Extraordinary service! 8/16/2005

After leaving La Dolce Vita I felt like a million bucks! Deanna does a superb job with facial waxing. She is extremely attentive and pays close attention to details. The room was crisp and clean, with relaxing music playing softly in the background. It was a soothing experience and I didn't feel as if I was being rushed out the door. Deanna concentrates on making sure you look your best for the rest of the day! I plan on going back for a facial. more

My Awsome Pedicure & Manicure 8/16/2005

I was treated by my husband to a spa pedicure & spa manicure for my birthday. I had alsways wondered what the big deal was and why it was so expensive. Now I know why it cost that much and it was well worth my husbands money. It was very, very good and relaxing. I loved the massage, mask, and parrafin part of it. They did a pretty good job making my hands & feet look better and they felt very soft & smooth after. They had really good and comfy pedicure tub chairs too. Just want to rave about finding the best salon I have ever been to !!!! I got a haircut,manicure and pedicure because the prices were so reasonable. The people were so freindly and the place was gorgeous!!The Hairdresser was extremely talented and I cant stop looking in mirrors at my beautiful new cut! You have to check this place out!!!! BAD SERVICE 8/15/2005

I went in for a brazilian, and left very disappointed. The esthetician did not listen to my requests and gave me bikini wax even though I was dishing out the extra cash for a brazilian. When I voiced my disappointment and asked if she could finish the job, she replied that it was too late and that she would do what I asked the next time. Obviously, if they wanted to keep a customer they would have made sure I got what I paid for. They weren't interested in doing that, so I'm not interested in going back. Was looking for a waxing services for a brazillian, found this new salon on Boylston...great location, the service was awesome. Deanna is amazing (fast yet thorough, little discomfort with great professionalism, and fabulous results). She's definitely been added to my monthly schedule to Newbury for maintenance/pampering! I am a very satisfied waxing customer. I went for a Brazillian bikini today and it was probably the most thorough one Ive gotten. The waxer was very professional and I didnt feel any akwardness. I haven't tried their other services but I can testify that this is a really good place for brazillian waxing. I also like how homey and cute this place looks. This is my new favorite salon! Ive been switching from one salon to another ever since I moved to MA because I couldnt find a hair stylist who could do my hair the way Id like it to look. The hair stylist at this place really listened to me and followed my instructions on what i wanted done and the results were fantastic. Their prices were also very reasonalble which is another huge plus. I felt like I needed to let people know of this place which is why I wrote this review. Thanks again La Dolce Vita! I decided to try out this place because I pass by it everyday. I went in just for a wax but decided to get my hair colored and cut as well. I am very, very happy with the result. If you have ethnic hair DO NOT go! 7/24/2005

I specifically asked for myself and my roommate if they had someone who specialized in and had lots of experience with Asian hair (thick, dark) since it is hard to highlight. They said they did. So I made us appointments. Worst mistake EVER! We got a stylist did not listen to a word we said and didnt know what "angling bangs down" or "long layers" meant. We wanted subtle face framing highlights but instead we got orange streaks all over our heads and my bangs were so short I had to pin them back with bobby pins for a month. If you have light, thin, caucasian hair then I'm sure youd be fine but if you dont, dont trust them. Find someone who understands your hair type. I didnt go to beauty school but I know what angling bangs means. Find a hairstylist who listens and knows techniques. more

Pretty Good Spa, I Was Very Pleased 7/24/2005

I tried out this place because it is the closest to my work. I got a facial to try them out and it was pretty good. The person who did the treatments was very sweet yet very professional. She talked liked she knew what she was doing. It was very relaxing and calming. The best part about it was I felt like it really did good things to my skin and thats the whole purpose of the facial. Ive had facials in other plcases before and actually came out with a zit or two. I guess whatever products they use there were pretty good. I just wish it were a little cheaper but I guess it was still worth it. Pros: good service, convenient location, products Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a more

I went in today for a brazillian wax and I thought that she was great...It was quick, not painful and I did'nt even leave red...So to that comment on a bad expeirence...I beg to differ...She was great and I would definitely return for a full body wax...Maybe its your skin type, resort to shaving... more

Wax 7/18/2005

I went to La Dolce Vita to get a bikini wax. Not only was it more painful than necessary, the woman didn't listen to my requests. I asked her for something very simple TWICE and she said okay and the never acted. It took nearly an hour. I am bruised. I've had more bikini waxes than I am old and I have never had such a horrible one. I will never go back there and will tell my friends to stay away. more

Pregnancy Massage 7/16/2005

My friend got me a gift certificate from La Dulce Vita for a pregnancy massage. I havent been able to sleep in weeks since I am in my last trimester. About half way into the massage, i fell sound alseep. I havent been that relaxed and comfortable in months. I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to La Dolce Vita- I had a fabulous Spa Pedicure with Elaina. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I had such a positive experience that I went back the following day for waxing with Deanna. She did a wonderful job! My eyebrows haven't looked this good in a long time! I very highly recommend this place to get a pedicure. The manicureist was very good and had a great personality. It is also very convenient for me to get to especially since I work in the area. Best Hairdresser in Boston...Go see Jenn 7/10/2005

I am very picky about my hair and don't usually go see the same stylist more than once. Nobody can ever get my hair to look how I want it. I went into la dolce vita with low expectations, but I ended up finding the most amazing hairdresser. Jenn has done my hair a few times now and she always makes it look perfectly beautiful when I walk out. The best part is my highlights and haircut stay looking great for the two months I wait in between visits. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair till I met her. A few of my friends have gone to see Jenn as well and they are just as thrilled with her amazing talent to create such beautiful hair as I am. I dont usually go to spas because I get a little intimidated and uncomfortable but as soon as I stepped in the place, i felt no such akwardness. The massage I got was amazing!
