They will hold YOUR belongings HOSTAGE! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. When you call Nationwide they make it seem like they are a professional company, when giving your quote and taking your money. My move took place on 8/29/2012. My belongings were due in Pennsylvania on 9/12/2012. When the movers were loading my items they guaranteed me that my things did not exceed the 5,600 lbs. that my move was quoted. On 9/5, I received a phone call from a Jessica at Colonial Van Lines telling me that my load exceeded 7,500 lbs. and I now owed an additional $2,600 in addition to the $3,000 I had already paid. I was told that my things were in Houston and not Dallas, where I was told on the day the truck left my home it was going to. I was contacted on 9/7 by Nationwide and told that the moving truck would deliver on 9/11-9/12 and that I could meet the moving truck to weigh before and after the items were unloaded. On Monday 9//10 I called to confirm delivery and was told it would be Wednesday or Thursday 9/12-9/13 on Thursday monring I called to see where the truck was and when it would be delivered to be told that it had not even left Houston. I called Jessica at Colonial and was told her boss Jesus Salazar was moving warehouses and my things were being moved. My husband got ahold of Jesus and Nationwide and was told a moving truck would not be leaving Houston until Sunday or Monday 9//16-9/17. On Monday, I called Nationwide again to see where the truck was and was told my belongings were still in Houston and Nationwide was no longer working with Colonial Van Lines. It is now Wednesday 9/19 and my belongings were due on 9/12/12. My things are still in Houston where they ""tell me"" they are secure at their ""terminal"". I have talked to numerous superviors and customer service and have been told I would be called back to let me know when my things would be arriving. I have yet to have an estimated arrival date and no one will tell me where my things are being held in Houston, Texas. I am told I will receive phone calls back and no one will answer the question as to when my things will arrive and where they are. I hired this company to move my things. THERE ONLY JOB IS TO FIND A TRUCK TO MOVE MY THINGS and they can and wont do this. After they have your things, then they tell you they can not tell you where your belongings are. They also say it is company policy not to release the owners name or info. My child is without a bed, her clothes, dishes for me to make meals, and they do not seem to think this is a problem. When you take someone's belongings with a guarantee to return them within a certain amount of days and you dont - this is called stealing. This is not right. This is a fraudulent company. I just pray I get my whole entire house back.
