I consider myself very picky about where and to whom I go to get brazilian waxes. I have very high standards, and can proudly say I found the best waxing service with Jodi! Her practice is small, private and personal. She cares to get to know her clients and create a welcoming and comforting atmosphere. The wax takes no longer than 15 minutes, and she's very accomodating to walk-ins and to scheduling last minute appointments. (As much as she can be...she's very popular!) Just like her token slogan ""taking the sting out of waxing,"" her waxes are by far the most painless wax I've ever had. She is an expert when it comes to handling and preventing ingrown hairs as well as proper pre and post treatment of the waxed area. Her prices are reasonable, her location and set up is very private and relaxing. To clarify a past negative review, Jodi has a gorgeous and homey set up behind her residence with a very nice and sanitary room where she does the waxing. She always has candies to eat and soft music playing. There is one small frosted glass window that allows for decent sunlight but absolutely no way anyone outside, especially neighbors, can see in. The Garden Studio is easy to find, easy to get to and extremely easy to park at. Now that I've started going to Jodi I refuse to go anywhere else! i have been to jody twice, both times at her beautiful garden studio...jody is hands down the best waxing goddess in los angeles and i have been to everyone that is well known. unfortunently i have not made it to the salon yet but i am totally in love with the garden studio environment. it is very private,intimate and convienient....she is so fast and painless that i tend to get caught up in our conversation every time....anyway. i love her...she is THE BEST!!!! Hands down, Jodi is the best waxer in Southern California! She somehow manages to make an ordinarily unpleasant experience enjoyable. I am generally a very private person, but she makes the experience comfortable and relaxing. She is incredibly fun to talk to - sweet and interesting. She is very attentive to her clients, and concerned about their comfort. The wax literally lasts less than 15 minutes, and the results are amazing - I was stunned at how thorough she was in so little time. Her studio is very private, clean and welcoming. I had only had one waxing experience before a friend recommended Jodi. My first experience was not exactly the best, but I was willing to give waxing another shot. Being a first time customer, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get an appointment with her because I heard she was always booked, but her assistant, Michelle, was great and got me an appointment pretty quickly. The biggest surprise was how painless it was! I have no idea what Jodi does, but I hope she keeps it up! Jodi was so friendly and accomodating! Unlike most chain stores, the room she uses has nice music playing and is very relaxing. I was done in less than 15 minutes, too! Like some of the other reviews I've read, I will say that Jodi has yet another regular customer in me! I've already recommended her to a co-worker, as well. I've been spoiled by the best aesthician in the world back in TX & he was a male. And so I had to find someone similar here in LA. Some things he would do during the Brazilian. 1) He'd carefully make sure he was removing the hair in the right direction and not willy nilly to avoid ingrown hair purposes. 2) He'd use tactile pressure after removing a strip to ease the initial shock to the skin. 3) He was completely professional, a perfectionist in the procedure, & aimed to make the client feel at ease. All of these things I DID NOT find at this place. First, it is run out of the person's garage, in the back of a residential house. I came in 15-min early for my appointment, but she was late in accomodating me for my schedule appointment. In addition, she was literally on the phone when she was doing my waxing. Before and after, the phone was always ringing and she actually answered it 1x while I was there. She ripped the wax strips from the sensitive area with no care to the pain and nor attentive or careful post or pre-operative application of a powder. It seemed like she threw a dash of baby powder in the general area and went at it. She didn't accept anything but cash and checks. In my opinion, professional, official institutions take everything. It's quite a out-of-the backyard kind of operation and not at a soothing atmosphere. There are small but reasonably-sized windows in this back room where I'm not sure how many neighbors may be aware of her operation. The only good thing that people have stated is she was quick. But in my opinion, she was TOO fast, careless, and unprofessional. So I feel it my duty to dispel the hype of a 9.9 rating due to my horrible (will never return there) experience. I looked to citysearch for a information on where I can find a good aesthetician, but was dissappointed with this find after reading all the user's reviews. I almost feel the ladies that love her don't know what they may be lacking/missing. Ladies beware! After dozens of Brazilians, I've learned there are four essential keys to a good waxer. Jodi is the best I've had in all categories: she's super fast, she's as low pain as possible, she sanitary and she puts you at ease. She's also fun. My best friend and I were really nervous about the bikini wax experience. Although we knew others who had gone through the process, we never had done it ourselves. I have to say that Jodi was amazing! She made the process fun and made both of us feel so at ease! We were out of there in 15 minutes! Jodi has definately gained our business!! This was undoubtedly the easiest, quickest wax experience I have ever had - Jodi has a wonderful way about her - she just puts you at ease, is very funny yet totally professional. I have very sensitive skin yet had very little redness afterwards and am thrilled with the results. I encourage you to follow the instructions on her webiste pre and post wax -excellent info that really does make a difference. Today was my first time, I was nervous and had no idea what to expect (other than pain of course). Guess what?? Not much pain at all, Jodi is fantastic, she made me feel so comfortable and my nerves quickly subsided. I was in and out in 10 minutes. She is GREAT!!!! Not only is Jodi one of the best technicians I have ever been to (and I have gone through many), she is always friendly and courteous. I never have problems with ingrown hairs like I used to and I have very sensitive skin. Some might claim her tardiness/absentee policy is harsh or even rude, but in reality it is fair and just. I myself was late to an appointment (I got lost) and she not only waited for me - she gave me directions! For girls who are waxing for the first time, or for mature women who are tired of ingrown hairs, impersonal service and painful removals - Queen Bee Waxing is for you! I've been waxed in cities from New York to Honolulu, and Jodi ranks heads and shoulders above the rest. She's the perfect combination of totally speedy/experienced and at the same time incredibly nice and relaxing. For a full brazilian, she gets me in-and-out in 8 to 12 minutes. She's friendly and makes you feel comfortable ... which is quite the accomplishment considering that you're lying spread eagle for the entire process. And although of course it's going to hurt, the fact that I'm not tensing up makes it hurt a lot less than when I get waxed elsewhere. I just hope that she doesn't get *too* popular, because as long as I can keep getting appointments, I'll never go to anyone else again! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Price more

I totally agree with all the previous reviews. It was my first time at Queen Bee Waxing and Jodi completely made me feel very comfortable. She was very quick and skillful, I got the Full Monty and I was out in 10 minutes. The facility was very clean and organized so you don't have to worry about the cleanliness. Jodi is now also available on Wednesday evenings. Thanks Jodi for making my first waxing experience so pleasant. I will definitely return for my next appointments! There is no one like Jodi!! She is the best brazilian waxer ever. I was only so lucky to go to her for my very first wax close to two years ago and I vowed to never go to anyone else again. Well. . . .I had to go to someone else because of Jodi being on holiday---oh my goodness!!!! I will never make that mistake again. It was a frightening experience and this was a salon that only does waxing and had been written up in a column I read. It sends tingles up my spine to think about it. But, thankfully, I saw Jodi again this last time and I remember why I enjoy going to her every time. (now, who can say they enjoy getting waxed!! But, that is how comfortable she makes you). She is such a professional, an expert, relaxes you, is so quick (10-15 minutes max) and makes you laugh while you are there. I love Jodi!! more
