The NYKB team did a fantastic job at re-modelling my downstairs bathroom. They used the small space to its full potential and finished just within the dead line.

Worst

I very strongly do not recommended NYKB for any home project. We hired them Sept. 2018 for a major kitchen, bath and additional renovation in our new pre war apartment. They are...

Awesome showroom 3/15/2011

I haven't used NYKB yet, but their showroom is awesome. So much hate for them though...damn. Sorry you guys had a bad experience. The people I spoke with so far at the store seem to know their stuff. I'll say I've been warned, but I think anyone who doesn't do their research and ask the right questions and get the right contracts in place before remodeling should be warned. more

Very Responsive 3/8/2011

We recently contracted NYKB to renovate our 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath coop in New York City. This was a complete gut renovation, including wall repair, new hardwood flooring, all new kitchen and both bathrooms. NYKB handled everything for us, from initial design work all the way through completion of the project. Very importantly, they worked well with our coop and managing company to make sure all work was done properly and received all appropriate approvals. The results were fantastic, and everyone that comes to our new apartment cannot stop complimenting us on the renovation. In terms of service, NYKB was very responsive to our needs regarding follow up work and timelines. This was a very big project, and NYKB met every challenge. Most importantly, the final product speaks for itself. The quality of work was outstanding. more

It was a pleasure to work with them 1/26/2011

They worked quickly, thoroughly and efficiently. They were more than willing to work late to stay on schedule. They were always courteous and it was easy to communicate with them in the sense that they listened to my questions and suggestions, and promptly came up with ideas and solutions more

Thank you to everyone. I am soo happy! :) 1/20/2011

My wife and I now settled into our completely renovated apartment and we are just delighted with how it all turned out. I want to complement your whole organization for a difficult job well done. In a pre-war classic six co-op that is now 80 years old, renovating the kitchen, three bathrooms and turning the maid’s room into my office required a coordinated effort by the whole team…. Thanks again to everyone, it was a fun journey working together and I look forward to doing it again someday when the need arises. more

Could't ask for more. They were great 1/11/2011

I want to express my thanks for a job well done on my new kitchen. You were immensely knowledgeable with regard to the design and implementation of the project and I am very satisfied with the result. Your installers were very professional in their area of expertise and always left the apartment in a clean and orderly fashion.. more

Everything looks so amazing. What a transformation! 1/6/2011

We’d like to thank you for all you have done to make our bathroom so beautiful. We started with 50+ year old tiles and fixtures and now have a clean and fresh look. We will enjoy it for years to come! more

The office staff was also extremely responsive to our needs 12/30/2010

We recently had a major renovation of our kitchen and bathroom in our New York condo performed by NYKB. The completed job was performed with quality workmanship and superior fit and finish. The project supervisor was extremely professional and curteous, and tried to keep us up to date with any issues or unanticipated delays. more

You made my life so much easier 12/22/2010

Thank you all for getting me through the difficult job of remodeling my kitchen. Your people have taken a small galley studio kitchen and transformed it into one that is truly beautiful and functional. Your consultants were there for me every step of the way. Using their expertise to help me in my choice of colors and styles of cabinets…..What your people have done in this small space is nothing short of magic. I want to thank you for your honesty and professionalism. My co-op is very strict on construction and they were very impressed with your work. My building super has asked me for before and after photos so he might show other people in the building what is possible to do in similar spaces.I want to thank you all at NYKB for making me the most beautiful kitchen I’ve ever owned more

A job well done! 12/16/2010

I just wanted to drop you a note of appreciation for the fine job that you and your team did with refurbishing the kitchen and bathrooms in my home. From the day that my wife and I met you, you were meticulous in insuring that we had just the right tiles, backsplash and other materials that would give us the results that we desired. You made every arrangcment right down to the permits and insurance that was needed in order to make the job happen. You took the time to prepare everything to specification and delivered the finished product in a very timely fashion. From your office manager Hamit, to your field manager Frank, and the two men who actually completed the job, everyone was attentive to our concerns and needs, and made the process go as smoothly as possible.I must also add that your attention to detail and follow-up as well as you staying in constant touch with me and the job at hand was much appreciated, and most gratifying. I would not hesitate to call upon you again to do another job for me, nor would I hesitate for a minnte to recommend you and your company to any friend, family or colleague that is considering having any type of work done in their kitchen or bathrooms. It was a pleasure doing business with you and your company, and once again, I want to say thank you for a job well done more

TERRIBLE 12/15/2010

These guys are the worst. All they want is your money bottom line.....Just when they cash your first check there looking for another check. The designers are so inexperience and one is dumber then the next. If your value your money please please dont use NYKB. Do your homework on them the bad reviews speak for themselves. \r more

Untrustworthy 10/26/2010

I recommend avoiding NYKB. They need to be monitored very carefully to make sure that they are complying with your plans, not causing problems with your building and showing up to work. The key terms in my original contract - price and schedule for completion - were way, way, way off the reality. Once your kitchen or bathroom is gutted and you have made several installment payments, they come up with additional costs and you have no leverage to object. Many people I spoke with after hiring them had terrible experiences (just ask your building's super and management company). They are not trustworthy. more

A Complete Scam 10/21/2010

I had my kitchen done a year ago and had a horrible experience. I was so traumatised by it that I didn't even have the energy to write the review then. Now...a year later, I've discovered more problems with their work...(1) They never took off the protective plastic from the innards of the oven hood. I never knew and only just found out when I had some other contractors looking at issues in my kitchen. MAJOR fire hazard. (2) They incorrectly installed my under-cabinet lighting creating a second MAJOR fire hazard. So...what did they do a year ago that caused such angst? Let me count the ways: (a) Sloppy work area ultimately resulting in me having to re-do my wood floors (b) Despite complaints about Frank the head contractor (and COO), they still wouldn't replace him and kept bringing him back (c) Had to reinstall cabinetry 3 times because the workers damaged them 3 times (d) Had to re-install the counter top because they installed the wrong one. (e) crooked cabinet installation in multiple places that had to be fixed (f) damaged the existing dishwasher which then had to be fixed (g) scratched the brand new oven (h) put the island in the wrong place and had to move it (i) very poor follow-through when issues arose. Had to keep at them every single moment (j) over 2 months of construction for a 10x10 kitchen! Was there any positive? OK...yes. My kitchen looks great and the designer, Mairav deserves the credit for design. Perry, the owner, did get things rectified when he was involved directly in the process. Unfortunately, he kept putting trust in his workers, including Frank, who all just stunk. more

NYKB: Approach with caution 10/20/2010

I went to the very glitsy NYKB showroom for remodelling of my very small coop bathroom. Next week a NYKB designer came to apartment, asked my preferences, photographed my bathroom and another bathroom I had renovated to understand my style. I communicated very specific preferences regarding style, tile color and type, a soaking tub, etc. He claimed he would produce three designs to choose from and charged $2500. He called me back to showroom but had nothing to show at all - no designs, no suggestions, nothing! He could not remember my preferences or my bathroom, did not have the photo's, and told me I could go to an associated hardware store to pick components for the bathroom. He asked me to sign a standard contract for labor only to install tiles, comode, sink, etc for $19,875. plus $3850. for plumbing and $2685 for electric for my tiny bathroom. I would need to find the appropriate tiles, fixtures, etc and pay for them. I left the showroom in aneffort to cut my losses and 30 minutes later received a telephone message stating that they now had designs for me to see and that the prices could be discussed. My loss: $2500. for the non-existent designs. I suggest that prospective clients question the excellent reviews they read about NYKB. They should approach NYKB with extreme caution and pay them nothing until they produce specific designs and the price quote and speak with real references. more

I'm happy with their work 7/30/2009

I MUST SAY Through the phase of design after I hired NYKB, I discovered the building required an additional upgrade of plumbing. Since NYKB informed me in advance, I was prepared for the extra expense. I'm happy with the work they did in my bathroom and in the future I might think about renovating my kitchen as well. Pros: Full service Cons: Additional upgrade required more

Find what I was looking for! 7/17/2009

My bathroom isn’t a standard NYC bathroom. I’ve spent a lot of time looking for the custom doors with the right measurements. I went to NYKB and got help from one of their designers who immediately was capable of finding what I was looking for. They handled me very professionally. The designer came to my apartment and took precise measurements. I described what I wanted, and NYKB delivered. \r After receiving my merchandise and after about 5 months I had a problem with one of the hinges. I called NYKB to consult with them on how to solve this problem. The day after, someone came to my home to evaluate the problem. The following week they already came to install the broken hinge with no additional charge. Today I’m very happy with my custom glass doors, while I’m considering redoing my 2nd bathroom, I would definitely consider hiring NYKB to do the project. \r more

servise plus 7/10/2009

I turned to NYKB as a full service provider company. As a mother of 2 whom works a full time job, I find it very helpful to have someone take care of the process. NYKB took responsibility of everything, leading to the renovation of my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They contacted the management company and ordered the materials. This allowed me to focus on other aspects of my life and not to worry about the construction. more

Prime location 5/1/2009

Their website is beautiful. The showroom is beautiful. The salemanship is smooth..\r \r NYKB is extremely expensive. The 'scopes' -additional work (and there will be quite a few) are exhorbitant and the quality of work lacks the finesse of such a expensive project. Materials used are definitely not quality. \r \r Please be aware:\r The way to choose a contractor is through trusted associates. See the actual work of at least 4 renovations.of each contractor. Become your own contractor. and then you will be pleased. \r Pros: Beautiful show room Cons: Everything else more
