Review content:
Man, this is the first time I've ever written a bad review for any business--as a business owner, I understand how damaging they can be. However, I'm completely rankled after my shady experience with these guys! I contacted Pacific Office Automation about supplying me with a printer for my small business. The lease agreement was $99/month for 60 months. Yep, five years, equalling almost $6000. I emailed the representative I'd been in contact with and asked how much the printer would cost if I bought it outright or put a large down payment on it, since $6000 over five years seemed pretty intense. His email back said ""It is better to lease because you can upgrade as your business needs change and write it off as a business expense."" That's all, didn't answer my question at all, which roused my suspicion. A quick Google search informed me that I could buy the EXACT SAME PRINTER from zapcopiers online for $2400. Free shipping, delivered within a week. That's just over a third the price for the same thing. I called him to talk to him about it, and he told me that they sell the copier for $4000, but he ended up offering it to me at cost, for $2600. At that point, however, I felt like he'd been neither honest nor forthcoming with me, and wanted nothing more to do with them! If he'd simply answered my (very straightforward) question in the first place, I never would've looked online and we could've avoided the whole thing. I feel like they blatantly tried to wring the most money possible out of me, instead of offering me their product honestly at a reasonable price. On the upside, zapcopiers is awesome!
