Horrible. Can't say this enough. Please don't use them for anything. They shared my social security number, birthdate and private cell phone number to a handyman who is unlicensed, un bonded and has never had a background check. Needless to saw that you must stay away from them. The person who shared this information is the owner of the company!! more

Worst experience ever 5/2/2012

I placed my home with Renttoday and have had nothing but problems with them. They would let the tenants get away with anything. The tenants signed the lease indicating they would have 2 cats and now they have a house full of dogs, cats and rabbits. I have called Renttoday numerous times asking them to have the animals removed and they have done nothing. Anytime I call and leave a message I never get a call back. Worst customer service ever. Do not use this company!!! more

My boyfriend contacted the company about the listing we had seen on Craigslist and was referred to Artin. When they went to see the listing, Artin was friendly and throughout the process of us moving he was very easy to contact and answered our questions. It is a smaller company that hasn't been around as long as some other property management companies, so there are pros and cons that come with that. While we were making the decision to rent, Artin was always available to answer the questions/concerns we had and made the move easy for us. One thing I would say is that I wish they had more information on the property prior to showing it. Of course, we looked at the condo only a few days after they had started listing it so it was still relatively new. Because of that Artin had to keep going back and forth between the owner and us, so I think the process would have gone just a little bit faster if he had the information on-hand as soon as they started showing it. Now that we're moved in, we have a couple of maintenance issues (minor, part of a place being lived-in for awhile). Artin explained to us when we signed the lease that any repairs that we found during the first 3 days of ownership would be taken care of by the RentToday and we would be contacted by the company in a few days. Still waiting to be contacted (at time review was written it had been about 4-5 business days), and that is probably the only thing I think will be a problem. Because any maintenance issues goes through the property management company and not an individual property manager, we may be living with some needed repairs for longer than if we had an individual manager we could speak to. So like I said, pros and cons but we are ecstatic with our place. It was exactly how they presented it (no unwanted surprises so far!) and we couldn't have been happier with Artin. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family, so they need to get more listings!! more

Horrible 4/2/2012

My husband and I found a house in our ideal location, we scheduled a viewing with Nick and liked what we saw. We were told the floors were still In the middle of being replaced and that the house was still being painted. We were also promised a specific move in date and when we arrived we had workers crawling all over the outside of the house. When we tried speaking to the property management about our issues all we got was a customer service representative who was rude and inconsiderate. Allison just wanted to argue with us. We then spoke to Alex who was supposed to be the customer service manager. Don't know how he got that position because he did not resolve anything all he wanted to do was argue as well. We've been in the house for a month and just yesterday we received the garage remote. Wow! Never again will I be renting through this company again. My husband and I are stuck with them in a very long lease, but I am warning you their service to the renters is horrific. more

I Had AHS Home shield now.if the tenant has some problem can call Home warranty to repair it one time need pay $60. Befor Jennifer Woerz told me under $100 tenant pay over $100 owner pay more

I started out on cregslist where I found RENTTODAY. however, I thought it was to good to be true. They took all of my information and I had a returned call in about 2-3 days to be shown a property in which I was approved for and now me and my family have a place called home!!! more

Not surprised 1/10/2012

I lived there for two years. They never helped with the hoa and their rules. Never got new keys, I hired someone to clean out and when I left I got a bill for over three grand. They will chargeyou to replace your carpet a dumster to throw it away and late fees that they charged you years ago.The maintanace manager was alway rude and Alex the account manager basically always said it is what it is and thats it. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!! more

Rent Today falls Short 12/30/2011

Rent Today fell seriously short on my expectations. They are quick to put things you request into the rental contract, but do not monitor anything. My tenants were to upkeep the front yard and were given a discount on the rent for no pets. Two months into the contract the yard was a mess and they had a giant dog. Rent todays response....We will send them a letter, but we do not monitor these things it is up to the tennant to keep the agreement. Wow and here I thought that that was what I was paying them for. If you have someone reliable in your property and all you need is someone to collect a check from your tennants and forward you the amount minus their fee... then rent today are the people for you, but if you actually need your property managed then look elsewhere. Thank you for your feedback! We always appreciate any opportunity that we can use as a learning tool for our staff and we are actually using this review in our next training session which we've entitled "Managing and Creating Postive and Realistic Client Expectations"
First off, I'm sorry that our services "fell short" of your expectations. We do strive hard to meet and exceed client expectations regarding the services that we offer.
We do tend to "fall short" when clients have unrealistic or certain expectations that should not exist in the first place in which case it could be our fault for not completely explaining our services fully and if that was the case, we do apologize.
After further conversation with you we did discover that your expectations were for our company to provide "on-site" management services when in actuality, we are an "off-site" property management company, so that is an issue.
We also found you expected us to control the tenants every move which unfortunately is unrealistic and the law does not provide us any right to do this. We must respect the tenants privacy and it is our job to obey the tenant and landlord laws set forth by the state. The law does not allow us to micromanage, threaten, intimidate, or "force" them to comply with the contract. Our tools are our power of pursuasion by offering great customer service, the written letter, and the court system. In other words, we can ask the tenant nicely, have them sign agreements, send them nice letters then meaner letters when they don't comply, and then ultimately if all else fails...evict. But guess what? Most judges will not evict a tenant for lanscaping or pet issues...trust us, we've been doing this for a decade and we've tried. Judges in California are very tenant friendly and if your tenant is paying they are staying...and if you own rental property in California you know this.
The reason you pay us is not to just "collect a check" as you had mentioned but to deal with all of this. We are dealing with your tenant directly and you are not which to alot of people is worth the small percentage a month to avoid. Our cost is less than one decent meal at a restaurant but we may have to deal with your tenant every single day and that's not including dealing with you which could be timely. Trust us, whatever "easy" accounts we have that don't take much time is definitley made up by our "other" more challenging clients so in the end...we feel we are definitley earning every dollar and offer the lowest prices than any other management company hands down! Would you like us to offer our services for free? It would make it a bit hard for us to attract good staff.
Ok, so I don't want to ramble on and on here because you have a naughty tenant on your hands to deal with now so I will definitely let you get back to that.
Bottom line is that we are sorry we weren't able to offer the "on-site" management you were seeking for your home but if you own any apartment buildings that are more than 16 units we will be more than happy to provide that service for you at a great price! We perform on-site management for many buildings up to 300 units and we do a fabulous job.
