Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

We had drainage problem and needed help quickly. Philadelphia Roto-Rooter was able to send a plumber very fast. Plumber was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. We end up using Roto-Rooter for pipe replacement after shopping around. The job was done in 2-days with all the utilities and permits in order. Guys did a great, clean job. The township inspector seemed to be impressed too. more

I live in South Philadelphia. The sewer drain was clogged and backing up into my basement and created a foul odor thru the house. i called Roto Rooter and the customer service person I spoke to on the phone was very polite and understanding to my problem. She placed a service call and the tech was at my house within an hour. The Service techs who came were very nice and worked very hard unclogging my drain. I have a 1 year old grandson living with me and God forbid if something would happen to him. I thank Roto Rooter and their customer service rep and service techs for their quick response and hard work. I recommend them highly to anyone in need of plumbing service. I give them 5 STARS. more

Work fast and neat in one day, honest and friendly more

Our water main broke on a Friday-- biggest disaster EVER! We called Aqua, waited all day, only for them to come tell us, "The leak is under the sidewalk, not in the street, so it's your problem." So then we called Roto-Rooter. Even though it was Saturday, they got the estimate done and the paperwork started. First thing Monday morning, they got the permits in and began work. By lunchtime, they'd jackhammered the sidewalk and dug up the pipe. Just then, a double disaster struck-- the clouds rolled in and it started to pour! There was no water anywhere in the house, but the poor Roto-Rooter guys got soaked to the skin. But even in the downpour, and even when their drilling machine got stuck in the mud, they kept trying. It was a heroic effort! They worked in the cold, muddy rain until 7pm Monday night. But though it became clear that they weren't going to be able to finish the job that day, they didn't give up until they'd recovered the machine, covered the holes, AND taped off the area with caution tape to keep us and the neighbors safe. Then Tuesday morning, they were back at work by 7am! Fortunately the weather was on their side that day, and the rest of the digging progressed smoothly. By noon they were laying the shiny new copper pipe, to replace the corroded galvanized steel water main, and by 4pm everything was welded into place and the water was flowing again! I have NEVER been SO HAPPY to use my own bathroom! The Roto-Rooter guys did a fantastic job. They were extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions, and even arrange a payment schedule that we could meet. I especially want to thank Joe and Kenny for being so friendly, funny, and easy to talk to, because it went a loooooong way towards helping me feel better during this otherwise horrendous disaster! The plumber was running behind schedule but had the courtesy of calling and gave an ETA from Philadelphia. The plumber did show up when he said he was going to! The plumber was very nice and discussed the options depending on what he found. I was glad I called Roto-Rooter...the plumber fix the problem in no time and there were no surprises when it was time to pay. Thanks! more

Our drain backed up in the pouring rain causing significant flooding in the basement. After an attempt to clear it ourselves with a snake, we called in the pros. Despite the fact that it was a weekend, they arrived within 3 hours of our call and were quick and courteous. The service person had been completing emergency housecall since the early morning. I am sure he was soaked and exhausted but he was friendly, professional and efficient. Since it was a relatively routine problem he was in and out in 15 minutes. The cost seemed a bit high but after calling a few others it was competetive for the service that was provided and has a 6 month warranty. Another benfit is that you are not charged if you do not have the service, so there is no charge just to come to the house and no additional charge for emergency or weekend visits. Pros: Courteous and efficient service people, service comes with a Cons: Initially transferred to a voicemail. Had to call back. more

The two plumbers Kevin and Joe from the Roto-Rooter service located in Philadelphia were very knowledgable, friendly and customer orientated. They arrived in a timely manner, completed the job quickly and cleaned up so you could barely tell the front lawn was dug up. I would highly reccomend them for any service that you need completed.
