I ate dinner at Mo's Crab and Pasta Restaurant in Baltimore and was enjoying the meal until my boyfriend noticed a live maggot-like white worm in his red wine. Then, after searching, we both found several others in our glasses. We had ordered a bottle and watched the waiter open it in front of us. After alerting him, he was very defensive and said that it must be the wine and from the grapes that made the wine. This did not make a whole lot of sense, but we were trying not to make a scene so we waited patiently while the waiter called the manager who was not on-site that evening. We were told that the manager wanted to come meet with us and that he would be right over, but first he tried to difuse the situation by offereing us a new bottle of wine. (Are you kidding? I was feeling sick from the thought of drinking worms and the last thing I wanted was more wine.) As we waited for the manager I called a friend and had her google ""worms in wine"" and all sorts of similar phrases. Well, nothing came up on google!! So, we concluded that the waiter was full of it and in fact the wine glasses were worm-ridden. Finally, after we waited 45 minutes, the manager calls and again and confirms that he is not meeting us but wants to talk to us. My boyfriend got on the phone and had to pretty much fight just to have the wine fee of $28 removed from the bill. The manager said it is not his fault that there were worms in the wine. My boyfriend told him that we had been waiting for 45 minutes and deserve something taken off our tab, but the manager would not budge. WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO RUN A RESTAURANT! Needless to say, I am upset and disgusted by this place. I am going to complain further and to the nationally acclaimed vineyard that supplied the wine. They need to know that this restaurant is committing slander.
