I found myself in the unenviable position of being without a wedding dress 6 days before my wedding after my tailor failed to deliver a wearable dress. I live outside of the country but was getting married in Boston. L'Elite was recommended to me by a local seamstress. I had an appointment with a salesperson on Monday and was presented with a selection of several gorgeous dresses, any of which would have been perfect. By Thursday after some expert tailoring by Lena, I had an amazing dress in hand for my wedding on Saturday. The team at L'Elite were professional and calming in a very stressful situation and they turned what could have been a nightmare into a wonderful occasion. L'Elite was recomended to me by my cousin who get married in her mother,s wedding gown. Her gown needed a lot of changes and she was very happy with the results.\r When I went to L'Elite I was very impressed with their selection of designers, styles, and price ranges. Because I was on a limited budget I purchased a sample gown. Mona who was helping me made me feel welcomed and comfortable. When I asked about alteration cost (it was 2 sizes too small and needed many changes in style) L'Elite's seamstress Lena spent a great deal of time with me explaining to me all my options, offering solutions and compromises. She had many ideas and I felt that she understood what I wanted even when I had trouble explaining it myself. The work that she did was truly amazing. We started with a sample gown and ended up with the beautiful and unique gown that was perfect for my body, my personality, and the setting of my wedding. I have never written a review on a website before, but after the horrible experience that I had at L'elite, I felt compelled to warn others! When I first called L'elite to make an appointment, the woman on the phone was very rude, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and continue to schedule the appointment. From the moment my mom and I arrived at the appointment, the woman who was helping us was EXTREMELY snobby and rude. She literally did not smile once the entire time we were there. She stood around while I looked through the dresses, and did not make one suggestion even though I explained what I was looking for. When it was time to try the dresses on, she showed my mom and I to the dressing room and closed us in. She did not offer to help me get into the dresses, so my mom and I were left trying to clip the dresses in the back so that they would fit correctly. Needless to say, this is something that an experienced person working in a bridal shop should be doing, and the two of us had no clue! \r From the moment I walked into L'elite, I felt extremely uncomfortable and almost like it was a hassle that I had come in for an appointment. I am a very easy-going person, and I had wonderful experiences at a number of other bridal salons in the Boston area. This was BY FAR the rudest, snobbiest, most unhelpful bridal salon that I have ever stepped foot in, and I would not recommend it to anyone! Pros: This is a difficult one... I am taking down my very poor review because they seem to be coming around and agreeing that the wrong order I received was a misunderstanding. My experiences with them have not been perfect, but I always feel if a store corrects an error with a store credit, no harm done.\r \r The service isn't perfect, and be careful that you are clear about EXACTLY what you need because they are very tough about returns. Do not take any advice from the people working there if you are not completely sure it is correct! But as I said, I'm an easy going shopper and I think we've come to an understanding. \r \r P.S. Fortunately I do not read reviews before going to any store, however, in this case I decided to do an extra research and I was surprised about L?elite reviews this week so I decided to add my own reviews.\r I started my search for my wedding gown over a year ago and I recently got married this pass August. \r When I made an appointment at L?elite my sales associate was welcoming, friendly, and professional. I showed her pictures of wedding gowns that I liked. She showed me styles that were similar and also styles that I had not tried yet. I liked L?elite for more than one reasons: first, they allowed me to feel the dresses and touch the fabric, try as many as I wanted and they had wide selection of designers and prices. I was stunned and astonished when I found my gown because it was completely different than I had imagined.\r My consultant was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and I couldn?t be happier.\r I am very proud to say that I bought my gown from a very nice Boutique on Newbury in Boston since I lived in Michigan they weren?t as great.\r I am wondering why would you had a bad experience in such a nice welcoming boutique, even the alteration part was fun and easy although I was losing so much weight before the wedding and they accommodated me professionally.\r My advice to all the brides and especially my friends, don?t trust the reviews 100%, try it yourself and you will judge better.\r I highly recommend L?elite and I would love to go back again for evening gowns soon. \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: Friendly, selection and professional Cons: Parking more

I have had several encounters anoccasions to visit L'elite Bridal for formal wear and weddings. Each and every time I was well receved and treated w/professionalism. I found many choices of name brans gowns. My daughter and I were treated as if we were their one and only customer. The shop was capable of shutting out the world around and we took hours of their time and they were as pleasant and helpful from start to finish. We requested the shop have for us several name brand gowns present for our visit that we liked (viewed on the net previously). They complied and had no difficulty when we purchased another style. Personally I requested cap sleeves put on my dress when it was strapless. This was done beautifully and w/out notice. My daughters wedding dress needed to be significantly altered and this was done beautifully as though the dress was made only for her. I had the occaison to stop in short notice and was able to get altered a beautiful gown for a ""Black Tie"" formal occaision for my self and my daughter w/in 1 day. This service was provided w/the utmost couteousness and professionalism you expect and recieve from a high caliber Boutique like L'elite. Fortunately I did not read the reviews in this service as I find it unfounded. It takes two to tango I wonder how the previous reviewers were to the staff of the boutique. I didn't read the reviews before going in so my opinion is formed solely based on my experience. I went in for my appointment and the young woman helping me did not help me at all. I had an idea of the style/cut of dress I wanted and even gave her a description and names of dresses that I had in mind - she was unable to see or understand what kind of dress I wanted, even though I told her I wanted lace, mermaid or flowing, non-strapless. They gave no suggestions at all!! Instead, she said, why don't you just look around at our dresses and see what you might want to try on - which is fine, but she didn't attempt to help me look through dresses or tell me the types of dresses they carry and in which section. I ended up choosing some dresses that fit a couple of my criteria but they just did not look nice at all. When I asked if they had a dress I did want to try on, an older lady (perhaps the owner?) jumped in to tell me they don't have it but I could try on something else that ""looks like it and is basically the same"". Neither of them went to get it for me so I had to ask a few times before they brought it out and when they did, it definitely was NOT even remotely similar to the one I asked for(even though they saw the pictures). Not only were they not helpful, both women acted pretentious and rude - the older woman kept pressuring me to take that dress because it was ""the same thing"" - based on that experience, I would NEVER purchase from them. I recently went to the Pronovias boutique in New York and that was the best experience and I recommend that to anyone. In contrast, Pronovias was extremely helpful and not haughty at all. I just wanted to warn anyone thinking of going to this place that they should stay\r away. I went in with my mom who was looking at dresses for herself. We were\r helped by an older woman. She was so condescending. She tried to convince us\r to try an dresses that we didn't like. They looked like something I would have worn\r to my prom back in the 90s. She told us that she was a tailor and could change things\r and make it look custom made. She tried to convince us that the dress had been \r made in France and was a one of a kind peice. Did she really think she could pull\r the wool over our eyes. She just wouldn't listen to us. I would never go back to this\r place. I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews before I decided to go. more

I would never recommend using L'elite for anything. I went to get fitted for a bridesmaids dress which they had to order for me. I tried the sample they had in the store (size 12). I am a size 2 -4 and she suggested to try it on just to see what it would look like. Which was fine. She then took my measurements and told me based on the measurements I would a size 6. I said no based on the measurements it looks like I need a 4. The only measurement that was off was my waist by one inch. She then wrote down a 6 even though I said I wanted a 4. I went back and decided NOT to get the dress altered by them considering their rude and snotty attitude when I said that I told the lady in the downstairs section that I had requested a 4 and the 6 was about 2 sizes to big. She was so rude and offered NO help. The only woman who worked there who was nice was the older woman ( I think she does the alterations). I took the dress to a new bridal shop where I tried the dress on and everyone in the store was shocked that they would order such a huge dress - they had to take 2 inches in on both sides. They even said she definitely measured you wrong. Horrible service. more
