terrible terrible terrible. they seem nice enough before they've got your name on the dotted line, but don't be fooled. I ended up getting my stuff over a month late, and that was only after I hired an attorney to go after them. Their customer service department only exists to deflect calls away from anyone who can actually find out where your stuff has got to. and when my stuff finally did arrive there was boxes missing and furniture broken. worst move of my life, by a considerable margin. more

They will hold YOUR belongings HOSTAGE! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. When you call Nationwide they make it seem like they are a professional company, when giving your quote and taking your money. My move took place on 8/29/2012. My belongings were due in Pennsylvania on 9/12/2012. When the movers were loading my items they guaranteed me that my things did not exceed the 5,600 lbs. that my move was quoted. On 9/5, I received a phone call from a Jessica at Colonial Van Lines telling me that my load exceeded 7,500 lbs. and I now owed an additional $2,600 in addition to the $3,000 I had already paid. I was told that my things were in Houston and not Dallas, where I was told on the day the truck left my home it was going to. I was contacted on 9/7 by Nationwide and told that the moving truck would deliver on 9/11-9/12 and that I could meet the moving truck to weigh before and after the items were unloaded. On Monday 9//10 I called to confirm delivery and was told it would be Wednesday or Thursday 9/12-9/13 on Thursday monring I called to see where the truck was and when it would be delivered to be told that it had not even left Houston. I called Jessica at Colonial and was told her boss Jesus Salazar was moving warehouses and my things were being moved. My husband got ahold of Jesus and Nationwide and was told a moving truck would not be leaving Houston until Sunday or Monday 9//16-9/17. On Monday, I called Nationwide again to see where the truck was and was told my belongings were still in Houston and Nationwide was no longer working with Colonial Van Lines. It is now Wednesday 9/19 and my belongings were due on 9/12/12. My things are still in Houston where they ""tell me"" they are secure at their ""terminal"". I have talked to numerous superviors and customer service and have been told I would be called back to let me know when my things would be arriving. I have yet to have an estimated arrival date and no one will tell me where my things are being held in Houston, Texas. I am told I will receive phone calls back and no one will answer the question as to when my things will arrive and where they are. I hired this company to move my things. THERE ONLY JOB IS TO FIND A TRUCK TO MOVE MY THINGS and they can and wont do this. After they have your things, then they tell you they can not tell you where your belongings are. They also say it is company policy not to release the owners name or info. My child is without a bed, her clothes, dishes for me to make meals, and they do not seem to think this is a problem. When you take someone's belongings with a guarantee to return them within a certain amount of days and you dont - this is called stealing. This is not right. This is a fraudulent company. I just pray I get my whole entire house back. more

My main concern was finding a company that could work with my budget. My pastor told me that he used this company when his daughter went to college and it was super cheap. Even though I am long past my college years, I was hopeful that they could help me move into my new home for cheap. Now I am 2 weeks into my new start here in Tulsa and I have no major regrets. Yeah, there were some frustrations along the way, but at the end of the day all of my furniture was delivered in mint condition. If the customer service team would be a bit more friendly and attentive, I would've given them 5 stars. more

When I hired Nationwide Relocation 6/12/2012

When I hired Nationwide Relocation Services, I noticed that things were moving too slowly. One day they said that they would call back with updates within an hour, and I didn't hear back from them until the next day. At that point, I decided I was going to be a pest. I kept calling until I got the answers I wanted. On delivery day, I reminded them of the importance of being on time. The movers were excellent and handled everything perfectly. If you want a smooth move, be present and let your desires be known. more

TERRIBLE!! Don't waste your money. This company was a pain to work with. I was passed from person to person when I called. Damaged furniture, the mover didn't show up on the designated date, and the mover showed up by HIMSELF to pick up and deliver, it took him all day to move a 1 bedroom apartment. When I contacted customer service, the said they could compensate me $30 after we just spent close to $3,000! It was an insult! To boot the customer service rep did not return my calls for 1 week, I had to call and speak with someone else after leaving him like 5 MESSAGES! more

DO NOT USE!! 5/22/2012

This is the worst company in the world!! I contacted them a month and a half in advance for my reservation. I was assured by the salesman that the movers would come on the 27th of April. They didn't show up. No one picks up on their customer service line. I tried calling all day, and was finally told that they would be there between 8-12 on the 28th. The movers didn't show up till 6pm. Fast forward to today, almost a month later, still haven't got my furniture delivered. They still won't give me a delivery date. They don't answer calls. I'm really afraid they just stole my stuff. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!! more

WORST EXPERIENCE, HORRIBLE COMPANY! 5/10/2012

We contracted with this company to move our household items from Dayton, Ohio to Tampa, Florida on Friday, March 9th. In the original estimate my husband told the estimator, Joseph Amato we were closer to 10, 000lbs, but were told by him that in order to keep our deposit low we should go with 7, 000 lbs and if we went over the weight it wasn't a problem and that we would pay the difference. Well, truck shows up (a day later than what was promised to us & no notification was given to us of the date change until the NIGHT before they showed up) & there is not enough room on the truck for all of our items?!! The movers also did not show up with the items we contracted for (mattress covers) & only 2 men showed up for our 3, 500 sq ft home?! It took them over 13 hours and the help from my Dad to disassemble our furniture and carry down the stairs as surely our furniture would have been damaged/broken with only one man carrying it down the flight of stairs. We were told by the driver that the company would not be sending another truck to pick up the remaining items as they had no obligatioin to do so since they picked up more weight than was on estimate?! We knew it was going to be more than on estimate, but was swayed to keep it low and not to worry about it! We had to scramble the next day & rent a U-haul (more costs to us), get a storage unit (again more costs to us) and fill up my parents & sister's garages with our leftover items. Once the truck arrives at our home in Florida we discover that dozens of our items (some brand new, some heirloom pieces) are badly damaged/broken or ruined. I called ""customer service"" and they told me to write a letter describing our problems. I did this & never received a call or email back. After numerous calls into AVL asking to speak to a supervisor the only compensation made was that they would waive the deposit for our next order?? When I call back to discuss picking up our remaining items stuck in Ohio I am asked if I have anything in writing saying that they would waive the deposit?? It took over a month of calling Joseph Amato, supervisors, customer service to even get a new written quote stating the deposit would be waived. We finally gave up & went with another company. They wanted to charge us all of the fees again as if it was a brand new order. One of their fees is something they call a 'binding estimate fee' which I have been told by Sam, Aramid, Joseph Amato & Matthew all different explanations of what this fee is- all of which are bogus. We still have yet to hear anything back on what the status is of our damaged items and receiving a claim check for those items. This move cost us double what it should have & the company no concern for our problems, resolving our issues or wanting our business. I would hate for anyone else to experience what we have with this company as it has been the most stressful, horrific, frustrating & costly experience. Please people, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They seem very nice on the phone, but that is it. After they have your money forget about anything they promised you & expect headache after headache & if you even get your furniture at all- consider yourself lucky! more

Not As Bad As People Say 4/18/2012

I admit that I only called this company because I was running out of time and it was the first one I saw online. But I got lucky man. I needed to move from my studio apartment to the dorms so I didn't really have too much to move. But they were friendly and none of my things were ruined. If you are looking for college movers who can get your stuff across the country quick, they can help. more
