The NYKB team did a fantastic job at re-modelling my downstairs bathroom. They used the small space to its full potential and finished just within the dead line.

I very strongly do not recommended NYKB for any home project. We hired them Sept. 2018 for a major kitchen, bath and additional renovation in our new pre war apartment. They are...

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/12/2014

My husband and I own two conjoined Co-op apartments in a high-rise apartment building of approximately 400 units, in Greenwich Village, in New York City. We recently decided to renovate a bathroom, in one of the apartments and hired NYKB (New York Kitchen & Bathroom Corp, 8 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10010), for the project. The bathroom, although small, posed many challenges regarding the plumbing and electrical work due to its location, very near the front door of the second apartment space, as well as its odd, asymmetrical, antiquated walls and problematic plumbing and electrical connections. We had put off the renovation for years, but, at last, decided to go ahead in early December 2013. The project took approximately 22 work days, not counting weekends or Christmas Week (Christmas Day to New Year's Day), to complete, and we are absolutely thrilled with the aesthetically beautiful result which far exceeded our expectations.\r \r Apart from the gorgeous result that we now have, where once an eyesore existed, there were two things that readily impressed us about this company: First, they were conscientious and considerate from the first day of demolition, and not only with regard to the project site and us, but with regard, also, to the building management's requirements, that of the staff, and our fellow tenants. (Positive feedback, on our floor, from fellow tenant shareholders made its way back to us, throughout the entire work period, and particularly around Christmas when many people were at home with their families in advance of the holiday week.). As anyone living in a co-op or condo in New York City knows, full well, working in sync with the building management's requirements can be critical to the successful completion of an apartment renovation, so we were relieved of any worries or added stress in that department. Second, NYKB treated this small bathroom project with the care and attention to detail that we would expect might be accorded to a major home renovation. Every work day, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the lead contractor and/or the project designer (in addition to the workmen and sub-contractors) were on the scene to supervise work and check the progress of the project, after which we would receive a daily in person or e-mail report from the project designer on how much progress was made and on what remained. \r \r We wholeheartedly express our thanks to NYKB for this truly beautiful result--for our designer Roberta's impeccable taste, expertise and meticulous attention to every detail; our lead contractor Ilan's counsel, advice, and exacting professionalism in overseeing all phases, perfectly, to completion (while overseeing his electrical and plumbing contractors); to Perry for his knowledge, guidance and foresight in planning the project, at large (along with his vigilant team: Mia, Flora, Moshe, Gabby, et al.), and to the artisan, Luis, who astonished us with his talent and craft in precision-cutting tiny mosaic tiles, and installing their intricate patterns to reflect the theme of an existing painted door mural. To all at NYKB.... Bravo!! \r \r MTI and DAI,\r Greenwich Village, NYC more

We used NYKB to renovate a kitchen in a condo apartment on Riverside Blvd. We replaced all cabinets, appliances, counters and backsplashes. We also had the passthrough wall rebuilt.\r The design, planning and implementation phases all went well and on schedule. \r The lead Cabinet Installer, Boaz, did all the installation and construction work. He and his assistant, Nigel, did a fantastic job. Boaz did some things we needed beyond the scope of the project. His work was highly skilled. He is a perfectionist and a pleasure to work with. \r A different team did the Template and installation of the Quartz countertops and backsplashes. They also did a wonderful job.\r We enjoyed working with Perry Hiiman. We did have one disagreement on the estimate for the Quartz. We settled it quickly in an equitable way. \r If you are organized and decisive, working with NYKB will be a good experience. \r My wife and I would recommend using them for your renovations. \r Joel & Lauren more

Fantastic work, watch out for the mess 11/25/2013

The construction team for NYKB are solid workers who worked long and hard to reach the deadline. During the job, which took a couple of weeks, they left an indescribable mess...but...HAVE NO FEAR!!! By the time they left the house was spanking and the bathroom construction was worth the three week hassle. more

After living in my city apartment for 10 years it was outdated and needed a whole new look. I contacted quite a few companies and got quotes. I noticed that once I mentioned my budget they lost interest! Some of the others could only do flooring or bathrooms not the whole thing.\r The team at NYKB were fantastic. They listened to everything that I wanted and worked with me on my to get my dream space. My apartment has been completely converted and it is like living in a totally new home and I love coming back here after a hard day at work. I cannot praise NYKB highly enough.\r One of the best things that I found was that the quote that I got from them at the start was what I ended up paying so there were no nasty surprises which was great. If anyone is planning on have any renovation work done they need to go to these guys, they are the best. more

When I was remodeling my kitchen I had searched everywhere. I found a lot of places that ripped people off and didn’t really offer much of a selection. Then, I found a great place I had never heard of; New York Kitchen & Bath Design and Remodeling. I have never had such a great experience with any company in my entire life. They were quick to schedule an appointment to come over, they were very friendly and professional at the same time, and every question I asked they had an answer for. When I first called I was a little worried that it would be months before they came which isn’t true. They were at my house the next day. They were very kind and very friendly. I never had to worry about them being rude because they had a smile on their faces the whole time. The best part was every question I needed answered they answered it! This is a great company! more

DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE. Total scam artists. The amount of money they quoted us turned out to be almost triple. It is almost a year and half and they never finished the job and now we are having to go back and REDO the work they did do. The quality of work is awful. The customer service is even worse, if that is at all possible. Stay far far away from these people....you will be sorry. more

Fantastic Kitchen Remodel 9/17/2013

My husband and I recently purchased a home that was wonderful, but the kitchen was rather out of date. After a significant amount of researching various contractors, we decided to choose New York Kitchen and Bath (NYKB) and we could not be happier with our decision! We feel so lucky to have found them to remodel our kitchen.\r \r The staff at NYKB were very responsive to all of questions and even provided us with several suggestions on what would look best for our home based on what was popular in current home design. They were extremely knowledgable and walked us through the entire process before starting on the project. Most importantly for us, the price the quoted us on our job was very reasonable in comparison to other estimates we received.\r \r Plus, our kitchen looks great! We wanted something very modern and NYKB delivered just that. I absolutely love cooking and entertaining in my new kitchen. The finished project looks just as good as any advertised on the NYKB website. I would d more

We desperately needed to revamp our small bathroom but who can you possibly trust to do the job right these days? I started reading about contractors and then scheduled a time for NYKB to come out, look at the bathroom and prepare an estimate. Best decision I have made in a very long time.\r After checking out the situation the NYKB employee told us exactly what this renovation project would cost, and how long it would take to complete the work. We wanted new fixtures and the floor had to be replaced as well. In for a penny, in for a dime. The total cost was lower than we had anticipated and this was definitely good news since we did have to stay within our budget.\r The contracting crew showed up right on time and every employee was professional and courteous. We tried to stay out of the way as much as possible but curiosity would get the better of us at times. Even when we were peering around the corner to watch them work NYKB remained focused on our home improvement project and concentrated on finishing the work. Good on them!\r We now have a modern bathroom that we love, and that new tile floor is an added luxury that we enjoy. The work that NYKB did is sheer perfection. This is my big shout out to a wonderful group of builders and contractors.Thank you! more

Untrustworthy. I recommend avoiding NYKB. They need to be monitored very carefully to make sure that they are complying with your plans, not causing problems with your building and showing up to work. The key terms in my original contract - price and schedule for completion - were way, way, way off the reality. Once your kitchen or bathroom is gutted and you have made several installment payments, they come up with additional costs and you have no leverage to object. Many people I spoke with after hiring them had terrible experiences (just ask your building's super and management company). They are not trustworthy. more

Run for the hills. Perry (the owner) and his staff will promise the world and deliver deplorable service, sub-standard ethics and a shoddy work product. They violate lien laws and don't protect deposits with escrow or bond--demo, scope changes and shake downs for thousands and thousands. Perry is a crook. Really. Worst experience of my life. And should I mention all the extra costs they hide in fine print which they know you will have to incur. But wait, they don't tell you any of this until you sign on the dotted line. Look up New York Wood Floors or Metropolitan Wood Floors and Perry Hiiman on e-courts. And call the Department of Consumer Affairs. They are VERY familiar with PH. If you go ahead and use them, I can assure you, you'll regret it. more

"We recently renovated our two bathrooms and walked away very happy with both service and quality that NYKB provided. I must say that renovations are never easy breezy, requiring your time, patience and flexibility. That's why it was so important to us to be working with the right team. It all started with high quality designer Meirav, who spent 20-30 hours with us working on both design and picking the actual materials. She was always available after our initial few meetings as we came up changes to our plans. It was invaluable to have the designer's perspective to make sure everything fits together, both size wise and stylistically.\r Once the project started NYKB assigned a project manager who would visit our apartment almost everyday to ensure the project was done properly. One Stop Shop For Home Renovation"", that is what convinced me to employ NYKB to renovate the kitchen in my Upper East Side home. Within 15 minutes of entering NYKB's showroom and speaking with their designer, I was convinced that NYKB was the way to go with my kitchen renovation. It was a process that began with a design presentation.\r Upon choosing the design, I liked best, we moved on to purchase fixtures. Permits needed to be obtained as well as submitting the proper paperwork to my building. Demolition began and finally the installation of my new custom designed kitchen and counter top was complete. The process was not perfect, but Perry Hiiman and his team of designers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and expediters lived up to every challenge and fulfilled all my expectations to complete my new kitchen. To add to our satisfaction, I called Perry personally after four years from the time of the completed kitchen renovation to repair a broken hinge on one of the cabinet doors and Perry responded within one day! Thank you Perry & NYKB Staff!"" \r \r more

Very Satisfied! 6/4/2013

We really couldn't afford to rip out our bathroom and start all over but we had to do something because my wife and I were literally tripping over each other and didn't have enough room for the basics. NYKB worked miracles by redesigning the entire room. We were still able to use most of the fixtures so it didn't cost an arm or a leg but the difference is incredible. New York Kitchen & Bath knew just what to do to make the most of what we had and with their added touches, it feels like a new room. more

NYKB installed a shower enclosure for my son in 2007. When I visited him, I noticed that the water was somehow getting out and puddling on the floor. So I called NYKB to ask if I could purchase another silicone for the door, thinking that the water was coming through the gap between the strip and the door. Mia, who was very agreeable, looked up my son's original contract and said she would look into my request and get back to me. She called me later in the day and offered to send a representative to my son's apartment to look at the stripping and fix the problem, at no charge. She even asked me when i would like the rep to come. Mia emailed me later in the day that the rep would come the very next day. The rep came as promised and inspected the silicone strips, diagnosed the problem, and suggested a solution. He then replaced the strip on the bottom of the door with a new improved design strip and sealed it with silicone as well as replacing the silicone seal on another part of the enclosure. After allowing the silicone to dry, as instructed, I took a shower and was delighted to find the problem 99% solved. I say 99% only because the slope and shape of the top of the tub wall does not allow water to flow inward and into the tub. So, to keep the water that has puddled on the top of the tub wall from falling onto the floor, when I open the door after a shower, I quickly scoop the water into the tub. I am very happy with the solution that NYKB implemented and am impressed with their customer satisfaction commitment even though they installed the enclosure 6 years ago. I should also say that the enclosure itself including the door hinges are all still in excellent shape."" more

Fantastic work 1/29/2013

I can't say enough about Perry and his crews as they managed to not only get the whole job done in time for my guests arrival, but did a great job including working around a hidden surprise in the walls while removing bathroom fixtures. They not only arrived on time, but went the extra mile giving the job a real personal touch. Perry called me on a couple of occasions to check on how things were going and he and Barbara managed to get a plumber here to replace the broken valve within a few hours of them discovering the problem. They cleaned up before they left each time and I really couldn't tell that anyone had been here working at all. \r I would definitely use NYKB again and will recommend them to my friends and coworkers. more

I had a couple of quotes from some other kitchen designers but I liked the fact that NYKB take on the whole headache themselves. It was worth every penny! It is really the kitchen of my dreams - thanks NYKB! more
