Whenever I go for a waxing, I get that nervous feeling you get when you go to the doctor because I know it is going to be a very long painful session. I decided to try out La Dolce Vita because my friend went there and said it was good. I was greeted by Elana and we proceeded to the room where the waxing was done. She was very friendly, we talked and laughed the whole time and I was very surprised when she was done. It was quick and not as painful as the other places Ive been to. I cant say anything yet about their other services because I havent tried them out but their waxing is great (especially Elanna). Pros: Waxing, Price more

Straight Hair! 12/1/2005

i went to get the chemical hair straightening a couple of weeks ago and i am very happy with the result. my hair is still straight and smooth even if i havent been giving it the tlc it requires especially after paying a lot of money for it. the stylist was very nice and spent the whole four hours chatting with me. Review for Waxing 11/29/2005

Their Brazilian waxing was indubitably the best one ive ever had. It was quick, thorough, not as painful, and cheaper than others ive been to. I hugely recommend this place to everyone. My waxers name was Deeana in case anyone uses this review to schedule an appointment. The only con was that parking was quite a challenge but other than that, everything was perfect. more

Great Results 11/29/2005

I went to La Dolce Vita because I wanted to treat myself for my birthday. I did not make an appointment but they were able to accomodate me for a massage, manicure and hair cut. The massage was fantastic! probably one of the best ive had in my life. The therapist was very good and very strong and the room was very tranquil and relaxing. I was most pleased with my hair cut though. The stylist was able to cut and style my hair excatly how ive been wanting it to look. Ive been bouncing from salon to another and nobody has been able to do my hair right. This is my new favorite place! more

Not the place for eyebrows! 11/21/2005

I only went for my eyebrows and had a horrific experience. I should have known better, seeing as how they only charge $18 for the service. I was greeted pleasantly enough but the "specialist" made no effort to make me feel comfortable or to consult with me about what I wanted. The wax was cheap and I was left raw and red. If you want two eyebrows that match, go somewhere else. Cons: small, dingy looking, Unskilled employees, Poor customer service more

Very Helpful 11/16/2005

I went to this place without an appointment and they were very accomodating and I was greeted very nicely. I made a last minute decision to get a facial so I consulted with their staff about my skin problems. They semmed very knowledgable and knew exactly what my condition was. The facial was very nice and relaxing, and I really liked how the room was decorated. Its been a couple of days since and ive noticed a slight improvement. Go somewhere else before swim season 11/15/2005

Being new to the area, I went to La Dolce Vita based on citysearch comments. Although I should have noted that most of the positive remarks were regarding haircuts. I went for a bikini wax. The first time I went was awkward (as usual) but even more akward when I had to ask for things that I had become accustomed to getting during a wax. The second time was even more awkward with an inexperienced waxer. NOT PLEASANT. The third time, I waited for about 15 minutes before they told me that the wax machine was broken. I did recieve a $50 gift certificate but I don't plan on using it. I found a MUCH better place down the street and will not be returning to La Dolce Vita anytime soon espcially not for a bikini wax. This spa was pretty cool. Different from any of the ones Ive been to before. It was very quaint and the people were very nice. Massage was excellent! I think the therapists name was Mary. I did not want to leave the massage room. I will be back soon. more

I wasnt sure where to go to get my hair cut. so when i went into this salon to make an appointment they were so nice. the appearance of the salon was so clean cut. it was wonderful. i got my hair cut by Jen, who i highly recommend. she is wonderful, she definatly knows what shes doing. more

-way to expensive -they had marked my appointment time incorrectly, as well as overbooked the stylist -they had a dvd and club cd playing at the same time. the receptionist's downloads from her computer could be heard as well -the "executive" advertised for "the girl on the go" is not. it's a lot of money, and takes a lot of time (without apology). i ended up not getting the haircut, as the stylist (who never introduced herself to me) wasn't ready after my 2.5 hour regular mani-pedi-brow wax. the "executive" is for the girl with a lot of time on her hands and a lot of money. I went to La Dolce Vita because I recieved a gift certificate from a friend for a facial, pedicure and a Swedish massage. I was very pleased with the services and the ladies who did them were really good. It was very well worth skipping a couple of hours from work. more

Recommended for Hair Color 9/14/2005

I went in a couple of days ago for a hair cut and color. I was so delighted with the outcome that I had to post a review. I took a big risk by going to a new place but Im fed up with the attitude and lack of professionalism they give at my old salon. I asked for hair that I could maintain easily and thats exactly what I got. I pretty much just have to dry my hair and im all set to go in the morning. Ive been wanting a cut like this for a long time and there have only been a few who have been able to do this. I will surely go back again! This place is amazing they started me off with a delicious mimosa then proceeded with the best pedicure ever! They had this fantastic warm sugar scrub! i also had highlights done and the girl that did my hair was an absolute genius and let me tell you I'm very picky about my hair! I am so glad I found this place !! Do yourself a favor and try it out!! Although I dont recommend driving in, take the T parking is horrendous,But they did offer to feed my meter for me! Massage and Manicure 9/11/2005

Ask for Mary for an amazing massage. I didnt want it to end, it was great! I also got a spa manicure and pedicure as part of the package that was given to me. They were also really good and relaxing. My nails have not looked like they do now in a while and the bottom of my feet are nice and softer. I did not want to leave after all my treatments and wished I could have just stayed there all day. Great the second time around 9/9/2005

I had come into the salon soon after they had opened and I had a wonderful, relaxing time there.When I came back for my facial The front desk remembered me as well as the girl doing the facial. Elana is very professional and also made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. The facial was amazing and I think I even fell asleep. My skin is still soft and glowing. I will deffinatly be going back again more

Friendly place 9/5/2005

Went for a pampering Spa day. Which was good but not excellent. The staff is friendly, but parts of their spa lack a spaish edge. The massage room fanatisic as the message, room soothing and tranquil. The nail stations out in the middle of the salon and get lost behind the huge message chairs lined up people walking back and forth and the tv in the corner on mute...which was annoying. I will defently go back for another massage but the nails lacked any privacy or pampering that I feel the money deserved. I felt like I was in a 20 dollar nail place and not a soothing spa area Pros: tranquil spa space, friendly staff, get location and view Cons: noise in main rooms, overcrowed mani/pedi more
