Nice 2/8/2006

Nice and Intimate. Quite a place for a date and more. more

A good place for a 2 hour lunch 11/20/2005

I work in the area and went here for a business lunch. The food is good and they have an interesting menu from which to choose. I had the lemonade (quite tart, a plus!) and the Cobb salad (nice portion and yummy). Unfortunately, the service was abysmal. It took forever to get menus, refills on drinks, and our food. That would be fine if the place was packed and the server apologized for the delay, but that was not the case. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and will likely give them one more chance, but the service must improve. Pros: Menu Options, Food Quality, Atmosphere Cons: Service more

Surprisingly Good Food 8/26/2005

Our meals were tasty and beautiful. We were alittle cold on the front patio and the service could have been more attentive. I will go back and give it another try because the food was fabulous. Pros: location, food, athmosphere Cons: service more

Could Ask for Anything Better!!! A++++ 7/12/2005

All I can say is amazing. The food, service, decor, people, atmosphere, etc. They have it all!!! In the come and go of Hollywood restaurants, it's great to see both the management and the patrons have gotten this one right. I have eaten here over 100 times, and have never left disappointed. No exaggeration at all, never once have I ever wished for a different experience. Overall, Hollywood owes Mirabelle a standing ovation!!!! Congratulations to the Germanides family!!!! Pros: food, drinks, people more

Great atmosphere, good food.. 6/28/2005

Visited recently and had a nice night. Great looking place with a nice vibe. Food was good, not outstanding but enjoyable. Seafood based, though they do have some meat dishes as well. I had the mussels with chorizo and some sweet potato fries which were fantastic. It was a little crowded, therefore a bit loud the night we were there. But, that almost seemed to be part of the ambience. It's not really the quiet, romantic type of a place. Has much more of a nightclub feel. Overall, worth the visit. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Crowded more

The Lamb Chops! 6/8/2005

I had the Lamb Chops last time I went and they were amazing. My date had the salmon (I think...), well whatever fish it was that she had, she loved it too. I was looking at her face more. It's very romantic, so guys if you want to have a good time, this is a great place. more

A Kobe burger to die for! 3/5/2005

I go here for lunch a lot and went once for dinner. I DREAM about the Kobe burger. Thick, juicy, and not always on the menu. Dinner was great too. Fresh mussels well-made, which is not easy to find in LA. If you want to save money, go during lunch and sit on the patio. If you feel like having mussels, go for dinner and sit inside. more

A good find 2/19/2005

Feb 19, '05 Dinner - The hostess was really sweet and even checked back with us once we were seated to see how everything was. A nice touch. Waiter was ok - if not a bit surly. The editorial review here is a bit out of date as most of the menu options they review are no longer available. But the lamb was still there (not on pistachio risotto) and it was divine. The filet was good but not great - loved the salted potatoes. A must try is the tempura shrimp with almonds and honey dip. Pass on the ceviche which only had shrimp. The chocolate souffle too soggy but pouring melted chocolate into it sort of made up for it. We'll try a different dessert next time. Pros: Atmostphere, Bar scene, Food more

Delicious!!! 10/25/2004

Ahi Tuna Tartare (ended up ordering 2) and Flatiron Steak are not to be missed. Meza Plate was great as well. Kumomoto (Oregon) oysters were perfect with a little horseradish and vinegar. Apple Martini was perfect and Australian white wine (sold by the glass) was a great complement to the meal. Love the early specials that are available every day from 4-7. Pros: Food, Ambiance, Valet more

Always a pleasant experience 8/26/2004

Mirabelle has been the one of my only consistently positive dining experiences living in L.A. We've been there about 8x over the last year and the service, food, and drinks are always very good. The food is not stunning but it is consistently good and sometimes excellent. At happy hour, which runs I believe from 4pm to 7pm during the week, you can get 7 apps for $7, oysters for 95 cents and reduced drink $. So for the cost conscious out there who don't want to blow $150 mid-week on dinner, its a bargain. The servers there are always sweet, patient, and knowledgeable. If you're a smoker you can sit and eat in the bar area while basking in the sun streaming in from the many windows. For a quieter, more romantic experience, sit in the main dining room. Cheers! more

surprisingly good 7/13/2004

I just moved to the area, so I've been trying out different places to find restaurants that I can rely on for good food. A friend and I dined in Mirabelle's on a whim during lunch and I had a mediocre tuna burger with great fries. However, the apple tart is absolutely wonderful. The wait staff is generally friendly, but it does take a little while to get their attention even when it's not busy. I totally recommend trying dinner there - the angel hair dish is absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable, the quality of the food is great, and the atmosphere is amazing. Try dining in the covered patio area when it's not too hot outside for a cozy and relaxing meal. Pros: prices, food more

  • The Scene
Walk down the handful of steps at this Sunset standby and enter a world of elegant dining with a touch of kitsch--Andy Warhol would dig the '80s-inspired lip-shaped sculpture. The glitzy pre-nightclub set sticks to the bar, while industry-ites and B-list celebs clutter the adjoining open-air restaurant and patio. Fresh seafood, daily oyster specials and classic entrees are the backbone of the American bistro fare. Jalapeno-spiced calamari is served with forgettable cocktail sauce, but the meaty blue crab cakes paired with tangy papaya relish and sweet chili butter are a hit. As an entree, tasty herb-encrusted Chilean sea bass, served on a bed of ratatouille, is a fish-lover's dream. The generous slab of grilled New York sirloin couldn't find a better companion than truffle mashed potatoes. Lamb lovers will enjoy the Colorado rack, simmered in its own rich juices and served atop a creamy pistachio risotto.
