Ken was on time courteous and answered all of my questions. I will definitely contact Roy’s Plumbing and Heating & Cooling for any concerns I have with my furnace more

Great Service 8/28/2011

We had some major sump pump & plumbing problems. First to come out was Tony. He knew his stuff but didn't have the best explanation skills. When spending this type of money we need a good explanation. Called the company and out came Tom Smith. He gave the same superb service that he provided in our last house. more

Great Service from Roy's 8/18/2011

I had two technicians out to my home on separate occasions for plumbing issues - Charlie Alessi fixed my outside hose spigot so that it doesn't leak anymore! Tom Smith came another time to fix the problem I was having with my cold water in my bathroom. It was only trickling out but Tom came and cleaned all the sediment out of the lines so now it flows freely! Tom also cleaned my sewer and let me know that it's in perfect condition. Both technicians wore surgical booties when they were inside my home which surprised me - I really appreciated that! They were professional and very friendly! I would recommend Tom & Charlie and Roy's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling to everyone I know!! more

Not impressed 7/20/2011

Called Roys to stop and check out a defective home air conditioning system. The tech checked various things and stated that the funace may be bad. Wanted to sell me an outrageously priced furnace which I did not need. 2nd opinion indicated an issue with a motor, inexpensive and simple fix. more

Damaged my furnace 5/20/2011

I responded to their telephone offer for the $9.95 furnace inspection since I hadn't had the furnace looked at in quite a while. I asked them to install filters at an additional cost. The technician came on time and got right down to business. After about 30 to 40 minutes the tech came up and told me there was a recall on the heat exchanger due to the exchanger shedding telflon. The teflon sheds and blocks the drain causing moisture to build up in the furnace causing damage and possibly causing carbon monoxide to escape. He cleaned it up and made sure there was not a problem. Tech quoted me a price off of the top of his head for a new furnace. My furnace is over 20 years old and I knew I would be replacing it soon. I told him to write me an estimate so I could do some comparison shopping. He told me to give him a call when I have other estimates because Roy's does so much more than just install a furnace that he wanted to make sure I was aware of what the difference in cost would be between Roys' estimate and other estimates. Should have been the first warning. I told the tech I would call him. A few days later I noticed my fan would not stop running. Mind you, my furnace had performed perfectly all winter. I called the tech back and he came out to check the furnace. After about 10 minutes he comes up and tells me that the teflon shed, caused the drain to become plugged and water came into contact with the circuit board which is causing the fan to now run constantly. He says he can fix it but the board is $650 and that it would be better to replace the whole furnace. I thought, hmmmmm, how convenient. I told him I did not have a problem all winter but now I do since he serviced it and now he wants to sell me that furnace. I asked him how it could happen if he cleaned it up when it hadn't happened all winter. He had no answer. I felt as if I was scammed. Didn't have them install a new furnace or a new circuit board. I would rather hire a company I can trust. more

Didn't even show up 5/8/2011

Don't use this company. I called on a Saturday and was told someone would come between 3-5 to repair a leak on the main water shutoff in my house. No one ever showed and they never called to tell me they weren't coming. Terrible customer service. I don't know how they stay in business. They can't even show up so I don't how they can make and keep all the promises in their phone book ad. Explains all the complains to the Better Business Bureau. more

Roy's a great place to work! 5/7/2011

I want to start by saying i am a Roy's hvac service technician. I have worked for Roy's for over a year now and couldn't be happier. It is as close to a family environment as i have at home! The way Roy's conducts business is that the employee and customer comes first. Where can you find a company that operates with that philosophy? You will not! I will enter you're home and treat it as if were my own. I will listen to any concerns and treat you with respect. Keeping in mind that my number one reason for being in you're home is to make you feel comfortable and keep you safe. I hope to help you out some day! Andy more

Best Customer Service EVER! 4/21/2011

We've used Roy's 3 times for different plumbing problems. The experience all the way from the receptionist to the Plumbers was amazing. They were consistently respectful of our time (came exactly when they said they would), our home (always put plastic booties on their shoes, great job cleaning up before leaving), and us (even asked permission to play a radio very low while installing our boiler). Their work and their customer service has been consistently professional and extremely customer-service oriented. I have told many, many people about how impressed my husband and I are of their work, but also about how they treat their customers. It's wonderfully refreshing to find a company who not only does excellent work, but makes you feel like your a very valued customer. Highly, higly recommend!!! more

In response to Buffalo1 below 3/30/2011

Buffalo 1, My name is Mike Dollendorf, I am one of the owners at Roy's. Please contact me on my direct dial, 362-0111. I would love the opportunity to come out to your grandmothers home and personnaly inspect the Furnace in question. We stand behind our techs 100% with a garantee that no one in Western New York has - If we documnet and tell you that your heat exchanger has failed, and it has not, we will replace your furnace for FREE. Either way you win, you either get a new furnace on me, or get the facts about your existing unit, allowing you to make the choice what to do with it. It is more important to our company that you get it fixed - we do not care if we do it or not. Ask the people that provided you a second opinion if they will garantee thier word by replacing your furnace for free if they are wrong. About two months ago, a similar sitution happened, a customer stated another company said the same thing about her heat exchanger after we inspected it. After meeting with her, she could not believe that another company told her it was "in great shape". She saw the failure with her own eyes. We still have the furnace at our shop for anyone to view. We have replaced one furnace for free before, a few years ago. As the owner of this business, if we are going to be talking about peoples safety, we better be able to stand behind our word. We welcome the opportunity to inspect your furnace. Again - my direct dail is 362-0111. Thank You, Mike Dollendorf more

Told my grandma that she needed a new furnace but she didn't 3/8/2011

Took advantage of the free furnace exam.... Tech told my grandma and my uncle that both furnaces needed to be replaced due to cracked heat exchangers. 2nd and 3rd opinions and inspection proved this to be completely false. It doesn't get any lower than that. Their techs have a quota to "upsell".... be forewarned and educated yourself ahead of time....don't be fooled by the "your furnace is cracked" garbage. According to HVAC friends, they make this claim regularly. Also, don't be fooled by the obviously "planted" 5 star ratings......RUN! more

Roy's is Great! 10/2/2010

We have used Roy's Plumbing for several years now. We loved them so much we signed up for membership. They will show up the same day - and address and fix the problem extremely promptly. The teach's are great - they always wear their booties - which is great, and they are very friendly and helpful. Never an issue. more

Great Service 9/3/2010

Just had our second service call with Roy's. Very professional, fair price and will use their services again. more

DONT USE ROYS 3/31/2010

Asked them to come out and give me an estimate. Told me it would be $29.95 to to that. Said they would WAVE it this time since I was a new customer. The technician arrived and was shown to the problem area. He proceeded to FIX the problem without us knowing. Then they sent me an invoice for TWICE what another company had quoted. BEWARE !!!!!! Do yourself a favor and don't even CONSIDER THEM !!!!! Pros: Quick to respond Cons: EXPENSIVE AND DECITFUL!! more

Great deal 1/13/2010

Had my leaky toilet fixed with Roy's $19.99 special. They were right on time and fixed the toilet. They were courteous. I am happy with the work they did and would use them again. Pros: Great price Cons: No warranty more

Stay Away from this company 12/15/2009

I was in need of service so after reviewing what I thought was a reputable service company I just called Roy's, (just like their slogan). I had a sump pump replaced 6 mos ago, worked fine then failed 2 weeks ago (3in of h20 in basement). Had them return, they said it was fine, but if I wanted to make sure I could get another for more money. 2 days later the Pump failed again. To get peace of mind called another local plumber and they said the other was defective and it should be covered under warranty. I could not and did not wait. I needed peace of mind, I did not mind spending $ 277.00 for a new unit with them. The moral here is that when you need service don't call Roy's. They advertise promises, 100% money back guaranty's, and performance guaranties. Try to get any of that done after you pay them. You don't even get acknowledged via emails. What really make me mad is that I learned later that the sump pump that I paid $ 520.00 for retails for only $ 199.00 Live and learn but don't call Roy's. Cons: Terrible Products, No Warranty, No Follow Up after you pay more

Service call - VERY PROFESSIONAL 10/12/2008

Called Roys for a furnace check. He went down to our basement, and called us down for us to look inside our furnace for ourselves. He spent a long time explaining what we were looking at. We saw cracks in our old furnace. This probably explained why we were all so tired in the winter only...to make a long story short, We opted to replace it and had wonderful service. They did not rush out and the installers gave us an education. My wife liked that he wore plastic things over his boots to protect our floors. We are very happy and relieved. more

Completely Unprofessional 3/15/2008

With some many local options in the Buffalo area - be sure to avoid Roy's at all costs. Not only were they late for their scheduled appointment (a two hour window), we received no call to inform us, and when we did call we were treated to the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rule one of running a business is do not argue with the customer. The attitude and unprofessionalism of the dispatch worker was shocking. The dispatcher was unwilling to accept any responsibility for the plumber being late - instead blaming the customer for scheduling a later time. I quote, "Well, if you would have scheduled an earlier time, he would have been there." Seriously. A quick call to a rival company verified the proper and respectful way to treat customers. When we inquired about the advertisement in the phone book that stated "On time... or else you don't pay", we got the run around. As a new home owner, this is a lesson learned in choosing a company to service your home. With so many options locally, do not choose this company due to their large amount of advertising, because all you will get is poor customer service and apparently the attitude of a negative and poorly trained customer service department. I never write these reviews, so you can tell how strongly I feel about this horrible experience. more
