L'elite Bridal

My sister is getting married, and we went for bridesmaid, jr bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. I dreaded having to go for these dresses because I know what a nightmare it can be. But at L'elite, it was wonderful! We were able to pick out different styles for our body types (and there were lots of options!), and then the dresses would be made to match by color. That was so exciting, because none of us had the same body. And I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, but I'm a big girl, and if anything the staff went to lengths to make me feel comfortable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, quick, had great suggestions, were super polite, and we were in and out of there in an hour! We found what we liked, they took our measurements, we set the color, and that was it! I was so relieved that we were able to get the whole thing done in one outing (since everyone was coming from out of state), and thrilled it went so seamlessly. Thank you L'elite, and I would definetly go there again when I have to buy a dress for another special occasion. Despite some of the horrible reviews, thus far I have had a great experience at L'elite. I live in New York City but was home visiting my parents in Boston and my mom and I decided to check out some of the Bridal stores on Newbury street. I made an appointment with L'elite about a week before and had no problem the day I went. There were only one or two other people in the store and they spent hours with me since I was so indecisive. I'm not a size 4-more like a size 8 or larger and I definitely have hips and a butt and they never commented on my size or said they didn't have dresses to fit my figure. They have a huge collection of lots of different designers. Of course, most of them are pretty high end, but what do you expect at a boutique on Newbury street? I found a dress that day that I loved and the girl in alterations was able to accommodate me right away since I was going back to New York. I've been to two fittings so far and I have two more to go. It's terrible that other people had problems but even living out of town there is no way I would allow them to ship the dress to me with out trying it on first even if they said it was fine and I didn't need a final fitting. And If they did ship it to me I would never wait until just a few days before my wedding to take it out of the box and try it on. Who knows? But so far, they've been really flexible, and accommodating and I have had a great experience.\r \r more

I recently purchased my wedding gown at L'Elite bridal and the experience quickly became the nightmare of my wedding. I had three fittings before they shipped the dress to the location of my wedding. When I tried on the dress a couple of days before the wedding, we realized that the bottom two layers of the dress were still pinned up and had never been sewn! How they managed to put the dress in a box without realizing the pins escapes me. In addition the top layers of the skirt had been cut too short to salvage and the bustle was so poorly done we could not image what they did to the dress. When we realized the mistakes we immediately contacted the store. They were extremely unprofessional and the various people in the store actually yelled at us on the phone for several minutes not letting us get a word in edgewise. They eventually admitted their mistake (You can't argue with pins still in the dress!) and sent me the sample gown from their collection because mine was beyond repair. We had to hire a seamstress locally to do the alterations days before the wedding. After going back and forth with them, we were promised L?Elite would pay for the cost of the local seamstress to redo the alterations. They have never paid or apologized. At the end of the day I spent I spent over $10,000 on my dress and alterations in addition to purchasing 3 bridesmaids dresses from them ($1,000+). In addition they were sending us an invoice for the alterations THEY delivered and when we refused to pay them they threatened us. The customer service was awful and they were not sympathetic or apologetic for the stress they caused. On my wedding day I wore a sample gown when I had paid for a new gown and double alterations.\r To all future brides I would recommend reading online reviews for any vendor you are looking to hire. If I had done this I would have realized L'Elite is consistently rated very poorly and would have purchased the same gown elsewhere. I bought my dress from L'elite and it definitely was not one their expensive ones (less than $2000). The sales lady was so nice and accomodating and encouraged me to stay within my budget. The other staff was also friendly. Pros: Knowleldgeable sales people, friendly, good selecion Cons: alterations were very expensive over $600 more

I like the service .My consultant didnot pressure me to buy.She help me find the perfect gown by listening to what I wanted.You will find the staff friendly, accomodating and extremely knowlegeable to help you find the perfect dress for your special day. \r The Alteration department makes the fitting process a simple one the gown was altered to perfection and ready in a timely fashion. My friend bought her wedding dress and I, along with three others in her wedding party, purchased our bridesmaid dresses here. One of the bridesmaids was from out of state and had to have her alterations done one week prior to the wedding. The staff told her to pick up her dress the day before the wedding. When we went in to pick it up, the entire top of the dress was disfigured. They said they could fix it by the next day, which also happened to be the wedding day. So, the next day we went in to pick it up, only hours before the ceremony, and it was still not fixed. Their excuse was that my friend had a large chest and therefore it needed ""special"" alterations, so it wasn't their fault. What?! My friend had the same size chest a week prior when they took her measurements and the night before when they promised they could fix their error. This dress was expensive to begin with, they charged my friend more than $100 for the alterations, which resulted in their ruining the dress, and they flat out couldn't fix it and blamed the problem on my friend's chest size - which for the record was a C. On top of this, the owner had the nerve to say she wouldn't charge my friend for the additional work they had to do on the dress (to repair the damage they did) as a favor to the bride. The owner practically shoved us out the door and I actually had to tell her not to touch us. I would do as another reviewer advises and ""run away"" from this store. I have to disagree with the other reviewers. I had a great experience getting my wedding dress as well as my bridemaids dresses from L'Elite. Helen from bridal and Cynthia from bridesmaids were super nice, completely attentive, and very helpful. I had made several appointments and rescheduled them but when I finally did make it in, Helen was still very kind and made me feel like the only bride in the room. After Helen helped me find my Badgley Mischka dress of my dreams, my BMs and I just popped downstairs to take a look at the bridesmaids dresses. Although it was a Saturday and we didn't have an appointment, Cynthia allowed my BMs to try on a few dresses because someone happened to be running a little late for her appointment. We ended up getting the dresses that day. It was so easy and uncomplicated at L'Elite - I would highly recommend them. more

god, where do i start?! horrible on ALL fronts. bought a sample sale dress (which was still insanely expensive, mind you! $2K down from $4K!). they hardly spent any time at all with me for the fitting- rushed me out b/c they had other appts. second fitting, they said i had lost weight- which i didn't think i did- and so took it in more. when i went to pick it up, they said a final fitting was not necessary. got home and it was too small, it was DIRTY and WRINKLED, the train flipped up when i walked b/c the stiffener caught on the floor, the stays in the front were sticking out the top, the zipper still was difficult to close which they said they would fix, the bustle was not finished and they never even showed me how to button it up, and the front was wrinkled b/c it was now too tight. the ""alterations"" they did cost around $500 instead of the $100 they had promised. thankfully, my mom's friend is a seamstress and with onl;y weeks to the wedding, she fixed everthing and cleaned and pressed the gown. ALSO, they sent me the WRONG style shoes!! i had the order form to PROVE it, we didn't have time to wait so i had to run around to find shoes to match and we returned the wrong ones untouched and they NEVER REIMBURSED us!!!! they insisted that they were the correct ones. FINALLY, after the reception (thankfully only a handful of friends were still around to witness it), the back zipper split open and would not go back together. my mom wrote a scathing letter to the store detailing all this and politely asking for some money back.. minimal-for shoes, cleaning and the zipper- but to this day we have NO reply from the store. snooty, overpiced, rude, disgusting treatment- one of the happiest days of my life was marred by them and to this day, my poor mother's is enraged when she thinks of that beautiful dress and all the stress they put us through in the final weeks. please, DO NOT GO HERE!!! more

This place contributes to the psychopathology of this society! They act as if you are ""fat"" if you are bigger than a size four... and what if I was ""fat"", would I not deserve to have just as beautiful a wedding dress! And GOD forbid if you have hips and breasts or the dreaded butt! Don't you know that the European runway models have not finished puberty for goodness sakes! My experience was unpleasant at best, humiliating at worst. I am a size six to eight, and the sales people were flabergasted by my hips and breasts, and could not ""possibly find anything to fit you!"". These women do not care about anything but the bottum line. Unless you are a size 4 or less, and want to spend upwards of 10 grand on a dress, AVOID THIS PLACE. more

Lelite Collection Are Among The finest I had seen as I search for a wedding gown throughout New England. I had wonderful service my gown had to be taking down 2 sizes because I lost a lot of weight I was worried that my dress was going to look different, but the seamstress loan was wonderful and very talented my gown fit me perfectly and it looked amazing. I recommend this boutique for every bride looking for professional service. more

We had a horrible experience there with our bridesmaids dresses - wrong sizes ordered, failure to keep track of dresses, very rude service, and the utter inability of this store's staff to ever take responsibility for any mistake. They do not deserve any bride's business. Save yourself my hassles. more

Brides - save yourself the stress of going here! The dresses may be beautiful, but the alterations department is super disorganized. The head of the alterations department tried to rationalize their sloppy mistakes by blaming it on the dress designer. Apparently my over 1,000 dollar gown was made by a designer that makes ""imitation"" gowns and that is why the fabric did not hang correctly. I don't think so! The leftover material that I had asked them to save (I wanted to use them for the flowers and flower girl) was put into another bride's dress bag. Fortunately they were able to relocate it, but, oh my goodness. And as the other review mentioned, the sales person was very condescending and critical of the other staff members in front of me. So, find another dress place an save yourself from unnecessary grief. more

I agree with the first reviewer. They were such snobs, specifically the owner/manager. I wish I had read the previous review before making the appointment. Here I am, excited to be a bride and I encounter this BS?! Unless you are perceived to have lots of money, they are reluctant to help. I, personally, don't think their dress selection was all that impressive especially with how high they talk themselves above other stores, but dress style depends on the individual.
