Could have been a rough move but it was really good 2/15/2012

I moved from an area with lots of traffic (NYC) to a woodsy area in the middle of nowhere. I had an overall great experience with Nationwide and they showed up when they said they would to my NYC townhouse despite the traffic . The movers were professional, polite and worked quickly. I noticed they put mats down on my floors and on the stairwell to prevent anything from being scuffed and I was very impressed with that. \r \r My new place is on a hilly road and I was definitely worried about one of two things happening: 1-that my stuff would get scratched from all the bumps in the road from the truck 2-that the truck wouldn’t even be able to make it to my house. It was all good though. These guys are professionals. A really good experience. more

Lots of Training 2/13/2012

These guys must get a ton of training. I don?t know, but they knew exactly how to get my baby grand down three flights of stairs in my condo without a scracth on it. It was also raining and they laid down this plastic thing so that they didn?t get any footprints in my home. I told them it was fine because I have tile everywhere anyway, but they insisted on putting the plastic down everywhere they went with my stuff. more

LIARS, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT MOVERS 12/16/2011

I wish I knew about this site before I contracted with and paid money to this moving company. I feel so abused and misused. I am moving from Michigan to Texas and contacted 10 companies. I entered into a signed agreement on 12/8 and my pick up date to make the 1252 mile move was today or tomorrow. I have gotten called by a very ghetto dispatcher asking me could my move be changed to 12/18. She called on the 15th. When I asked would that mess with my delivery date she checked with the driver and they said yes, it would be delayed 3 days. I said no beause I have to start a job and couldn't chance it. she said ok, now they are telling me that they have no body to pick me up all weekend. WTF. The poor customer service representatives just apologize like I;m sorry is helping my inconvenience or being out of money. I feel like I am being held hostage and I can't call anyone else because I don't have money to pay them a deposit. I am praying that they find someone to pick me up tomorrow or I am launching an all out media and consumer war on them. more

LITERALLY, the worst company that exists in the US 10/27/2011

It's so hard to describe the absolutely terrible experience I had with this $hitty company without turning red with stressful hatred. Let's begin with one simple fact: Moving companies like Nationwide are supposed to make your move less stressful... can we agree on that intention? Let me describe to you the absolute absurdity that was my experience with this scam job of a company, and try to absorb the amount of stress that they caused throughout the moving process. My initial contact with them was fine. I got on the phone with Pam Ling a couple weeks in advance of my move and she gave me the price, provided the moving documents for me to sign (7 signatures required), and we were off. I paid my $1000+ deposit, and things started swimmingly. Jump ahead to 2 days before the ""pickup window"". I get a call from some incredibly disrespectful hoodrat in dispatch. She asks me if I can move my pickup window to the 29th/30th. I live in an apartment, lady - I need at least 1 day to clean it out or I lose my deposit. No, my pickup window needs to remain the 27th/28th as is noted in our SIGNED CONTRACT. The next day, 10/26.. Some assclown calls me once again asking if I can move my pickup window to the 29th/30th. I hint at being able to consider the 29th because I really don't want to have to deal with another company in trying to move 2000 miles. I have to be out of my apartment on the 30th. I tell him that I'm going to be pissed if I have to move out on the 29th instead of my moving window according to the signed contract and I will begin looking for alternatives to Nationwide scamjobs, inc. He tells me he'll call me back in 10 minutes to let me know what he finds out. He didn't call me back. That's strike 2 in the ""screw you lottery"" that they seem to be playing. The first day of my moving window, 10/27 arrives. I call my moving consultant who I've not heard from since I signed 7 times. She tells me that she doesn't have a status update on my move and that she'll look into it and call me back in 15 minutes. 2 hours later, 4 calls to her, 1 voicemail, and 1 email later, I decide to call their customer service department. I feel sorry for the person I'm about to scream at, but these people bring it upon themselves. She tells me that no moving truck has been assigned to my move. I tell her that this is the first day of my 2-day moving window. She's been through this before, and calms the situation but offers no comfort for myself. Soon after, I get a call from the assclown dispatcher of 10/26. He tells me that 10/29 is no longer an option and that the only way I'm getting a truck before 11/1 (2 days after I'm required to leave my apartment) is if someone cancels. He also lets me know that if I call on the 29th - a day before I get kicked out of my current apartment - that I can call them and get my $1000+ deposit back. Great, so now I have to wait until you don't show up and then find another way to move my $hit with NEGATIVE ONE days notice. Fast forward to a couple hours after assclown dispatcher. I call U-Haul and they bend over backwards to get me a truck and a trailer to tow my car for $1000 less than nationwide. Here we sit, ready to go pick up a moving truck after nationwide completely abandoned us. I now have complete control of my move - I can be packed when I want, I can load the truck when I want, and I'm going to get my stuff in my new apartment when I show up to my new apartment instead of waiting a week with Nationwide Screwing Company. Anyone reading this, I implore you to skip nationwide relocation services. They are a dishonest pile of BS that has no business existing. There are hundreds and hundreds of reviews out there and you should listen to every word of them because they're ALL true, despite what hoodrat #1 or jersey shore #2 dispatcher tells you. Do not go through the stress of dealing with this scambag outfit because all you'll be doing is making your move miserable. more

DOT NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! 10/13/2011

I engaged Nationwide (NW) to move me from MO to TX. I was assigned a personal consultant who would "" be with me every step of the way."" He was fired soon after my contract was signed and I was not assigned another consultant. I must say he was the most pleasant person I encountered in the company....probably fired for being too nice. The week of my scheduled move I called to inquire about the movers contacting me to notify of arrival time ect. I was informed that I would be contacted two days prior to the move with all of this information. This did not occur. I called them the day prior to my move and was informed that they were still looking for movers to move me. I was assured that I would be moved within my time frame; I provided a two day window per their request.. I asked when someone was going to notify me of this situation. I could not get a adequate reply. The customer service reps are rude - I was hung up on several times. On rep kept sighing in my ear, like I was stopping her from doing more important things. The day of my scheduled move I was told that I was now a ""priority"" in them finding a mover for me. Really? I again had to initiate all calls to them. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor. I spoke with Brenda who was also rude and hung up on me. I now see where the customer service reps get their customer service techniques. They never did find a mover for me. I rented a truck and moved myself. I was not shown any consideration or compassion for this lack of service. I was offered ""compensation"" if I was willing to wait for them to find a mover, but no time frame could be given. I am still in the process of trying to get a refund. I was originally told it would take 3-5business days for the refund to show on my debit card. Needless to say I am well past this time frame. I have called again and was told it will really be 3-5 business days this time as the accounting department has now completed the paper work. This has been my experience with NW. If I can help another avoid using this woefully mismanaged company, all the better. You have been warned. more

Worst none moving experience I've ever had, 9/13/2011

I engaged NationWide (NW) to move me from CA to TX. I originally engaged another company who actually did a walk-through of my house before giving me a move quote but when I talked to NW they said they could beat the price. I provided NW with the list of items I planned to move and the weights. I gave them all the information from the other moving company & based on the information they quoted me a better price. I signed NW's contract on a Thurs and charged the required deposit. My move was scheduled for the following Mon. \r When the actual moving company called me to confirm the move on Friday, I asked them when they were going to send someone out to crate my glass tables/ mirror. They said crating was not in my quoted price & I had to pay for the crating. When I gave NW the details from the other moving company I told them my quote included the creating of my mirror & tables.\r I couldn't get in touch with Nationwide until Sat. because of time zone differences. When I called Nationwide to tell them what the moving company said the Nationwide Rep told me that my items did not need to be created. The items could be wrapped with heavy moving paper and they would be fine. I told the Cust. Rep. that I had specifically asked about the creating of my items and I was told they would be created. NW Cust Service said they would call the moving company to see what they could work out but since it was the weekend they could not get in touch with the movers until Mon. They said I should go ahead with the move and we could work out the details on Mon. I was not comfortable with this arrangement; therefore, I told them I was cancelling the move. I immediately sent them an email confirming the cancel. \r On Monday at 6:30 am they sent a moving truck to my house to move me but I refused the move. I called the original moving company and paid them more to move me. The other company (Atlas Moving) did exactly what they committed to doing, at the price they committed and did not charge an upfront deposit. My items were delivered on time in good shape and I paid for the entire more when the items arrived in TX. \r Even though Nationwide did not move me they refused to refund my $2300 deposit they required. They said I signed their contract and I did not give them the required 48 hours more

Long Distance Move with NRS 8/30/2011

NationWide Relocation Services made my move this past week. It wasn;t until now that I finished unpacking and fixing everything around the house. I shuld have added that service to my quote and I would have saved a week of unpacking and fixing stuff. Since now I can be sure that all my items go here safely, i can honestly say that if I just recommended their services to my cousin, I would do so to my friends and city search readers. They are clean, professional and courteous at all times. So now I am going back to fixing the walking closets and then be able to go around town, grab something to eat and site see for a bit. more

Today's move went great 8/28/2011

I was afraid that with the hurricanes and the earthquakes going on that my move was going to be delayed or cancelled. I had spent all my savings on this move and didnt have any additional money to pay for storage or any delays on my new apt lease. I called Nationwide Relocation Services customer agent that was assigned to me and they assure me that they will keep me inside the loop of what was going on with my move. I am so happy with the outcome as they always called me to let me know when the drivers were going to be here and what I needed to do. So to all the employees that made my move possible, I give you 2 thumbs up and 5 stars. more
