I love Queen Bee. Jodi is amazing. She is always so friendly and quick with my waxing! She makes it so comfortable to be there, considering what she is doing, I was afraid it would be awkward. I have been to a few other places and been disappointed so now I only go to jodi. :-) Pros: Everything! This place is great. Cons: Jodi is pretty tough to get an appointment, but they are so good about notifiying you of any cancellations!!! more

I drive an hour and a half from Laguna Beach to come and see Jodi at Queen Bee. I've discovered time and time again that she truly is the best out there. Yes, every once in a while I take a Recommendation from someone for a Wax in Orange County, but I always end up regretting it. Jodi has a knack for making me feel unbelieavably comfortable, and with so many Clients it always amazes me that she can remember something about everyone that comes in. As far as the time it takes, she's super quick, my goal is to be in and out as quickly as possible, because who wants to sit around and chat for an hour while getting Waxed? I love this waxing salon!!! I've been waxed at quite a few other salons over the years and it's not always been a pleasant experience. But Queen Bee was fabulous. The salon itself is in a really cute spot in Culver City and the interior is beautifully done and comfortable. I was immediately offered tea/coffee and snacks and was delighted by the whimsical and plentiful display of waxing and skin care products. (Check out the Queen Bee Tweezers for a cute gift) But the best part was the wax itself. A full brazilian with Jodi took less than 10 minutes and her technique seemed to really minimize the pain. She's full of personality and immediately put me at ease, chatting with me through out the wax. The room was bright, neat, and clean. When you run into an old friend from high school who you haven't seen in years in a bar and one of the first random things she says to you is ""Have you ever been to Queen Bee waxing in Culver City.....you MUST go see Jodi!"" , I have to say it peaked my curiosity! I was a waxing newbie, totally nervous, but was completely sold after meeting Jodi. Point blank.....Jodi RULES! Everything about Queen Bee rules. The shop is ridiculously adorable, comfortable and extremely clean! You are instantly put at ease when entering this tranquil space. Lisa and the front desk staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. They are always so sweet and ready to work with your schedule to get you in. And Jodi...what can I say..she truly is the best! She is so friendly and fun, you almost forget you are there to get your bits bare. Jodi puts you at ease instantly with her hilarious stories. The wax is soft and always the perfect temperature. Jodi works fast and before you know it, you are on your way with a perfect brazillian.....seriously...it is perfect. Every time! I have been a client of Queen Bee for some time now, but feel compelled to ask why Jodi and her staff ?double-dip? their sticks during my waxing session. I never thought about it until I visited another waxing spa in North County San Diego upon my friend?s suggestion and when I told them that I waxed regularly at Queen Bee, the technician immediately mentioned Queen Bee?s reputation for double-dipping. Other than this, I have always loved getting waxed at QB and now seriously question whether I should return due to the potential health risks of not using a new stick each time it goes into the bowl of wax. Also, while I appreciate a quick wax, I lately feel like I am rushed in and out of Jodi?s room which makes it feel like a drive -by wax given the $50 I pay for 5 quick minutes. more

What can I say that hasn't been said already? Jodi is the Goddess of Grooming. I started seeing her years ago when she still had her private home studio and now see Alex at their new boutique location. You can't go wrong with this place! They answer all of your questions, don't push products on you and offer helpful suggestions for your skin care. They make you feel so at ease. As a Brazillian newbie I was rather terrified to get this done, but Jodi made me feel so comfortable and not only talked me through the whole thing, but actually carried on a great and funny conversation. It was as quick as can be with great results and the pain wasn't as bad as I imagained. Lisa the recpetionist is also quite fabulous and extremely helpful. I've gone to Queen Bee Waxing twice for my waxing needs and both times I have been really impressed. Alexandra and Jodi, the two people who have worked with me, are amazing and Lisa, the receptionist is really impressive. She squeezed me in for an appointment but contacted me twice, upon my request, to see if any cancellations fit my schedule better. I've never had a receptionist so helpful! The website is a quick easy way to book an appointment and know how to prepare for the appointment (read it, it's helpful) and the waxing there is fantastic. Both times I was talked through the process while feeling comfortable and safe. The location is slightly hidden so there's not too much foot or parking traffic, which is a plus, and the place itself is very relaxing and sanitary. My experience at Queen Bee was great! This is the third place I've been to (Beba, and Ole Henrikson were the other two) This place is spotless and SANITARY. Jodi is just as quick as they say she is-- professional and friendly too. She talks you through the whole thing. The wax itself was about as painless as a wax could be, but it really helped that she was super quick. With the wax, payment and all, I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. Pros: Quick, clean, professional, evening appointments available Cons: She's super busy so you have to make an appointment in advance. (Could also be a pro, makes you feel secure that people trust her!) more

i love this place! clean, friendly and fast. this is THE place you should go to if needing a wax. i got a brazilian after many, many months of neglect because of the pain but Jodi was super! quick and virtually painless, she's very skilled and knowledgeable. the front desk staff, especially lisa, was genuinely friendly and so helpful in accommodating my schedule. by the way, Jodi is HILARIOUS!!! so yeah, can't say enough great things about queen bee waxing! just plan ahead because they get booked up fast. and while you're booking a brazilian, go ahead and schedule a brow appointment too, april and alex are awesome! I was really impressed with the bikini wax and the front desk receptionist. The bikini waxing was probably the best I've ever had. Go for the full monty...it is worth the small pain. Also, the front desk receptionist has a great memory, remembered who I was when I called back (I had only been in 1 time prior) and was very helpful with getting me tea at my first visit. I've been getting waxed since I was 13 years old and I've been to a ton of places throughout L.A. and Beverly Hills including Thibiant, BeeHive, Umberto, Pink Cheeks, and that is just to name a few. I decided to try Queen Bee because I read some great reviews on city search and it landed in the ""best of"" three years in a row. I called to make an appointment and they were booked, however they called me back and said there was a cancelation so I took it. Jodi is known for her 15 minute Brazilian wax and let me just say that before you can even blink the wax is over. When I read 15 minute wax I assumed it would be a crappy wax but it was the total opposite. Jodi was so fast, so precise, and incredibly knowledgeable. I couldn't believe that she could get all the hair as quickly as she did, but I went to the bathroom to check and it was the cleanest wax I had ever had! In addition, everyone there is incredibly nice and down to earth. No snobs. And my favorite part is that Jodi will have you laughing the entire time. She is hilarious! I'm almost 30 and I finally found the waxing place I've been looking for all these years. Pros: Quick, friendly staff, amazing skill more

I've always been curious about getting a men's brazilian and after researching all the places listed here, I went with Queen Bee Waxing. They had a ton of positive reviews so I felt more comfortable going there. April did the waxing and she made me feel completely at ease. Highly recommended. Mentally I had though the pain would be worse, but it just feels like someone is pinching you and the results are great. Will definitely be returning soon, but not too soon. i've always wanted to get a brazilian but didn't want to go into some random place. i was able to get an appointment for the next day in the late evening which was perfect for me because i work late hours. jodi was amazing, made me feel comfortable and she worked really quickly. i was nervous at first about the pain factor since i don't have a high tolerance for pain, but she was so efficient and friendly i swear i've had worse experiences at other places getting my upper lip waxed. amazing customer service and a really cute place. Thought it was a miracle that bikini waxing could be so painless. Waxing used to make me cry. (Don't laugh!) Laying on the table made me break out in a cold sweat. (No exaggeration!) But no more...Jodi's place is a miracle for sensitive girls like me. Not only is Jodi swift and painless, but the staff couldn't be nicer. Jodi is absolutely awesome and very booked. By all means, she is great but Alex is also one of the best. she is quick and friendly. Alex does brazilian, underarms, legs pretty much anything. Her facials are the best in Los Angeles. Queen Bee is a wonderful establishment. But remember Jodi isn't the only wonderful waxer there. If Jodi is booked, go see Alex she's just as good.
