I have used Pride Plumbing on several occasions over the past years and they have really become my 'go to' company for any plumbing issues. Very happy with Ross and his team. Recently I had Pride plumbing replace a sump pump. The plumber suggested an overflow drain in addition to a pricey installation of a sump pump. He communicated with me by phone while at residence where my son is living. My son was not shown a book with pricing. I was told an amount and agreed to replacement which was done in about 30 minutes according to my son. When I called to ask about breakdown of pump and labor no one returned my call. I am also concerned as the plumber wrote on the bill that the work was NOT under warranty as I did not purchase the overflow drain (another $170 or so). Again I called to ask about the warranty and my calls were not returned. In fairness the company did send someone out the next day and the gentleman that I scheduled service with was pleasant. However, I am disappointed with the lack of customer service and follow up as well as feeling a bit 'taken' as the pump and labor were pricey as well as the warranty apparently not honored (we were not told this nor do I believe the overflow would have been necessary as the house and pump have gotten along fine for years without it. RESPONSE FROM Pride Plumbing: My name Ross Madonia, owner of Pride Plumbing. I recall having a conversation with you the same day or the day after you originally called to discuss your concerns and I recall you being satisfied and understood better what the issue was and still is. The issue is that the discharge pipe is installed a few inches below grade and not pitched properly. Due to the severe cold weather this year your discharge pipe froze and burned out your sump pump. The additional cost was to rectify the situation so as to not allow the pipe to freeze and again burn out the newly installed sump pump. We would be happy to send the plumber back out again when your in town and able to meet us at your property to discuss the issue with you. more

I was a bit frantic Saturday 10:30 pm - water heater was leaking! Qk research after turning off the water into tank, and found coupon in phone book (as my plumber had retired). Spoke with Pride on Sunday and arranged for Monday AM. They called earlier than expected so we started earlier. Agreed to estimate (as I'd done some research- internet + friends) - plus had an unusual problem having to move gas piping to get tank out which knew would add to cost. Work moved quickly, cleanly, and Brian educated me on the mechanicals. He also checked a couple other items out for me (water filter, etc), and when his work was done (bleeding the water and gas pipes AND putting the pop-out door back in where the tank lives), he relit the fireplace and walked me through everything. We ended up signing up as a club member to gain priority and improved pricing, and that was applied to today's job, which made the annual club price a real value - in addition to the coupon. Brian stayed to inspect the entire house -- 25 years here and all plumbing is the original -- so we have some projects coming up, and Brian's firm (hopefully Brian) will help us through all that. David explained in detail what the work involved and made certain to give us, again in detail the cost of the job at hand. He also found a small leak I was not aware of and explained what needed to be done to fix it. His work exceeded our expectations and if/when we may need additional plumbing work done, we would not hesitate to recall Pride Plumbing. more

We recently had a burst pipe due to the extreme cold we're having. It started flooding our finished basement, we quickly shut off the water main and looked up area plumbers to call. The first one had too long of a wait list (because so many people were experiencing the same problem). Our second call was to Pride Plumbing and although their employees were all very busy as well, they assured us they would have someone to the house within 2 hours. We were so relieved when Keith arrived right on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. We felt completely comfortable with him. He replaced the section of burst pipe, explained why it happened in the area that it did and made sure everything was working properly. He also gave us some great tips on how to prevent the problem in the future and tips on cleaning up the standing water (that luckily flowed into utility room with concrete floors) and drying out the area. It's nerve-wracking calling companies you have zero experience with in emergency situations. You feel like you can easily be taken advantage of. Keith completely exceeded our expectations and the stressful situation was made stress-free because of him. We are very happy that the first company didn't have anyone to send because now we have a great plumbing company to use for future needs and also refer people to. My first contact with Pride Plumbing of Rochester was when I needed the main water valve, which was leaking, replaced in my basement. Due to the antiquity of the original main water valve in my home the technician contacted the owner of Pride Plumbing Mr. Ross Madonia who suggested to contact a company specializing in this field. Impressed with the honesty and business integrity, when I decided to have a tank less water heater installed there was no question who was going to supply the tank as well as who is going to install it. Keith Smith, the employee of Pride Plumbing, who sells as well as installs the product, did an outstanding job, explaining the product and installing it. Any further necessary plumbing work required in my home will be performed by Pride Plumbing of Rochester. more

Plumbing failure is always stressful and often urgent.. When Ross (owner) answered the phone on a Saturday afternoon he resolved the stress with great demeanor and clear words. Brian arrived three hours later and solved the emergency; a waste line plug about 60 ft out. He ran the auger twice 3inch and 4inch. About an hour and $400 later we can take our plumbing for granted again. Nice clear assessment, he cleaned up after the job. He also glue the cleanout extension back on that our home builder forgot to do. more

We called Pride Plumbing to repair a broken sump pump that was running continuously and over-heating. The licensed plumber arrived approximately 30 minutes later. He was very courteous and professional and did an excellent job installing our new American-made sump pump and back-up pump systems. We would highly recommend Pride Plumbing. more

Who wants a plumbing problem on a Saturday? No one, but, if you have one call Pride! I went downstairs at 8:30, noticed a wet basement and thought it might be the sump pump. I called a few places, and Pride was the only place that said they could come promptly with a fully stocked truck to make a repair. Steve showed up by 10:15 and was done installing a new sump pump in a little over an hour. He was neat, clean, knowledgeable and polite. He even brushed the water off the basement floor when he finished. He showed me the pricing book and accepted the yellow pages coupon. I have found my new go-to plumbing service. Thanks! more

Steve was courteous prompt and got the frozen water line thawed out and functioning quickly in the worst of conditions. It was 8 degrees outside and he was laying under a modular temporary building doing the repair that serviced two bathrooms a kitchen and a Science room. Thanks for a job well done. more
