Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

My tenants had clog a toilet and after several unsuccessful attempts to clear it, called Roto-Rooter. A Philadelphia based outfit. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about the potential costs, etc. I am a "do it yourself" type and will only call as a last resort. The plumber technician, Scott, showed up and went to work. I discussed with him the situation and course of actions that were taken by my tenants. He explain the potential problems and costs to put my mind at ease. Thankfully, it was a simple problem. Scott was courteous, professional and informative. Well done! more

Within two hours of calling Roto-rooter I had a plumber at my home (at 9pm) to clear a drain that was causing water to back up into our kitchen sink. I've had a habitual problem with my kitchen sink backing up but each of the other two times the plumber simply ran the snake from the kitchen sink down until the sink was clear and free flowing. Our techinician, Scott, listened to my symptoms and theories and immediately went to the right source of the problem. Scott spent two hours properly cleaning the right portion of our drain and I'm pretty confident that our drain problem should be solved for quite some time. Roto-Rooter arrived at my door an hour after making my initial phone call. Other companies that advertise emergency service, or one hour service fell short of their advertised promises. ROTOR-ROOTER KEPT THEIR ADVERTISING PROMISES! That alone is reason enough for me to use them. more

Roto Rooter from philadelphia saved me alot of money and alot of time. The Tech who came out knew exactly what he was doing and did it in a timely matter. He explained everything to me and showed me where my problems were and how he was going to solve it. He cameraed my line and snaked everything. He gave me a copy of where he sent the camera. I couldn't be happier with my service. Everyone was pleasent and polite and helped me out every step of the way. If I ever have another problem they will be the first I call. Roto-Rooter is the best plumber in Philadelphia! I have used their services in the past, with good results, but this time their technicians went above and beyond expectations. I found an old drain snake lodged in the main at one of my properties, and was quoted almost $5000.00 to dig up the street to have it removed. It was causing numerous backups. Roto-Rooter assessed the situation and quoted me $450.00 to clear the blockage, retrieve the broken cable, and scope the drain. This is where they went above and beyond. Their technician Tongh spent 3 plus hours getting the old snake to move up the vent shaft for removal but was unable to get it out completely. Another technician Lou came back later and with his own customized removal tool, was able to retrieve the cable. No more cable, no more backups, and no broken pipes. Way to go Roto-Rooter ! We had great serice. Service person Keith was very courteous and very good in detail what was wrong and what he had to do.to fix the problem. The sewer line was backed up somewhere. They put a camera in the line, found the problem and fixed it in a couple hours. They even fixed the broken vent cover outside and cleaned the mess in the basement. All this and the cost was $1000 less than the estimate. Plus I was told if I write a review, I may even be eligible for a refund. Not bad for a days work! more

Let me tell you about my weekend. I woke up Saturday morning to run errands and I realized that my drain pipe outside was over flooding on the pavement. I called several plumbers who either couldn't see me that day, or the appointment would have been on Monday. At that point, I thought I had no choice but to wait until they were available. Sunday morning it had got worst, so many suggested that i call the city. In result of that, each company sent me to the answer machine to leave a message. I couldn't waist any time because I needed help badly, which lead me to call Rotor-Rooter. By calling them I instantly got a response. Rotor-Rooter was at my house within the hour. They checked the sewer pipe and it was flooded. they snaked it, and the water went down but the pipe was broken. This problem needed to be fixed immediately because it was only going to get worst. I asked them how much something like this was going to cost and he told me $3,700. I went in shock because i wasn't able to figure out how I was going to come up with the money. Rotor-Rooter offered me financing, we proceeded to make the appointment. Unfortunately my financing was denied, and I was supposed to leave a third of the cost, which I did not have. Thankfully, Rotor-Rooter allowed me to deposit a smaller amount ($700) so that i could keep my appointment for Tuesday morning. Rotor-Rooters arrived at my house Tuesday morning at 8:00am. They got the job done quickly without any additional problems. And for that I appreciate Rotor-Rooters services. more

This was my first experience with Roto-Rooter to fix a drain problem. The serviceman (Keith) was very professional and explained in detail what had to be done and how he would do it and guaranteed the work. Even though there was the delay of one day, due to having to get a work permit, Roto-Rooter was prompt on the day of service, courteous and completed the job by mid-day. more

My laundry tub suddenly stopped draining the water. Had tried several times to correct the problem but after the water did not drain over 1-1/2 days, realized it was time to call in the professionals. Called the office at approximately 2 P.M. on Thursday 2/17 and was given an appt. time for approximately 1 hour later. When the gentleman arrived (before the 1 hour promised) he was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He did a great job in cleaning out the pipe and I have been washing ever since. I would not hesitate to recommend and/or use Roto-rooter myself again. The Roto-rooter gentleman cleaned up after himself and left my laundry room tub in great working condition. Our plumber was very efficient and did a wonderful job. He not only cleaned our sewer pipes but was caring enough to do all the work from the sewer pipe outside instead of stinking up our basement. We were very happy with their service. more

Our sewer line was backed up. We live in the Philadelphia area. Today my husband called Roto-Rooter at 8:00am because our sewer line was backed up. He was told that someone would be here by 9:00am. At about 8:45am the door bell rang and it was the Roto-Rooter plumber arriving with a smile on his face and ready to tackle the job. I explained the problem and within an hour the job was finished and everything was working properly. He did not leave my home until all of the pipes were running properly and everything was working as it should. The plumber was very imformative and knowledgeable about the issues and how to fix them. He cleaned the sewer line and made sure that the toilet, tub, sinks,and washer machine were all working properly. He was kind and courteous and very helpful. He also gave helpful information of what to do in the future and also diagnosed other future issues and explained our options in getting the issues rectified and providing cost information. This past Sunday our sewer backed up. I live in the Philadelphia area and needed a plumber on a Sunday so I remembered an ad for Roto-Rooter and called them. I am glad I did, I received excellent service from the beginning. They told me they would have someone here in an hour and they did. The service the plumber provided was great. Our daughter dumped plastic bathroom cup into toilet and then flushed------oops "it was an accident!". Called Roto Rooter and they came right away. Fixed the problem quickly and both plumbers were great. If you live in Philadelphia and need a plumber fast just call Roto Rooter! more

Water flooding your basement due to a drain blockage is the WORSE nightmare as a homeowner. I called at least 15 different plumbers withing the Philadelphia area before I called Roto-Rooter.
