Portland's dismal winters have always been a challenge for me, with its lack of sunshine and steady drizzle. But this year my mood has been a happy one, and I wake up full off energy. Why? Because I joined Portland Fit Body Bootcamp in SE Portland. Starting my day with Trainers who are truly dedicated to making members sweat yet making the workout fun, energizes me, and makes me walk out the gym feeling like I can face anything.\r \r Unlike other gyms, yoga classes, and the swim classes I've joined, at Portland Fit Body Bootcamp the trainers vary their sessions from day to day; they all know my name; and, they are willing to stay and show me how to do the exercises correctly. The members are also very helpful, encouraging, and dedicated to working hard while having a good time.\r \r Portland Fit Body Bootcamp in SE Portland makes me feel younger, has toned me up, and has put me in better spirits. It gives me an exceptional way to start my day. Via weekly e-mails it alerts me to diets, recipes, and exercises to try. Bootcamp gives me a lot to think about. Would I recommend Portland Fit Body Bootcamp? Emphatically, yes. more

Great place! I really enjoy FBBC. I have always done various things to stay physically fit and FBBC is a great addition to that. The workouts are challenging and you work many different muscle groups and usually get some amount of cardio in at the same time. The owner, Emily, and the other bootcamp leaders are fantastic! I wasn't able to go consistently due to work, but Emily helped me work something out so I could at least come when I wasn't working. On top of that, I had an illness and my classes expired and she still worked with me to be able to get my money's worth once I had recovered. FBBC is a great way to get in shape, stay in shape, or improve your fitness. I highly recommend it. more

I???ve been going to PBBC for a little over four months. I started the beginning of 2012 when I participated in a 6-week revolution; committing to working out at least four days per week and changing my eating to the Paleo diet. I quickly began to love both the workouts and the diet (and have continued both beyond the revolution). There are many pros to attending PBBC. First Emily does a great job of creating a community. The support and relationship doesn???t begin and end in the workout room, but continues on facebook, emails, parties, Saturday coffee trips and occasional phone calls (especially if you fall off the wagon). The exercises and length of classes (45 minutes) are also a plus. You learn exercises you can do at home between chores or during commercial breaks; and the daily workouts are diverse enough that you never get bored. The only con at this point is the availability of the workouts. There are only four classes per day (on the hour from 6am to 9am) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and an 8am class on Saturday. Because there are no evening or afternoon classes, unless you have a flexible work schedule, the classes may be difficult to attend consistently. more

Portland Fit Body Boot Camp is great! I just started my 3rd week and love how it makes me feel so awake so early in the morning. Everyone is really nice and supportive, and it feels good to conquer the workouts as a group. Also, you NEVER repeat the same workout! They switch it up every day, so you never get bored and are always targeting different muscles. Regardless of your fitness level/weight/injuries, the instructors make this boot camp worth your while! more

I love it! I actually want to go everyday. I never get bored. I love having someone else plan the workout and I just have to show up. I am stronger in my upper body than I have been in years. Best way to start my day! more

To say that this class has changed my 2/3/2012

To say that this class has changed my life is a gross understatement. As a working mom of two little ones in a budget conscious, overstressed household, value and efficiency are necessary for my success. I have had a lifetime struggle with making fitness a part of my life, and this is the first thing that's ever kept my attention. With fun, diverse workouts that accommodate every fitness level, I have never felt bored or defeated. Every day is a better day for having gone to bootcamp! In my forties with two kids, and I have never been so in love with my own body - the results have been AWESOME!!!! more

I'm so glad that I joined Fit Body Bootcamp. My expectations were far exceeded. I expected that the classes would be just like my old gym but it has been so much more. Fit Body Bootcamp is more of a community than just an exercise class. At Fit Body Bootcamp you are given encouragement not just by the instructors but also by everyone else you are working out with. Everyone is friendly there. Fit Body Bootcamp is unlike any of your run of the mill gyms. The staff has helped all of the members to seriously lose weight by giving us challenges, rewards, encouragement, support, and advice regarding not only our exercise habits but our diets as well. If you are thinking about getting into shape, you should definitely try this out. You will have fun and feel good. If you are looking for accountability, this is where you will find it. You won't regret it. more

Let me just start by saying.... Emily is fantastic :) I started bootcamp at the beginning of this year and I love love LOVE it. The first week was a little rough with the weigh in and being an overly self conscious girl at the largest I have ever been in my life. But not only was she sweet, she was ENCOURAGING!! The workouts are fun, different, and challenging. I look forward to class every day and don't mind going to bed early to make sure I get there in the morning. I would recommend Emily and Portland Fit Body Bootcamp to EVERYBODY - man, woman, young, old, super athlete, to beginner. It's awesome :) more

I joined Portland Fit Body Boot Camp 2/1/2012

I joined Portland Fit Body Boot Camp just over 1 year ago. I cannot recommend this group and trainer enough! I have never been a person who excercised regularly. I was scared to start such a hardcore program but Emily gave me such personal attention and encouragement. The other people in the class are all so positive. This really is a tight community with so much support offered. I have lost 70 lbs. in one year!!! I am healthier, stronger, faster, fitter, and happier. This class changed my life. more

Portland Fit Body Bootcamp 8/1/2011

I was in a rut. I'd done the couch to 5k running program but my knees and ankles were screaming at me to stop running. The gym had become flat out tedious (even the classes were getting repetitive) and I was losing all motivation to get and stay in shape. Then, along came Emily and her boot camp and my salvation from dull, same ol' thing workouts! I was a little terrified to start but there was no need to be. Emily is so fantastic at keeping you motivated and being supportive while also working with you to push your own limits. The class is also full of great, equally supportive folks and we all work to cheer each other on. Emily is full of great resources on nutrition and overall health too and she really works to make sure we all have access to that information. When I first started I couldn't do more than a few push ups but I actually have biceps now for the first time in my life! I'm more toned overall and my energy actually sustains me throughout the day. I seriously crave the workouts now and get pretty bummed out when I have to miss a class. You will sweat, you will be sore, you will want to give up a few times, but you will also get stronger, feel better, and laugh a lot! You will also give and receive A LOT of high fives =) more

Highly recommended 3/28/2011

Since I have been working out with Emily Johnson at Fit Body Bootcamp I have become stronger and more fit, I have a lot more energy and I sleep better. Emily is a phenomenal trainer with a gift for inspiring others to bring out the best in themselves. The class is very supportive and it is a wonderful way to start the day - and I'm not a morning person. I can't recommend this program highly enough! more

Awesome Class! Great Results! 3/19/2011

Words can't describe how awesome Emily's Fit Body Bootcamp is...but my waistline can! I've been with FBBC for just under two months and I've dropped dress sizes, have tons more energy and am way more flexible than I have been in years. As an instructor, Emily's energy is contagious and she really has motivated me to push myself further than I thought possible. I've never really been a person who was super into exercising, but now I look forward to every workout and even miss the class when I'm not there. I highly recommend it to anyone at any fitness level. more

Great class - very supportive environment 3/11/2011

This is a great class - Emily's a very motivational trainer and provides excellent modifications for those of us with injuries or physical issues (I have a bad knee which requires a lot of TLC). I started the camp 5 weeks ago and have already lost 18 lbs (18!!!). I'm healthier, fitter and more flexible. I even enjoy getting up early, which is quite the transformation for an avowed night-owl. more

Portland Boot Camp - Best Personal Trainer! 3/2/2011

Fit Body Boot Camp in SE Portland is the exact fitness routine I was looking for. Emily Johnson is an excellent personal trainer. The classes are small and intimate, so it feels like you have your very own personal trainer. The people are friendly and encouraging. I wanted to get on an exercise regime that was consistent and challenged what I can do. I wanted to push myself and see results from my hard work. I lost 10 pounds in just a few weeks. I absolutely love getting up early and going to boot camp. In fact I use to be very much a night person. I never thought I would be going to a 6am class, but now I can imagine doing it any other way. I have energy all through the day and feel amazing. I would highly recommend Emily and Portland's Fit Body Boot Camp to anyone who wants to feel great, get one on one personal training and change their life. more

Best Class EVER! 1/20/2011

I absolutely love Portland Fit Body Bootcamp with Emily Johnson, which is really funny to say because I have always had a bad attitude about exercise and have had many false starts when it comes to joining gyms and taking classes. I feel like I have finally found something that I feel enthusiastic about and motivated to do on a regular basis. The location is convenient, class times are good for my schedule and the work out is always fun and different. Emily is great about customizing the various exercises to fit every level of fitness and there is a great variety of fitness levels in the class, so no one need be intimidated. I am noticeably stronger, have more energy and have a lot less general body pain from my physically challenging job. I cannot recommend this class highly enough, it is simply great! more

Portland Fit Body Bootcamp Rocks 12/19/2010

I love Portland Fit Body Boot Camp with Emily! I have tried so many different diets and exercise routines and nothing helped me reach my fitness goals. After only two weeks I had lost 4.5 pounds and over an inch off of my waist line. I am stronger, am sleeping better and have more energy. This is a great alternative to a gym or the generic health club. The atmosphere is lively and comfortable. One of the things I like the most about boot camp is that it works for all ability and fitness levels. If you want to lose weight, get in shape or get in better shape Emily is your personal trainer. more

I had been feeling tired and unhealthy until beginning Emily Johnson?s fitness program. In no time, her personal training had me whipped into shape! I?ve lost weight, my self image is greater, and I have significantly more natural energy. Her Boot Camp is so much fun! Emily is an all-star personal trainer who is dedicated to my health and well being. I would recommend her Bootcamp to anyone who is feeling fat and tired (and that?s just about everyone!). I had avoided going to the gym because I was unfamiliar with how to train, but Emily is experienced and easy to learn from. I had thought I could not dedicate a portion of each day to my own health and fitness, and I was so wrong! You can do this! Start today! more

Portland Fit Body Bootcamp 11/28/2010

I had forgotten how important fitness, training and encouragement are to feeling great, fit and healthy. I was never someone who thought ""mornings"" and ""bootcamp"" would ever enter my mind for exercise, but my husband loved it and thought it might be a turning point for my chronic pain issues. He was right! Emily is amazing, and she understands how moving and changing up the exercises, yoga moves and stretching are vital to keep her class motivated, interested and revitalized after every class. I've never felt pressured to push too hard, although I really want to and I'm working up to it with constant encouragement from everyone in the class. Gyms are a little much, and finding the time at night has just been too exhausting, but a morning boot camp with nice folks and the incredibly professional AND kind Emily are an amazing way to jump start mind and body for a good day. I have some muscle memory from past training and I am AMAZED at how I notice a difference in muscle tone after even one work-out. Crazy, but true. I feel great, can't wait to start really getting strong, and I'm fitting into my ""skinnier"" jeans! This has been life-changing for my attitude and my health...and it keeps getting better. There is no better way to beat the winter blues in Portland! more
