Saffire

As a regular to the Franklin restaurant scene, Saffire is by far the best yet. Every weekend my husband and I like to go out for a high class meal, and a few out of the ordinary drinks. Not only are we looking for the food and drinks to make the experience, but the service as well. As we came in for a reservation on Saturday night, we were warmly greeted by the smiling host, but better yet our waitress was at our table within a minute with our drinks. Throughout the night everything was perfect, the food came out prepared on time as well as our drinks. Our waitress, who was upbeat with a spunky personality sparked our night. We were able to relate to her not only in our interest for art, but as well as being from the same state. She was open to talk with laughs and smiles, and made us feel as if we were at home. We would highly recommend Saffire to all, due to every aspect of the restaurant. Pros: Service, Bar Scence, Food Cons: Limited space, but no biggie. more

I had dinner last night at Saffire and thought the new menu was amazing. I had the cold crab cake and the fried oysters for an appitizer. For dinner me and my wife got the tuna and the salmon, both were amazing. I dont know how anyone could say they have a bad wine list. We always find great wine at very reasonalble prices. We often come on tuesday night when all wines are half price and enjoy amazing wines that we would not normally order. Hats off to the chef and to the staff of this great Nashville Restaurant. We looked forward to heading down to Franklin in hopes of proving you could find some great non-chains in the burbs - sadly mistaken on this trip. Here we go - reservation mix-up but corrected within a few minutes. Service started off slow and never improved including ordered drinks that never arrived. We were informed that the appetizer portion of the kitchen was running slow so at least we were warned of the 30 minute wait. This surprised us given that there were a handful of empty tables. Given the wait, we expected for the starters to arrive at the right temperature. Nothing is worse than a luke warm fried oyster - while unique in presentation it failed to execute in taste. Another longer than expected wait brought the entrees - while one entree was very good (swordfish and grits). The other consisted of fishy tasting mussels and shrimp that did not have the fresh taste one would expect from ""fresh gulf shrimp."" Service remained slow to non-existent while waiting for dessert and a check. Surprising given the number of wait staff standing in groups and talking among themselves. Saffire has been my favorite restaurant in Nashville since it moved into the Factory. We recently had dinner there and noticed things were not right from the beginning. The average bread showed up on a saucer. Previously you were offered a selection of breads with an amazing butter. We decided to go with appetizers & drinkers for dinner, but 2 out of 3 of our appetizers were VERY disappointing. I wish someone could tell me what happen. Did it change ownership? It seemed like corners were being cut. The wine list is not as robust and service was just average..Please say it's not so!!! Pros: I love the interior Cons: Eveything thing else was not right more

We have visited saffire several times in the past year, most recently with a group of 20 people to celebrate my 25th birthday. Our food is ALWAYS wonderful. The service is always above par and was even great with the large group of people arriving at different times. The fish/shrimp and grits is always a favorite and the special fish is always great as well. The best all around is the pan fried chicken with sonoma cheddar mac & cheese! We will keep going back to saffire and taking out of town guests here as well. Tonight was my 3rd and LAST visit to Saffire. The food is average and the service leaves a little bit to be desired. I first re-visited last year for my b-day and was dissapointed when my father's steak arrived 20 minutes after the rest of our meal was delivered. Tonight for my b-day we waited 20 minutes before even being recognized by the server at our table and then another 15 minutes before we received our wine. The so-called wonderful ""fish and grits"" (which is the ONLY reason we even went back) was luke warm and tasted like I could have done better buying a McDonald's Filet of Fish Sandwich. What a dissapointment and over-priced menu. You would be MUCH better off going to a chain (can't believe I'm saying that!). I really wonder how this place has kept it's doors open given the feedback I have received from others. more

Saffire, tucked away in the revived 'Factory' shopping complex on Franklin Road, is one of the best restaurants I have visited in Franklin. It isn't cheap, but the food is nothing short of scrumptious and the atmosphere of the entire restaurant is VERY relaxing. You get what you pay for. The service is impeccable. This is NOT a place for rowdy kids! :-) I recommend trying this restaurant at least once, or you haven't tasted Franklin! Pros: Food Quality - A++, Service, Atmosphere Cons: No complaints more

After living in Franklin for two years, we finally made it to Saffire for our anniversary. Wow! Knowledgable server, seamless bussing, attentive throughout. We began with a ravioli starter on the advice of our server- great move. My husband's caesar salad was amazing, with a giant crostini spread with herbed cream cheese. I had a cider-glazed salmon filet atop the tastiest spinach ever. Alongside were roasted red potatoes and shitake mushrooms, all over a creamy parsnip puree. Fantastic! My husband's Flintstone-sized prime rib was served with roasted asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Having been raised in a cattle ranching family out west, he can be a tough customer when it comes to beef, but he said it was probably the best he's ever had. They offered to comp us a dessert for our anniversary, but we were in no shape to eat another bite. We can't wait to go back! The shotgun-style restaurant has tables down the left, a bar to the right, and a beautiful, gorgeously lighted kitchen in the back. The decor -- and the crowd for that matter -- was trendy and cool. Tappas-style appetizers make for a nice start. Single-serve bruschettas, wild mushroom skewers, and shrimp with mango salsa. Sturdy, eclectic winelist. Our entrees -- an excellent grouper in bernaise sauce and a smoked prime rib -- were among the best we'd had in a Nashville area restaurant. Fresh strawberries with mascarpone and chocolate sauces was a light, interesting desert. While many of the Nashville area's fine-dining destinations are a bit on the stuffy side, Saffire manages to be trendy and fun without forgetting about the food. more

Saffire, simply put, is the best restaurant in Williamson County and perhaps in Nashville as well. The menu is a delight to read with combinations of ingredients unique in this area, the wait staff is very knowledgable about food and wine alike and the food is absolutely outstanding (the sides are especially good). Evening began with not easily locating restaurant, and culminated with a less-than-desireable meal. While the serving staff and management offered to correct any ""problems"", one would expect these to be corrected before the meal hits the table. The room is noisy, therefore sound abatement curtains or walls should be hung to minimize this (which wouldn't be a problem if it were a frat house), but a romantic get-away...it's not. Food was overpriced and unspecial. Prime rib was over 60% fat and waste. A dinner of this perceived quality should be memorable, this was in a negative way. On a positive note, the ice water was fine. In time, I may visit the establishment to see if it has improved, although with lower expectations than the ones which first led me there. I had dinner here on a Wednesday night. The menu was imaginative, colorful but lacked quality. I had swordfish and grilled vegatables. The swordfish was over cooked and the vegatables were very salty. My date had the Tuna, it had a slight burnt taste with little flavor. I also had the soup, very creative but very salty due to the soy milk base. Dinner cost over $50 dollars but was worth 1/2 that. more

I love writers night at the Bluebird and go as often as I possibly can but this past Sunday night at Saffire's rivaled the best local writers show I've seen for quite some time. I enjoyed several evenings of fine dining at this establishment before finding out about their Sunday night show. Consider me a Sunday night regular from now on. Considering the explosion of good dining establishments in Nashville recently, it is exciting to see this trend spread to Franklin. What was completely unexpected is the fact that Saffire, in the Factory in Franklin, is the very BEST restaurant in the Nashville area. Moreover, the prices are quite reasonable, the wine list is exemplary, and the servers are very knowledgeable. I use to visit Nashville on business, and since my first trip to Saffire, it became an absolute must for every subsequent Nashville visit. Now I live in Green Hills, and I have the pleasure of going to Saffire regularly. Everyone reading this message owes it to him/herself to go. Run -- don't walk! Started off with a Martini and was not impressed. Most Tinies you should be able to taste the vodka or gin. Not in these. Wife had prime rib and what a big serving. I had fish with rice dish and it was very good. Another member at tablle had rib eye and rated it good. The oyster appetizer was very good. Thought they were alittle high for what they give you although it was ""pretty food."" If you know what I mean. We went on Sunday night and wasn't much happening. Will go back another night.
