I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service. I called them on a Friday morning when I discovered my basement had flooded from a backed up floor drain. They were polite and concerned and quick to address my problem. Within an hour they were at my house and had the problem resolved quickly and shared some information on how I can help prevent this problem from reoccurring in the future. After meeting 8 of the staff from original service call to Michael, you have the right service people for all the jobs dedicated to drain service. Larry initially treated the blockage with every machine size he had, while Richard arrived later and showed the blockage. Jimmy's color camera reminded me of a surgical procedure, while marking the spot with a super meter finder. Coming back later, he set up the account for the work. Though work did not start as fast as it could with one whose sewer line was down, the first crew, headed up by Todd, did suggest another day and another way that was not him and his assistant. He was not suited for this more delicate interior job anyway. It was not until the following day that one service technician showed up alone, did I see the work take hold. Michael worked through the obstacles with later assistance from 2 more technicians and 2 days of gravel in my living room. I appreciated the exhaust to the outside during gravel removal by shop vac. Would recommend the gravel around the buried line be placed outside the home if the job takes an extra day to complete. Thank you for the people you hire to do all the different jobs of a repair like mine. more

Getting up on Sunday morning to a clogged kitchen sink full of filthy standing water is definitely not on anyone's list of ""fun things to do."" And to be honest, Roto-Rooter didn't turn it into something fun. But Robert (#0377) *did* arrive promptly, was professional and courteous, and got right to work. A short time later, the drain was clear. Not only that, Robert cleaned up the greasy mess from the back-up along with the counter, the floor, and everywhere else he touched or walked. He even spot-treated the rug at the front door to make sure he hadn't tracked in dirt! Hopefully I won't need their services for a long, long time (and the work they did *does* have a warranty), but I would definitely follow them again. more

We had issues of our basement flooding with the nasty stuff. They came out and replaced the pipe line going from the house to the street. Took around six hours but they were professional, considerate, and did the job to the fullest, and they even gave us a discount. Thank you J. Michael Redman and your coworker. We're so thankful for the job you've done. For years my father and even my grandparents had to deal with it but now everything's flowing great. I was replacing shower faucets in my home and could not for the life of me get one of the copper fittings to take the solder properly. After hours and hours of work, I gave up and called Roto Rooter. They sent over a Technician named Gray. Gray usually works nights, and despite him working the night before, he was dispatched to my house early in the afternoon. He had every right to be exhausted and grouchy, but instead he was extremely courteous and kind. He cut out the bad fitting and replaced it with a new one and then soldered everything up. It took us a few tries of turning the water to the house on and off, but eventually we were able to get all the fitting sealed and water tight. It was quite the ordeal and took us about 5 hours to complete. Even so, he gave us a great price and smiled the whole time. I can't speak for any of the other Roto Rooter employees, but definitely request Gray if you can. His technician number is 916. more

I?d like to thank Gray at Roto-Rooter for a job well done. I had a major clog affecting my kitchen and bathroom sinks, so I called Roto-Rooter for the fix, and another tech responded. Unfortunately the main pipe, under the kitchen sink, cracked during the cleaning process and a MAJOR leak occurred as a result. To exacerbate the issue, this occurred around 10 p.m. and required a second tech?s attention--the next day. Fortunately for me, Gray promptly responded the following day. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable; I felt immediately at ease? at least until he gave me the estimate (nearing $1,000). Thankfully, Gray understood my financial circumstances and was able to offer a solution costing much less (just over a tenth of the original estimate). Because of Gray?s expertise, extreme professionalism, and willingness to offer alternative solutions based on my personal circumstances, I can now rest assured knowing I can place my future trust in Roto-Rooter with technicians like him! R'Cittio and Jordan from Roto-Rooter both assisted our family when we had a clogged main sewer line and a slow-flowing kitchen drain. Both of the men were very courteous, professional and knowledgeable about our common problems and provided some short and long term solutions for our draining issues. Even if Roto-Rooter's prices are higher than some competitors, I highly recommend Roto-Rooter in this area for their professionalism and the respect they show to their customers. more

Called on a Saturday night with water coming up through our floor drain. They had someone out Sunday morning at 10a. Ran a camera and found bigger problems. Glad they found them so we hopefully won't end up with a flooded basement. Good service, courteous employees. Thanks for delivering the bad news in a cheerful manner :) I'm not sure if they came from the Overland Park, KS branch or the Kansas City, MO branch, but they were helpful. Thank you more

Kansas City MO... needed to have the main sewer line cleared of tree roots. service man was sent to perform this task, but he did not believe that the main line was clogged. he tried cleaning a different drain instead. he fumbled around with that task, did not complete anything, billed me, then left telling me that another service man would follow up with me. no follow up. I called Roto-Rooter back a few days later and explained the situation. a different service man was sent to clear the main line. he did a nice job. explained everything he was doing, and was quite professional. he attempted to run a camera through the main line. was somewhat successful. he called in another service man to run a camera through the main line, so that I would not feel shorted on the service. this service man came, ran the camera, and offered a few suggestions. first service man sent: thumbs down. second (R Cittio) and third (John) service men on the job: big thumbs up. thank you to both of you. my only complaint is with the ineptitude of the first service man. in the end, Roto-Rooter made up for his shortcomings and took care of my problem. will call them again in a few years when I need the tree roots cleared out of my main sewer line. more

My husband and I had a rough week when it came to plumbing gone wrong in our recently purchased house. In the same week our kitchen sink backed up and two days later we had a back flow in the downstairs drain. Thanks to the wonderful service and late night service of roto-rooter we were able to quickly fix our plumbing problems, and on top of it all the customer service and technicians were very friendly and helpful. They walked us through the processes step by step and maid sure we were fully educated on the problems and processes, including the overall costs before they began working. Thank you Roto-rooter for being there when we needed you most. We highly recommend them. more

We recently needed service to clear our basement drain. After some delays due to them being quite busy, Roto-Rooter arrived and was able to clear the drain in a timely fashion. JM Redman #0346 and his crew were efficient and courteous. Drilling holes in the basement and digging one big hole in the front yard and doing the pipe burst was a very big job. He explained everything he was going to do in advance and kept us updated as the work progressed. We were very happy with the finished job and would recommend roto rooter to our family, friends and neighbors. We live in Glendale Gardens subdivision in Independence, Mo. more
