Terrible customer service 6/20/2008

Pool and spa depot has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We were price shopping between there and Watson's both in Antioch. We walked into pool and spa depot and they were not only snobby but didnt even bother to ask if we needed help. They only payed attention where they thought they had a sale. A simple acknowledgement that we will be with you as soon as possible would have been just fine. Instead, they looked up at us and continued what they were doing with no acknowledgement whatsoever. We didnt walk in like dirty, nasty people but even if we had, we may have just got off work. You never know. Thats okay.....Watson's got our business and did a wonderful job!!! Cons: the sales people that work there need be replaced. more

worst place on earth 5/4/2008

I purchased a spa and received the wrong color. They promised a check in the mail to make up for it (never came). Filter cover, siding, and radio control broke within two months and can't get anyone to fix it. Needs to be turned into the better business more often. Cons: lie,lie,lie more

Avoid Pool and Spa Depot 3/13/2008

Avoid using Pool and Spa Depot, I hired Pool and Spa Depot to move a hot tub for me; they came out (took them almost 3 hours to get there) they informed me up front the cost was $300.00. I was desperate to have it moved, however when I asked about the electrical he said oh, you don't need that. Well, yes I do need that, so I called him later and ask him to please come back and remove it for me, he has said TWICE I'll be there, he is yet to appear. I'll never use them for anything and don't recommend them. $300.00 for twenty minutes work, unbelievable! Cons: bad service more

Questionable Sales Tactics, Poor Communication, No Customer Service 8/19/2007

All started in 1/07. Went in and salesman wrote up workorder after we discussed what we wanted. The work order had several line items. At bottom of proposal was the price for everything we selected all together. When asked how much a specific line item was (such as a SAM light), the salesman would just say ""Oh that's included"". Remembering back it's as if he didn't list the price of each individual item so we wouldnt think we could take it off the order to reduce the cost of the project. He informed that there was only a standard $500 deposit to start the installation. We left and few weeks later contacted him to start the installation of everything on the workorder with the exception of a slightly smaller pool in 2/07. He said I would need to come in & sign a contract, pay a deposit. A deposit which he NOW informed would be much higher, because we were having a large pool installed. I guess he forgot he told us the deposit is only $500 & we actually went down on the size of the pool. Now the deposit is $15,000. Not wanting to prolong the dream of having a pool, I didn't complain & scheduled to come in & sign & pay. I went in & he wrote up a contract. The contract was not in the same format as the sales order slip he had initially wrote up & didn't have separate line items. I asked him to write down the items that were listed specifically on the contract that were on the sales order- because I had informed we wanted to go ahead with the work except a smaller pool. He didn't want to write everything down & said ""This isn't a car lot, we are going to stand behind what we say"". It took 10 weeks from the time I signed the contract for them to start anything for my pool. They ended up not including items on the workorder and would refer to the contract where things were missing. Not to mention, while they were working at my house I heard several workers talking about being on probation, who's knows for what. Not safe to do work w/them! more

8week Nightmare 8/10/2007

What a nightmare. It took 8wks to install my in ground pool. First the hole was not deep enough. Then it was too deep. Not enough gravel sent one day. Plumbing was not deep enough. Had to cut a hole in my garage wall for electrical. They know great dry wallers!! Left inground pipes exposed. Back yard is tore up to a tune of 1500 dollars for a landscaper. Leftover sand, gravel, and dry cement in yard. Never get to talk to a real person when you call there. Lucky if they return your calls. The molding around the top that holds the liner in doesnt fit together. One half an inch space in between. I don't reccomend Pool and Spa Depot to anyone. This pool was a major expense and nobody should have to go through what I went through. more

Avoid 7/26/2007

Went in the store to buy a reputable spa. After looking at many models they showed me a ""Special Order"" that was cancelled by th epurchaser and they would give ame a great deal on it. It was brand new but did have some cosmetic blemishes. They sold me a spa that they claimed was Catalina. I bought it, scheduled delivery and then went home thinking I was in good shape. Out of curosity I started researching that specific model on the internet. Come to find out it was not a Catalina Spa. It was actually made by a company that only retails them on e-bay. Exact pictures of mine listed right on the sellers page who happened to be the manufacturer. When I went back with the printed evidence in hand they refused to believe me and tried to tell me all spas are made by the same comany and then sold to the retailers who put their own label on them. They fought me over giving me my money back and treated me like dirt. Manager was rude and crude in his conversations. STAY AWAY!! Cons: everything more

AVOID POOL AND SPA DEPOT. NO MANAGEMENT 4/1/2007

As of today they have yet to finish our pool. We purchased a pool a year ago and we have the frame and the lining in but that is it. They will not return any calls and the lining now has an air bubble in it. Look like an egg. Dinasour egg. more
