Rude 3/16/2006

They know they dont have to treat there customer with respect because they know people keep comming back for the pizza. Its the best in the twin cities. Some of the employs would not last an hour at most resraunts. Pros: Best pizza Cons: Rude help more

Best Pizza for Over 4 Decades 3/14/2006

As I was reading the previous reviews, I was struck by how many people claimed they received bad service at the Savoy. My family has been dining at the Savoy for almost 4 decades and even though the staff have been extremely busy at times, they have always been friendly. I will be introducing my 10 month old son to the best pizza in Minnesota this weekend in hopes of passing on the tradition. Pros: The pizza, Now - Non-Smoking more

Average? 2/21/2006

The only thing worse than the horrible, horrible service here is the actual pizza. The establishment seems to be geared more towards gimmicky diviness and less towards making authentically good pie. The pizza doesn't differ much from cheap frozen brands. The sauce is acidic, the cheese cheap and greasy. To those who consider RS the best, I have one word: PUNCH!!! Cons: lousy crust, schticky rude service, bad sauce more

Let's Compare, Shall We? 1/19/2006

Funny how some people complain about ""parking problems"" when Savoy is probably the only pizza place in St. Paul with their own FREE parking lot. Funny how some people complain about the service, but fail to mention that the place is so packed at night that the waitresses can't even walk, let alone see from one end of the restaurant to the other. I would challenge anyone to find a pizza place that's even close to as crowded as Savoy on any night of the week- I have never even seen a pizza place that was totally packed wall to wall in my life until I went to Savoy. If you think there's a better pizza place in town, go there on a weeknight and tell me there are more people there than at Savoy. Anyone who says that Savoy is not the best pizza in town is in denial. Pros: Great food, free parking, cheap drinks Cons: no smoking, small bathrooms, no free pop refills more

No other like it!!!! 1/15/2006

Red's is dark and old fashioned but I will tell you this, I've never tasted pizza like Red's. We were nervous about going there the first time as the reviews made the waitresses sound awful, but we have always had good service. They tell us that our pizza will take 40 minutes so we have brought books or papers with us to make the wait easier. I would highly recommend going there if you patient and hungry for the best pizza EVER!!!! Pros: Nummy pizza, TV's Cons: waiting for food more

Best Pizza in the Twin Cities 1/11/2006

Great thin crust pizza with sauce so salty that you'll drink a gallon of water afterwards... Toppings are generous and thisck but leave enough room for their excellent sauce and cheese. My favorite is thier pepperoni and sausage... more

WORST SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES 1/1/2006

After begging the waitress to bring me the root beer that I ordered instead of the coke she heard, waiting 50 minutes for the pizza, and explaning how to use a visa gift card something was taken away from the taste of their pizza. Bottom line - Take out and call a day ahead. Pros: Pizza Cons: Service more

Great pizza, interesting atmosphere! 12/1/2005

My favorite pizza in the twin cities! Atmosphere is unique and worth dining in. Service is not the best but the pizza and atmosphere make this a worthwhile visit. Pros: Pizza, Atmosphere Cons: service, spendy more

By Far The Best Pizza In The Twin Cities! 11/21/2005

The service may suck at the main place downtown, but only because it's cramped, no parking and you may have to wait because theres alot of pizza crazy people there! But you got to be crazy to say the pizza is average or greesy! If you don't like the ambience try one of their take outs on whitebear in st.paul, and newport off of 61! Pros: PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA Cons: Parking, service more

Red's Customer Service - We work hard for you!!! 11/7/2005

I am an employee and i have seen alot of different things, and through it all i have done my best to stay professional, but there are times when it is difficult. I love my job and my customers, but just because i am in the customer service industry does not mean i should be treated badly. I cant apologize for my co-workers, but i can say, we all have good days and bad. The take out counter is one of the hardest jobs there, we (I) work hard to keep my customers happy, we all appreciate your business, even when we are not having a good day, so for all of you who said you won't come back, please do, we really appreciate you as people and customers. Thanks! more

The best thin crust ever!! 10/12/2005

True, this place is a huge dive with bad service, but once you get past the initial shock of walking into this dark hole to get your heavenly thin crust pizza you'll be able to overlook that. It might even grow on you! However, I think it's saying something that normally don't like thin crust pizza and my stomach is growling right now thinking about eating one of their pizzas. Their sausage is the best, too! Pros: Location Cons: Service more

User review by cindyfriemel 10/11/2005

This is definitely the best pizza I've had. I come from Iowa just for the pizza. The place is a dive, but pizza is worth the trip. Sometimes you have to wait for a table, but once you taste the pizza you'll say it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend Red's pizza to anyone. more

Great pizza, not so good service 9/20/2005

Ok the pizza was very good. My financee got a shot glass sized root beer which they charged a dollar for, plus they charged the same for refills. We were checked on once the whole time. When we finally got our bill the chain smoking grandma waitress threw it at us and left not saying a word. If you like going out to eat at a bar I guess thats cool but it's not what I had in mind. If I was going out with a couple of the guys I probably would have enjoyed it much more. I suppose the group of old people who forgot to turn there hearing aids up before they came didn't help. Damn they were loud. My suggestion is to order the pizza to go and bring it home if you were thinking of having a nice dinner. Pros: PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA Cons: service, it's a bar, super loud more

Best thin crust pizza in town! 9/1/2005

I have been to a million pizza places in my life, and I will swear up and down that this is the BEST thin crust pizza that I have ever had. It is the thickest thin crust pizza I have ever had too...the toppings are LOADED on! Just writing this review makes me want to drive all the way over to St. Paul tonight to get one. more

The place has really gone downhill 7/22/2005

During a recent visit to Red's the service was abysmal, complete with a rude waitress and manager. After an hour-long wait, our pizza arrived, and our salads still had not shown up even after several requests to our waitress! We were offered no compensation whatsoever. While their pizza is pretty good the service is terrible. We'll never go back. Pros: Good pizza, Reasonable prices Cons: Rude service, long waits, parking problems more

Not worth the hassle 7/10/2005

We've had a few bad experiences at the Savoy, but the poor service we experienced during a recent visit really turned us off to this place. Both the owner and wait staff need to take a course in customer relations. Because of the wait, we ordered our pizza as soon as we arrived, and ordered salads as soon as we were seated. After waiting nearly an hour and querrying our waitress several times as to the whereabouts of our salads, our pizza showed up followed by the salads! We complained about the poor service, and were rewarded with an argument and feeble excuses from our waitress. We were offered no compensation by our waitress or the manager. They essentially blew us off. The Savoy has plenty of competition these days, not the least of which is Cossetta's right down the street and a number of others. We'll never go back! Pros: Fairly good pizza Cons: Poor service, Rude wait staff, Bad parking more

Unbelievable! 6/6/2005

This is the best pizza in the Twin Cities! The ambience is not what you would expect but really adds to the whole experience. I've been to Red Savoy's 5 or 6 times and it has always been a great experience. Pros: Food, Cheap Drinks, Different Cons: Crowded, Long Wait more

Best Pizza, Worst Service 5/13/2005

We have been going to the Savoy for many years. Over the last 5 years or so the services has dropped to rude and crude. We hardly ever go anymore as the wait staff is so aweful. The pizza is however, the best I've had in the twin cities. If your up for take out and are lucky enough to get an order placed go for it, but be prepared to be treated poorly. Pros: Pizza Cons: rude service, crowded more

Pizza 5/11/2005

Better than most for pizza. Ambience/ There isn't any. This is a bar that serves pizza. Pros: pizza Cons: parking more
