Great service... but my moving time got pushed back... and moving in rush hour is expensive & a pain!! 8/5/2010

I loved the movers - they were great. Really professional, super speedy, and very personable. However, I had scheduled a moving time for mid afternoon, and due to the business of the day, the move didn't actually start until 5. And downtown, at 5, traffic moves very slow. I was really bummed that most of the moving-time was spent stuck in traffic.. especially when you're paying $150 an hour to sit in traffic. Luckily, the guys worked insanely fast, so that definitely helped. more

We had a great experience with Mad City Moving. The scheduling staff was friendly and prompt, and the movers themselves were incredibly well organized, strong, careful, quick, efficient, and just nice guys. I would definitely recommend Mad City to friends in the area. more

Workers worked hard and were pleasant. My possessions were in storage for several months and were not stored as carefully as I had been advised they would. one item was missing, several broken items and quite a few scratches and chips on furniture. Repairs were done well to the items I made formal complaints about - the rest I just let go. more

Unprofessional and unskilled movers were NOT prepared to move a piano 8/5/2010

I needed a large upright piano moved into my home. I know there is a special dolly and other equipment that can be used to do this. Because Mad City Moving's website specifically mentioned the ability to move pianos, I assumed the movers would arrive prepared with this equipment. Nope. They decided to just heave ho it up the stairs into my house and hope for the best, rather than formulating a strategic plan. I was terrified that they were going to drop it the entire time--and they came close, several times. Pianos are HEAVY. I also had to specifically ask them to lay down a runner--luckily, because they definitely would have knicked up my hardwood floors otherwise. They were also young and unprofessional, and charged me for an hour when the whole experience took 10-15 minutes tops. They all arrived with bright red slushies of some kind, so I assume they were charging me for the time it took them to go to lunch before the job. I was not happy with this experience and will never call Mad City Moving again. more

They were right on time, didn't waste time, were careful about not hitting the walls with my furniture, and they were nice guys to boot. I was very happy and would recommend them to others. more

Terrific Experience 8/5/2010

The four men who came to move my elderly parents were the best. They were very patient with my parents occasional confusion and inability to make decisions. They remained very professional throughout the all-day move. The weather was blistering hot but they never slowed down. They were always polite and cheerful. I hope they get bonuses this year! more

I only found one box with broken china in it. It must have been on the bottom of other boxes because it was packed in a "China Packing Box." They moved very quickly and did exactly what we expected although the truck they brought did not fit all of our stuff and we moved the rest ourselves months later. more

Where do I start? It took them over 2 1/2 hours to move 3 pieces of furniture less then 2 miles. I saw them throw my matress down the stairs. They got my couch stuck in the doorway and never actually got it in the house. I had to get a couple of friends to help me get it in. There was a considerable amount of noticeable damage to the woodwork on the couch and when asked about the damages they said "what damages". So I pointed them out and they pulled out an unmatched marker and scribbled in some of the marks. It looks terrible. I arrived late to my new house and they were just standing around and they charged me for that even though someone was there directing them on where to put the furniture. When they figured out that the couch wouldnâ??t fit they sat around for over a half an hour waiting for me instead of calling. I have made a point to not only not recommend them but I have told many people not to use them. Very disappointing considering how much I had to pay for them to damage my stuff. more

Friendly, fast and at a great price 8/5/2010

They were friendly and efficient and careful. I have hired movers before and it finally felt nice not to feel like I was an inconvenience to them. They were so fast even though the company charged hourly. More concerned with customer satisfaction than charging the most they can. And they were less expensive than most! Great experience. I would highly recommend more

Mad City Moving was suggested to me by a friend. Reasonably priced. The movers themselves were speedy, yet still careful not to damage my property. In addition, the movers were friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend. more

Because of unusall circumstances I had to hire movers 3 times in 3 months. Every time Mad City was on time and did a very good job including moving several valuable antiques. more

I called the other big company in town first and was a little taken aback by the prices and the attitude. Called Mad City and they made everything better. Guys who helped me move were professional, courteous, attentive, and really good guys. Mad City would be my first choice in the future and I will recommend them to anyone needing help with a move. more
