Never Disappointed! 8/13/2002

My husband and I 'discovered' Red's Savoy Inn four years ago and we now dine there at least once a week, we have never been disappointed and neither has anyone we've recommended it to! Note: If you are bringing kids, go early and bring stuff for them to do - although the wait is worth it, forty-five minutes seems like forever for little ones. Hands down best pizza in town!!!!! Not only is the pizza the best, the other dishes are excellent as well. The service is very good also. With as busy as they get, standing room only on Fridays and Saturdays. I went to Red Savoy's for my birthday this year. It is kind of a tradition for me to pick a new pizza place every year for me and my friends to go to on my birthday. This year was Savoy's turn. I wasted 26 years going to other pizza places...this one is the best! Everyone at the party thought it was great pizza. Environment takes some getting used to but the pizza ia a 10. Overrated Pizza, but Good Overall 7/26/2002

Personally I think the pizza at Savoy has been overrated by many people. It's good and I enjoy it, but for those who prefer a more New York-style pizza, Savoy might not be the place for you. I like the laid-back atmosphere. It's a good place to go with a few friends and have some pizza and beer. more

Never disappointed with the pizza...........just the best......Expect an hour during their busy meal times for a call ahead pick-up. The sauce has just the right touch of zest. i have many pizza ploaces that deliver in Woodbury but I will drive to Newport to get the BEST pizza in TOWN. They give you plent of toppings and it is always hot. I have found that the little hole in the wall pizza places have the BEST food. It is WORTH the drive. Cons: no delivery in myarea more

Puts Chicago Pizza's to Shame 7/18/2002

As a transplant from Chicago, we searched for years to find a descent pizza in the Twin Cities.... This is it! Even our visitors from Chicago rave about it and ask to go there when they visit. Atmosphere and decor is old, dark and uninviting, but the food more than makes up for it. If you don't like to eat in a bar, then order your pizza to go.
