Professional and friendly 2/11/2012

I owed a debt along with two other roommates from an apartment we lived in. While I know we owed some of the money we disagreed on some of the charges. Jenny worked with me to settle my account less some of the charges we did not agree with. I visited their office to get some paperwork and it was much larger than I would have thought. They were well organized and very professional during my visit. more

Good People 2/1/2012

For a collection agency these guys are great! I could not get my college transcripts to enroll in school until I paid this bill. To make a long story short they went out of their way and jumped through some hoops to make it happen for me. Prompt and courteous. Grand Valley here I come! more

A bit pushy, Worked it out! 1/22/2012

I have never dealt with a debt collector before so I don't know how to compare to others. At first Mrs. Kline insisted that I pay off my debt but after explaining my financial issues and answering a number of questions she talked with her supervisor and was able to give me a bi weekly payment. I thought she was a little pushy and asked too many questions but I guess she had a job to do and we did finally agree on a payment so I guess I'm happy. 4 STARS. more

Convenient, Easy to talk to 1/17/2012

I've gotta give credit where credit is due. I had a very bad experience with a collection agency from Texas last year so I was ready for a battle with Merchants & Medical. After explaining my situation the collector gave me several options for repayment. We basically met in the middle which is more than I can say for the other collection agency I dealt with. They gave me a code for me to make payments online which works for me because I work third shift. You will get my money before those people in Texas will. Thank you for being human! more

Great Customer Service! 1/8/2012

I was surprised when the customer service representative asked me to write a review about my experience with them but it seems they are concerned about their public image. I could not be happier with the way I was treated by Mrs. Mckenna. She was very professional and courteous and seemed to care about my situation. She took a payment from me over the phone without charging me the service fees other companies have charged and gave me a monthly payment plan that was reasonable. My experience seems to be the opposite of what some of the others have posted about this company. I hope that I dont have any more collection accounts but I would welcome a phone call from these people anytime. more

HOLY FREAKIN SH*T 1/5/2012

If you want your money find anther collection agency 12/30/2011

If you are a customer RUN RUN RUN you have a better chance of getting your money from the lotto than them. more

I told them how much I could pay and they accepted it. 12/27/2011

I knew I had debt and said what I can budget. There was agreement within minutes and only a little haggling. It was as easy as calling the number given. I do wish they would send me a monthly bill telling me how much I still owe but they said I can log into my account online and find out so I guess that will work. So long as you intend to pay, they will work with you. more

Good Experience - Helpful 12/20/2011

I have fallen on hard times during this recession and Mr. Gibson went out of his way to help me out. He helped me with re-billing my health insurance after I had a problem with them and worked out good arrangements for me on my other account. I could not be more pleased which surprises me given that collection agencies have a bad stigma attached to them. Thank You!! more

The rudest person I have ever talked to 2/24/2011

Upon receiving a message from their office, I returned the call two days later (first chance I got with work and school). Scott Andrews demanded I pay a ridiculous amount and would hear nothing otherwise. I told him I would call him back another day when i had a chance to discuss it with my husband. I returned his call and told him I was wiling to pay, just not nearly as much as he wanted. He told me he was doing my a favor already and didnt need to work with me at all. I tried to question him on other options and he informed me ""I dont deal with babies."" I have no idea where that came from. Nothing I had said was remotely childish. When I told him he was extremely rude and asked to speak with someone else, he refused. Again, I asked to speak with his superior, he refused. He continued to berate me and tell me how stupid I was for not taking his offer. I continued to ask him where I could send payments I was able to make. He refused to give me a location until I gave him my bank account info. Needless to say, I told him I was through dealing with him and hung up. Upon calling the business my debt is with and revealing my experience, they were horrified. They were furious that payment had basically been refused over the phone for the amount I was willing to pay, especially since my debt has been with the collector for LESS THAN A WEEK! I am sending that what I can afford, and I will continue sending them what I can afford. If they send it back, I will see them in court. more

Very Unprofessional and Rude 12/31/2010

If I could give them a negative number for a rating, I would give them a -10. I received a phone call from this company about a debt for a medical bill. They started the phone call by asking me for my credit card or bank information without identifying themselves. How many people are going to give out their personal info over the phone to a stranger? Then, I asked for a copy of the itemized bill which is my right as a consumer to know what was I being charged for. This man began accusing me of lying when I told him I never received one from the hospital. Then, he began accusing me of trying to avoid my debt because I wanted a copy of the bill. I don't mind paying my debts if I know what I am paying for and it is a valid debt. However, to call someone and start demanding their personal banking information is way out of line. To accuse them of outright lying is even more unprofessional when I have never sopken with these people before. more

Awful people to deal with 12/1/2009

I have some outstanding medical bills that I've been paying on for over a year. During that time, I had made the mistake of allowing ACH access to our bank account. Recently the permission had expired, and I did not renew it. Instead I chose to mail our payment in. Pros: There are none Cons: Employees are extremely rude more

Horrible people STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS!!!!!! 7/21/2009

If you have to deal with these idiots im truely sorry.Had a medical debt that i was fully aware of and paying for.The moron and i came to an agreement of a monthly bill.Went on vacation and when i returned this moron had called my employer 5 times in ten days!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!??!?! I got in contact with her and she told me the agreement was void now and she needed the payment in full???? WHAT!!!!!!! I told her this isnt what we agreed upon and she blew me off and pretty much said tough. After telling her i didnt have the full amount she said someone else would be in contact with me and HUNG THE PHONE UP!!!!! Two weeks later i had another moron on the phone with me.She just started rambling on about the debt.I told her i knew about it and was willing to start the agreed upon monthly bill and she told me NO!!!! These people try pushing you around to get all the money now and default on their own agreements!!!!! She tried talking over me so i let her have her time (i listened) when it was my turn she did just that and tried talking over me and belittle me.NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She ended the call with me by hanging up and so did the initial moron because she couldnt push me around and got frustrated i think. When these morons call you KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already told them to stop calling my employer and they have not quit, so it might be time for a lawyer for harrassment!!!!!! Cons: Everything about them! more

Horrible experience with these people....HORRIBLE!!!!!!! 12/24/2008

These people are horrible. It's very obvious they have never been trained in costumer relations. My 17 yr old daughter had answered the phone & Mr. Romen asked for my husband. My daughter stated that he wasn't available. He told her that he was calling about the accident she had in the school parking lot earlier this year. He told her that a ""warrant"" was going to be issued for her & my husband's arrest because we did not have insurance on the car she was driving. She told him there was insurance on that car. He wouldn't listen. After hanging up she told me that she had received the strangest call. It was some man saying that there was going to be a warrant out for her arrest because of the accident at school & he said that we didn't have insurance on the car. I immediately called the number she was given & asked for this man & of course he was not available. I was transferred to a Mrs. Wilson, supposedly his supervisor. I tried to explain that he had questioned my 17 yr old & he had scared her to death by threatening her with a warrant for her & my husband's arrest. I tried to tell her that I did not appreciate the manner in which he spoke to my daughter. She defended him by saying that he would never say that. Then she said she wouldn't talk with me because I was not involved. After realizing my daughter was with me, she spoke with me. I explained that we did have insurance. She would not listen, threatened me with license suspension. Finally she told me that AAA, the other Ins. company, submitted a bill to them. She said that we would not pay so AAA hired them. I told her we never received a bill from AAA. Explained that both kids had exchanged info with Ins. listed. She tried to accuse my daughter of not changing her address when she moved. I said she never moved. We were guilty & nothing was changing her mind. I had my Ins. Co. send her proof. She said it was enough to end collections. I wish I had a way to do something to them for the more

Bit on the Negative and they like to lie, watch for FDCPA claims against them! 10/20/2008

I received a call from Scott Andrew about a debt I was never informed of from Baker College. He thought I was an idiot and treated me as such. He tried to demand instant payment by check or the debt would post to my credit report instantly. I told him I was going to contact Baker to figure out what was going on and he said they would just refer me back to him. Scott kept on pushing that I pay him now! I refused. At the end of our initial conversation he then notified me that anything I said could be used to collect the debt (basically in court, and being recorded). Pros: They are respectable if you understand the FDCPA and tell them. Cons: Very rude initially and treat you as a low life bum. more

They need to get thier act together on many different levels 9/2/2008

I am REALLY not happy with how many things were handled by this company. The girl that I talked to was initially rude and conscending. She first had called my husband at work. She was rude with him and immediately threatened civil action against us. Then I tried to explain that the hospital was supposed to rebill us and send us an itemized bill. The hospital never did either and instead sent the debt to this company. When I told her this she said ""Well, neither the hospital or us are going to waste another tree to make the paper to someone who probably won't pay. and just trying to put it off."" I had not recieved the letters that they claimed to have sent. She was getting more rude with me the longer I sat on the phone. She finally said something about the letters being blue and that really confused me. I'm not sure exactly what I said to her but she then realized that I really hadn't recieved them. Then and only then did her attitude lessen. I did set up payments with her that day and she was supposed to send me papers so the payment could be automatically with drawn. It is now 2 weeks later and I have not received the paperwork to do so and the next payment is coming up. I had to call her back and again she was rude with me. What the heck! I'm someone who is trying to pay you and this is your mistake. Something is not right if you are sending me something and they are NOT getting to me. They are just rude and condescending and what made me the most angry was that I'm trying to work with her and never denied the debt and she was to rude. Cons: rude, pushy, use scare tatics. more

Great Customer Service 6/4/2008

I didnt have a problem with them. I was very polite to them as they were to me. I did what they asked of me right off the bat and then they worked with me on what else could be taken care of. Also at any time I needed more time to set things up with them they were always more than understanding about my personal situations. The Person assigned to my account was very friendly and not only helped me with my financial obligations to the company she also gave some helpful advise with other problems i'd been having. All and all a plesant experience aside from the $4,600 I had to pay them, lol. But that was owed to them if they were jerks or not. Pros: Very Friendly Staff Cons: A bit Foward, but not to a Fault. more

One of the worst companies that I have had to deal with..... 5/29/2008

I totally agree with the other user. They are short, rude , demeaning and condescending. I have returned a call in response to a message they left and then the person I am looking for is conveniently unavailable and yet the person you are on the phone with claims to be the secretary for the person you wanted in the first place. Total lines of lies and deciet are trying to be fed that I just end up hanging up on them. Cons: I think I have covered every miserable inch more
