Had video monitors installed in headrest and a speaker box reworked to seal it to attain maximum bass. Everything was fanstastic from Charles working with me choosing the components to Scott doing his magic in installing the goodies. Completely satisfied and wouldn't go anywhere else. i am an installer myself and when ever i need the high end equipment i go to tristate. ive been a customer since i was about 11 years old and now im 31 been a minute. anytime i have a question i can always call my boys to get the answer. more

The unit (Parrot 3222LS-Color) was installed on time, exactly as predicted and scheduled. The service, both sales and installation, was pleasant and professional. The only negative aspect had nothing to do with the merchant ... the documentation which accompained the unit is deplorable ... I had to spend entirely too much time on the Internet to have basic questions answered that the documentation lacked. more

Sales was very helpful in choosing a unit (in-dash radio) that had the features I wanted and a few I didn't know I wanted. Installation was prompt and quick if problematic. I took two quick trips back to the shop to fix issues. In the end, though, everything is great. more

the employee who helped me was extremely nice and helpful. i enjoyed the waiting area-comfortable, had internet connection. i'm so happy, also, that the charge to install a remote start was taken off my total since i already had one. after getting home, i shook my car to test my alarm and it didn't go off. when i called to speak to someone, he was not helpful and it made me worried that even though i got the alarm in case my wheels were stolen again, the alarm would not go off should it happen again. he was not reassuring and couldn't explain the system to me. i also asked about changing the sensitivity of the alarm from my keychain (like i was told in the store) and he told me i could not, which confused me. overall, i was happy, i just need someone to clarify my questions and i'll call or stop in to get that. more

Price and quality 11/16/2009

I needed a pair of car speakers, called the car dealer who didn't know what size the speakers even were. Called Best Buy, they were more confusing then a politician on Election Day. Some other crook wanted to charge me $9.00 to tell me what size speakers I had. An online mechanics answering service. Then I called Marlowe at Sounds of Tri State. Marlowe is The Man! He found out what size speakers the car had within 30 seconds and said they would beat any price. I looked up a price, went to the store and Marlowe the Man helped me pick out a great pair of speakers for less then Not Best Buys price. They suck doorknobs and will no longer get any of my money as long as Sounds of Tri State is around. more

Delayed Installation/missing parts/extremely courteous service 11/15/2009

I went in on a Thursday and spoke with a very friendly and courteous salesman who sold me a new stereo system. The next day I brought my car in and it ended up take two days and two trips to install. The first day, it took 4 hours before my car was even looked at. (they had a problem with the car previous to mine, I don't blame them). I didn't get a call about it until hour 5. They finally finished they installation and forgot to connect the iPod accessory. I had explicitly wanted that accessory that thursday but it took a second visit to get it installed. I've been living with my new stereo system for two days and wires are falling out from under the steering column. Not too big of a deal for someone who likes to get hands-on... but I did't pay 250 bucks and 2 days for installation to get hands-on. Also, I was overcharged for the Kenwood system... by 40%! (buy your stuff on amazon and have them install it if you want to save big). RESPONSE FROM Sound of Tri-State: MR. We have brought all our cars here to Sound of tri state. Isaac is super friendly and helpful and NEVER tries to sell you something you don't need. The prices are the best around and they warranty their installation work! I've never driven away from there unsatisfied. As with any major purchases, go ahead and shop around... I guarantee you will find yourself standing in Sound of tri state though!! more
