Absolutely Awful Do Not Ever GO!!!! EVER!!! 1/13/2011

I've been there twice, and both times it was absolutely awful. The first time was for my senior prom. I bought my dress from there because the one I found was gorgeous. But the service was awful and the people ridiculous. They don't allow you to take pictures or tell you the style numbers of the dresses. They only write them down for in store use, so you can't go anywhere and ask for the same dress. They even change the style numbers to their own internal numbers on the dress tags. So anyway, even after the horrible service, I purchased my prom dress from the shop. When my dress came in, it needed about a thousand alterations. It had very intricate detailing around the bottom with only about a 4 inch section of fabric separating it from the floor. SInce the dress needed to be hemmed, they decided to hack at the bottom of the dress to shorten it. Of course, I was unaware of all of this until I got the dress home once all of the alterations were finished. The bottom was jagged and uneven, including the 3 layers underneath it as well. It was awful!!!! So why did I go back? Well, I had been looking at wedding gowns online and found this gorgeous Maggie Sotterro gown I loved. I called all around, to every bridal shop in the area, no one had the dress I wanted to see. So reluctantly I made an appointment to go try the dress on. When I got there, the women were awful. They were of no help whatsoever. It was my first time out looking for a wedding dress, but I thought maybe they were supposed to at least offer suggestions. Nothing! They made the day anything but enchanted. It was awful. Just stay away! more

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT 12/11/2010

My daughter, myself and her mother in law to be, along with 2 of the 6 bridesmaids went to look at wedding gowns. my daughter found a dress on the rack and her eyes lit up and she said ""this is the dress"" when she put the dress on she looked beautiful almost like the princess that she is( to me and her father anyway). Well we decided to order the dress and proceded to order the dress and I put 60% down on the dress in good faith thinking that the measurements were right( I am no seamstress and do not sew or even know how to measure for a dress or anything). Well when they ordered the dress they ordered a size 6. my daughter has never been a size 6 and wears a size 9. She took her bridesmaids to another store to look for dresses and asked the salesperson at the other salon about the size difference in her dress because when she measured my neice for a bridesmaid dress she ordered her a size 4 and she wears a size 00. the salesperson told her to go back to the bridal store and get measured again. Well this time we met the owner (linda), what a piece of work, I can't believe this woman stays in business the way she treats people. We told her of our concern that the dress was ordered too small and could she re-measure my daughter, well when she did the measurements were different than before and she said my daughter gained 2 inches around her waist in less that 2 months. my daughter had lost about 12 lbs in the meantime. I asked for my money back at that time and she refused. Linda was so rude and nasty with us and told us the dress was not even a wedding dress that it was a debutante dress. She asked us to wait until the dress came in and go from there. She would order another dress if the first one didn't fit. I said ""no"" if the dress doesn't fit when it comes in I want my money back. I said why not just give me the money back since she would be stuck with the dress that didn't fit and stated she could ""put the dress that didn't fit on the rack and sell it to a debutante because debutants love this dress"". I agreed to wait until the dress came in because we really didn't know for sure that it wouldn't fit. Low and behold the dress came in 6 days after linda said it would and we went immediately to try on the dress. it was so small it couldn't even be zipped up the back the whole way. I requested my money back. Linda had someone else measure my daughter again and this time the measurements were the same as the first time and the woman stated my daughter was a perfect size 6. I don't think so because the dress didn't fit. Linda took the dress in the back (where we were not allowed) and stated she measured the dress and the manufacturer did not make a size 6. linda stated she called the company and told them and they were going to send another dress(in a size 6). I stood my ground and said I did not want another dress I wanted my money back. I was told to leave the store or she would have me escorted out by the police and I was not getting my money back. I told her go ahead and call the police because I wasn't leaving until I got my money back. Police arrived and tried to get my money back for me but Linda refused. The police officer told me to go to the magistrate to continue with this. To the magistrates office the very next day and am now awaiting our day in court. will continue this review once the court appearance is over with. I hope we win and if not well at least we gave it our best shot. please do not partronize this establishment. Go somewhere else. This woman is such a difficult person to deal with. The saleswoman we dealt with is no longer there and every time I have been in there, there are different people working there so I wonder what her employee turnover is like. sorry this is such a long review, but I wanted everyone to know what type of experience we had here and I don't want anyone else to be as upset as my daughter is. This is supposed to be a very memorable day. more

What fun! 11/11/2010

I walked into One Enchanted Evening just to simply try on wedding dresses and get ideas for what I wanted. At this point my tastes were all over the board...sparkles? ruffles? lace? I couldn't put a finger on exactly what I envisioned. And I didn't call before and make an appointment. (you should always do that) I was immediately greeted and when I told her that I didn't have an appointment, she first offered to squeeze me in before her next appointment . I knew that wasn't going to work, so she then offered another appointment later where we had more time. But she took every minute before her next appointment to just chat and let me look around the store. When I came back, I was disappointed that the woman who greeted me earlier wasn't doing my consultation. The woman working with me now at first followed me around the floor suggesting dresses. But she immediately picked up that I wanted to look on my own (i didn't have to say anything) and let me know that we would start with 5 dresses. I limited myself to 5 dresses and headed back to the fitting room where she had pulled 5 more dresses as her suggestions. Now, I know what I want to look like and didn't really communicate with her what I envisioned as I couldn't put it into words, so I was worried about the selections she had pulled for me to try. But let me tell you, in the end I choose one of the dresses she picked (!!!!!!!) I was treated like a VIP. I have never been in the store before. I had so much fun with all the women I talked to. They were friendly and helpful and honest and downright sweet. I had a roomful of dresses (and if you have ever tried on dresses you know how much work it is!) and I asked to bustle every dress I had on and asked for a veil to see what it would look like. The wonderful woman who helped me, picked out a different veil for each dress and enthusiastically helped me into and out of every dress....some even twice because I couldn't decide. I had a wonderful time at one enchanted evening. Thank you to everyone there! more

What a Horrible Shopping Experience!! 5/15/2010

My daughter was going to her first prom and my wife took her out looking for dresses. They found one that they liked and purchased it and we were told it would be approx $40.00 for Alterations. When they went back for the alterations (The dress fit fine) they pinned it for the hemming and the seamstess said that they should take it in just a little bit. The cost was not $40.00 but $110.00 (we should have taken the dress and have another seamstress do the work) Two weeks before the prom they went out to pick up the dress and the dress was entirely too tight and the front of the dress was longer than the back. The seamstress said she would fix it. They went back again and it still was too tight and the hemming was the same. The seamstress was not there. They said they would fix it and my wife called to see if the dress was ready and they said it was so my wife asked if they were open on Sunday and if the seamstress woudl be there and they said they were(even though it was Mother;s Day). The shop called my daughter on Saturday and she told them that we would be out the next day and they said they were open 12 - 5. When we got there there was a sign on the door - closed for Mothers day. My wife and daughter went out on Monday and there was no apology and the dress still did not fit. We said we wanted the dress fixed and we would be there on Wednesday and wanted to see the owner (Linda) and the seamstress. (The Prom was on Friday of that week) When we went out on Wednesday the dress fit her but the hemming was still never touched. We asked for a refund of the Atteration fee and we were not given any adjustment at all. (This is why they have a F rating with the BBB). My wife had to end up hemming the dress. I wish we would have looked up the reviews before we purchased the dress they . Pros: Dress Cons: Customer service, Owner's Attitude more

Horrific Customer Service 2/13/2010

I have had two bad experiences at this store now. The first of which was when I was shopping for a bridal gown. When I put the gown on, I liked it. (which has nothing to do with the store but the designer). The consultant said ""that is your gown!! You have to order it now, if we wait one more day, it will not be here on time"". She also told me that because of my bust size, i should order one size large, and 8, or the dress wouldn't fit. The designer was Sottero and Midgley. I went to another store, one week later, and was told that the Sottero and Midgley dresses take six months, not EIGHT as One Enchanted Evening told me, and that i was a perfect size six - and i was shown the designer's size card to prove it. I ended up getting my dress from Bridal Beginings, and had minimal alterations (One Enchanted evening would have had to alter the whole thing -thus making money) AND had the dress in plenty of time. Pros: Location is Convienent Cons: Bad Service and LIES! more

Cruelty 2/13/2010

I had heard from multiple people that the owner of this store is a real piece of work, but in my quest for a wedding dress I was willing to give one enchanted evening a shot. That was until I pulled up and to my disgust saw fur prominently displayed in the window. I immediately left. Like many I know, I refuse to give my business to people who have a cold steel box for a heart. Nobody should spend a day meant to celebrate love dressed in a gown that was purchased from a store that capitalizes on death and cruelty. Not to mention the dresses are gaudy and tasteless, and from what I hear extremely overpriced.? Pros: They are likely to go out of business soon. Cons: Tacky, Gaudy, Overpriced, Cruel, Horrible Management more

Great Experience 2/4/2010

I have to say I vehmently disagree with the negative reviews posted here. I had a great experience when I chose my ""perfect"" wedding gown as well as my beautiful bridesmaid dresses. The entire process of my selections thru our alterations was smooth and stress-free. I bought my prom gown at One Enchanted Evening and even though I did shop other stores for my bridal gown, I found the gowns at One Enchanted Evening to be different and fashion-forward. I have recommended One Enchanted Evening to my friends and family and will continue to do so. Pros: Different & Beautiful Gowns & Great Customer Service more

Good, not great 1/20/2010

I bought my wedding gown there in 2007, and I have to say I love the dress I bought however, I was not pleased with the service I received after I bought the dress. First, the dress sample was the size they needed to order and I know for a fact that instead of ordering me a new one from the manufacturer that they just put that one in the back. I know this b/c I worked in bridal stores before and they do the exact thing. Second, they never called me to tell me it came in b/c they already had it in the back and I had to call them 3 months before my wedding to ask if it came in. Third, when I went for my alteration appointment, I noticed a few beads were missing, a strap was broke and there a little dirt on it. I mean, if they are going to do that, they should at least clean it. Also, they stopped carrying Anjolique which was the brand of my dress. I did have a pleasurable experience though when I first went there and found the dress but after that the manager (I forget her name b/c it's been so long) was very rude. She made her sale and it seemed like she didn't care. The owner is also very rude when you call to ask questions. I did have a good experience with the seamstress though. more

Terrible Customer Service and Insensitive Staff 9/21/2009

My experience at One Enchanted Evening in Wexford, PA has been the worst thus far during my wedding planning process. One of my bridesmaids will be eight and a half months pregnant at my wedding and was having difficulty with the dress I selected, as I didn't know she was pregnant until after picking the dress. The staff at OEE (specifically Donna) was not helpful in trying to find an alternative dress and in fact suggested to her that instead of participating in the wedding as a bridesmaid, that she do a reading. Pros: Dress Selection Cons: Terrible Customer Service, Difficult to Work With more

Great, knowledgeable bridal store 8/12/2009

After getting engaged, my friend recommended One Enchanted Evening to me. I called and set up an appointment and was surprised to see what a selection that had in the store. There is something for every bride in there. I had almost no clue as to what to expect, or what I wanted. My consultant was there to answer every question I had, which believe me, was a lot. I found my dream dress, and as promised it arrived in six months. When I came back with my bridesmaids, we were again greeted with nothing but kindness and knowledge of the many options they had. All of my six girls were thrilled with the store. My mother also got her dress there, and said that they had a wide variety to choose from. When it was time for my alterations to be done, the seamstress was very patient and explained everything to me. I thought the pricing was pretty consistent with other seamstresses I had spoken to, and you could tell this one had a lot of experience. If you're looking for bridal shoes, go here. I had a hard time of finding shoes, and they had the best selection I could find. Nothing but nice things to say about One Enchanted Evening. Pros: Great selection, patient employees Cons: none! more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! 5/7/2009

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! TERRIBLE AND RUDE SERVICE!! PLEASE READ!! MORE TERRIBLE REVIEWS FROM SEVERAL PEOPLE ON THE KNOT. My fianc? recently left a review about our recent experience with One Enchanted Evening and sad to say, it is 100% correct. I had to revise my original review about our experience and will say the following. -Throughout our process, once One Enchanted Evening had received payment for the dresses, good customer service stopped and the lies began. (See Chrissy's review) -The owner of this store did not care the slightest about all of the problems we had and was not shy about telling this to me when I called to file a complaint. -Within the first 15 seconds of our conversation I was hung up on because the owner would not tell me her first name. -When calling back the second time, she was extremely rude and vulgar throughout the entire phone conversation. (I could not get her name the entire conversation even though I asked several times) To avoid redundancy, please read Chrissy's review for specific details about our experience. Weddings are a stressful and expensive time in a bride?s life. I would HIGHLY recommend that future brides to be shop elsewhere. Orders were wrong, alterations were expensive, discounts were promised and then initially denied, credit cards were charged wrong and management was TERRIBLE to deal with. I have never had anyone talk to me like the owner of One Enchanted Evening did in my entire life; I just hope that brides to be read this and shop elsewhere Pros: Leaving the store Cons: EVERYTHING more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! 5/7/2009

On Enchanted Evening bridal shop in Wexford, PA has been an absolute nightmare. After finding my dream dress there, we were required to pay 80% upfront. After they had my money it was all downhill from there. First, they promised me 10% off my bridesmaid dresses if I ordered them from there since I got my wedding dress there. It sounded like a good deal so I ordered 5 different style bridesmaid dresses (same brand). As my bridesmaids were putting in their orders, OEE said no you cannot have 10% off since they are different styles and would require separate shipping. I immediately spoke to the manager, Donna, and told her that I was not aware of this stipulation and would like to cancel the dress orders and order them elsewhere. Donna quickly changed her mind and said we could have the 10% off. My bridesmaids continued to have difficulty getting the 10%. I had my fianc? call in to straighten things our again with Donna. It was finally resolved after 2 weeks. Each bridesmaid was required to put 60% down. Before the bridesmaid dresses were officially ordered, Donna called me and we went over the orders again. 3 dresses in tea length 2 dresses in full length. I stressed the different lengths but I did notice she didn?t seem concerned with the lengths. Pros: None! Cons: The manager, the owner, the customer service more
