decided to splurge. I wanted some highlights and a cut. I got a few foils on the top and barely a trim - again just on top. I sat under the hood dryer for 10 minutes while the stylist worked on someone else, then I was done. Where the $200 total bill came from is anybody's guess. I have written an email to the salon telling them I was disappointed and - no response. Pros: I can say I went there????? Cons: Very over priced more

Just want to say how wonderful Jason Kennedy is. He does great with colouring and cutting. My hair has always looked great . He is the sweetest and most concerned person. I would not go to anyone else. He has done my hair for several years now and I have always been pleased with the results. He makes this older woman look 10 years younger. I haven't cut my hair for two years. Obviously, I was very nervous about getting a hair cut again. I found Studio Gaven on Citysearch, and the reviews gave me some confidence. However, I'm very disappointed with my hair cut. The stylist appeared unconcerned about how my hair turned out. I guess she thinks that it's fine. The front looks fine but the back of my head is a disaster. It took her only 20 minutes to cut and blow-dry my hair. She did not even style it. It looks as though she had some other things beside my head on her mind. Anyhow, the hair cut cost me $61which I would be happy to pay if the cut was good. Needless to say, I think that I can get the same cut for $15. My hair looks heavy and flat and I'm very unhappy. Maybe the other stylists do a good job, but certainly not this one.
