FYI to anyone actually paying any attention to these reviews.\r All of the negative ones have been written by pacific Office Automation competitors.\r Its their only angle as they are clearly out performed with regard to service in this indystry.\r Ask for references from existing customers when considering POA and they will let you know what a great company this is! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/30/2014

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They came into our office and took advantage of the fact that we were all newer employees and hadn't been with the company when we signed our original copier lease. They LIED to us and told us our copier leases were up when they were not! They also told us that that our current copiers were owned by them when they were not! They were trying to poach us from Copytronix our current lease-holders. They made up false statistics regarding our copier usage and promised us lower monthly payment.\r \r They planned to pick up our copiers today (which they didn't even own) and replace them with new copiers. We would have been stuck paying them and our old lease for two more years (the remainder of our current lease). Plus we may have had to pay for the STOLEN copiers. Luckily we were alerted by Copytronix before they delivered the copiers.\r \r This is completely unethical and almost unbelievable! I plan to tell everyone I know! SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR COMPANY! We are a non-profit. If they are willing to do this to us, they will do it to anyone! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/19/2013

Do not use this company unless you read the entire lease and understand it. 1st they brought out a higher end machine than the one we had discussed. The other people are right. The lease increases each year. The over charges are based on a much lower figure than what you use. We have 2 more years on our lease and they want to now exchange it and I would have to sign a new 5 year lease. Not going to happen. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/20/2013

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! A 5yr lease WILL increase annually 15% along with your maintenance contract! This will NOT be disclosed to you when we signed their contract and the lease company will tell you the vendor (Pacific Office) can change it. When you ask them to do this for you, they will say ""sorry, you signed it and there's nothing we can do...unless we signed another 5yr lease""!\r \r Their techs will show up 4-5 days later, multiple times and will tell your staff they are NOT factory trained to work on the machine(s) you have, and will blame management for not having them trained properly...BUT its all good because they are having a huge party tonight where everyone is getting hammered, of course in the office. \r \r The only time you see your sales rep is when they want to sell you something and that's made possible by techs not taking care of the equipment you paid good $$$ for. If you upgrade your equipment early ALL remaining payments will be wrapped into the new lease, BUT they won't tell you that. \r \r I would encourage you to contact a company that is honest and their staff actually sleeps well at night knowing their customers are being taken care of and nothing is hidden. more

Watch out for Heather Chamberlain-- she will do NOTHING but screw you over. Royally. Horrible customer service, false advertising, etc. more

Word of warning: document EVERYTHING 5/2/2012

Word of warning: document EVERYTHING when you want to end the lease (certified, return-receipt mail), because if you read my post and others like it, they WILL try to weasle out of ending the lease. Count on it. I could tell go on to tell you a story of the AMAZING tactics they use to pretend they didn't receive our letter of intent to end the lease, but I'll leave it to your imagination. I can't give it 1 star because the machines operated pretty well, and we were pretty fortunate with our service techs. But watch your lease. more

I hate this company. They are liars, 3/27/2012

I hate this company. They are liars, cheaters, and use a lot of drugs in the work place so I have heard....I feel bad for anyone that works or has a lease agreement with them. There lack of customer service and the way the treat there employee is terrible. I have heard them talk to there employees in the most horrible ways calling them names, making them cry, and executive doing nothing about it or joining in on the verbal abuse..stay far far away. more

A very good company 8/22/2011

This company appeared suspicious to me from the start from all of their radio ads over the years and the occasional drop in salesman. I tried to stay away from them. One day we bought a Sharp MX410N PCL6 from a sister company of ours and it came in damaged. Pacific Office Automation was the only authorized dealer so I held my breath and gave them a try. To my amazement they have excelled in each and every step along the way. This machine did not come from them but they were most helpful at getting it going for the least amount of cost to us. They sent the appropriate tech's out here to address the problem--hardware/software types. They were always punctual and they always went beyond the call to get our issue resolved. Now, we are under contract which I feel is reasonably priced. They are here for us and even this morning when I called and told them it was not urgent the best guy--his name is Able-- was here in about an hour. He did a great job as usual--troubleshooting and resolving the issue. I have great things to say about Pacific Office Automation. They are a top notch company! What a ripoff! 6/2/2011

Man, this is the first time I've ever written a bad review for any business--as a business owner, I understand how damaging they can be. However, I'm completely rankled after my shady experience with these guys! I contacted Pacific Office Automation about supplying me with a printer for my small business. The lease agreement was $99/month for 60 months. Yep, five years, equalling almost $6000. I emailed the representative I'd been in contact with and asked how much the printer would cost if I bought it outright or put a large down payment on it, since $6000 over five years seemed pretty intense. His email back said ""It is better to lease because you can upgrade as your business needs change and write it off as a business expense."" That's all, didn't answer my question at all, which roused my suspicion. A quick Google search informed me that I could buy the EXACT SAME PRINTER from zapcopiers online for $2400. Free shipping, delivered within a week. That's just over a third the price for the same thing. I called him to talk to him about it, and he told me that they sell the copier for $4000, but he ended up offering it to me at cost, for $2600. At that point, however, I felt like he'd been neither honest nor forthcoming with me, and wanted nothing more to do with them! If he'd simply answered my (very straightforward) question in the first place, I never would've looked online and we could've avoided the whole thing. I feel like they blatantly tried to wring the most money possible out of me, instead of offering me their product honestly at a reasonable price. On the upside, zapcopiers is awesome! more

biggest scam artists in portland area 3/15/2011

this business is an absolute joke. they installed parts in my printer that i didn't need. they didn't even ask me ahead of time. they charge outrageous rates. i wrote down the guy's time and he blatantly lied and tried to rip me off 15 minutes, which equals $30. on top of everything, he tried to walk out the door with nearly $500 dollars and the problem i called him in for wasn't even fixed! seriously DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO USE THIS BUSINESS! YOU WILL REGRET IT! more

Don't 1/18/2011

If you like ""used car"" slimy sales experiences, poor customer service, verbal agreements that never make the paper contract, toner that is complete junk, incorrect calculations for CPC, inflexible billing terms, sales reps that do not follow up....ever.....after the contract is signed, then definitely go with POA. \r more

Exemplifying Great Customer Service 11/22/2010

Your employees exemplify the meaning of customer service they have gone above and beyond at every point. They listened to our needs and were able to put together a solid leasing package and sold us the equipment that best meets our needs. Never did I get the feeling they were trying to sell us something that wasn't right for us. They listened, and then fulfilled our needs. more

Great Customer Service 11/22/2010

I have had excellent service from your company. The service person calls back within an hour or so after my initial call to your company's Service Department. The call-back gives me the chance to explain what is happening with the machine and the assurance from your repair person that he will be out soon and fix the problem. No matter how serious it seems, they always are able to fix it in a short amount of time. We do not always get the same person, but they all treat our needs with the same concern and confidence that they can take care of our machines problem more

Competitive pricing and professional attitude 7/27/2010

We've had Pacific handing our copier/printers for several years. Recently we shopped the pricing, and they were competitive, which made my boss feel good about the money we've spent thus far. The sales rep makes all the difference, and I really like ours. Pros: We have a great rep that takes care of us well Cons: tech guys are nerdy more

Nice guys, and we have more that I asked for 7/21/2010

I don't have much problem with these guys. My printer runs great. I had a problem with a consistent jam, and since their service, there has been no issues. The rep I worked with knew what I needed better than I did. Got my company running quickly. They solved some major issues we were having outside of just our printer. Talking with her was worthwhile. Service has been solid. Then again I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Pros: Our rep was funny and new our needs Cons: PreSales calls were too many post sales too few more

Get accurate info from Better Business Bureau 7/20/2010

Most of these complaints are just plain stupid.\r \r People did not read contract.\r People did not seek help. ( 100 service call, really? )\r \r There are many of the same people making the same complaint over and over.\r \r There are zero unresolved Better Business Bureau complaints. A company of this size will always do business with somebody who ends up with an ax to grind but the facts speak for themselves.\r \r more

Beware of this company 5/25/2010

First, I'm not sure why RB42 thinks that just because he is happy with POA no one else has a right to complain about them. Just because he hasn't had a problem doesn't mean the company is good to work with. Apparently those of us who have been screwed by POA don't have a life if we attempt to warn others so that they don't get stuck in the same position. \r \r I contacted two people at POA one month before I thought our 3 year lease expired and notified them that we did not intend to renew our lease. All I was told was that our lease did not expire for another 3 months. I also told them the machine no longer worked and asked that it be picked up. The machine was not picked up, and nothing else was said, so two months later I contacted one of them again to have the machine picked up. At this time, I was informed that we should have mailed a letter of intent to the company that leases the machine. I'm still not sure who the leasing company is because the notice I get is signed from Pacific Office Automation, but the two people I have talked to claim it is a different company, not POA. I immediately mailed a letter of intent to the address I was given, but it was too late. Now the ""leasing company"" is demanding that we pay $8000 to not renew our lease or else renew our lease at a minimum cost of about $8000. I talk to someone at the ""leasing company,"" and he says I have a signed contract. I do not have a copy of the contract. I talk to someone at POA, and he states that it is my fault that I do not have a contract, all I had to do is ask for one. He also states that he was under no obligation to tell me that he was the wrong person to contact regarding not renewing my lease. He also blames the new leasing company for not telling me what I needed to do to not renew my lease with POA. Let me be perfectly clear: I am not even talking about breaking a lease; I am talking about not renewing a lease. I paid POA over $30,000 over the last 3 years, but that isn't enough for them. No one will take responsibility for not pointing me in the right direction even though they clearly knew what my intent was. I own a small, struggling business, and $8000 could put me out of business, but POA doesn't care. They will take no responsibility for withholding vital information from me that is going to cost me $8000 and possibly my business. Pros: absolutely none Cons: deceitful practices; terrible customer service more

Con Artists 3/13/2010

I bought and paid for a machine. They were a month late providing it. The contract stated I would be paid a stated amount as a buy out of my old machine. They never paid me.They took my old machine and never returned it to the company that leased it to me. I am out thousands of dollars now. This is criminal. Cons: Dishonest sales reps more
