Thank you Kindred Pulmonary Rehab 4/28/2017

At first I did not know exactly what would be going on during pulmonary rehab and I thought it would just help me to breathe better. My expectations were for me to get stronger and I have improved greatly and have made a lot of progress. The first day I rode the bike for 10 minutes and I was very pleased. Everybody is very encouraging and always willing to answer my questions. I enjoyed the people, camaraderie, and the exercise equipment. Everything was always very nice and clean. All of the therapists here are very good at their job, they are very understanding, caring, knowledgeable and concerned about your welfare. I think I benefited most from the consistent encouragement and learning pursed lip breathing techniques. Prior to this I was very sedentary. I never wanted to leave the house and I would watch hours and hours of TV and just think about what I would like to be doing instead if it weren't for my condition. It feels great to get out of the house and to be in a positive environment where I am doing something for my benefit. It was also great to be in the company of other patients sharing their experiences and I received valuable knowledge about which home health and DME companies to work with for my home health needs and which ones to stay away from. I'm glad I had this experience and I would like to come again. I would recommend this program to anybody! Diana M. more

Thank you Kindred 4/28/2017

Thank you to Dr. Alan for looking after my husband. I really appreciate your kindness and all that you have done. Also a very big thank you to all the Kindred Southwest staff for all that you have done as well. The entire stay has been fantastic and my husband's recovery has been great. Even though he has to go to another hospital for additional care I just wanted to show all of you that we are very appreciative of what you have done. Olga Robledo more

The care 4/28/2017

It's not my first rodeo with kindred. I have been here before and I keep coming back because I have to but at the same time take it as a good note. Some great kudos goes out to Tina who is one of my tech for her outstanding service and care that she provided me. She has so much energy and I don't understand where she gets the energy from. She is so helpful that she goes way beyond whatever I ask or request it. You don't find these characteristics and many people but most of the stuff that I have run into has been very helpful but Tina has been outstanding! Mickyyou're an outstanding star. And I just wanted to share that with you. But you're very knowledgeable in your role and what makes it most comforting is that you're able to take a doctors elaborate medical terms and to turn it into a simple form that I could understand. Thank you for looking after me. Definitely would recommend somebody who is planning to admit to kindred to ask for Miki as you surely won't be disappointed. Would definitely recommend Kindred to others. David Rogers more

Love the team 4/25/2017

Corinne Who is one of my nurses is very much on top of her game. She is a outstanding nurse who was there for me during my time at kindred. I have to say that she has been fantastic in her care and overall hospitality. She definitely is a team player and I would recommend anybody to ask for her if you are planning to admit at kindred. Another great nurse during the night would be Laura Langelley who I wanted to identify because she is a new nurse however is so much conscientious of her work and the patient she looks after. Very tenderhearted and compassionate as well. Christie Chavez deserves a five star as well because she visits me every day and understands what I'm going through due to her own personal journey in life. I have been to kindred now for a total of six times and people who work there have made me feel very much at home. With that in mind everybody considers me as family and not as a number. Jamica I just want to say that you are fantastic. You like to light up my room with your fabulous smile. It touches me in more ways than you would ever understand but I think that with this review I hope to share my experience with you. Vanessa Bowles your fantastic. Always make me feel great even when I'm down. Thank you. Marcus you are another outstanding individual. I know that being a nurse tech is not the easiest job to have. I do have to say that is one of the most difficult jobs in the hospital but you make it look easy. You're so respectful to me and my care. Your positive attitude helps me in many ways. Raymond you were like my third son. You definitely know how to push me in a positive way. Not letting me be dependent on others but me myself motivating myself to do more then what I can possibly do. Julia Julia Julia I love you as you're so sweet. Always with a great smile on your face. I couldn't Magine walking into the hospital and seeing you with a frown because of your cherry added to it all the time. Always so positive! Kudos to Sarah and Richard from the respiratory team. You're such a blessing as you make me breathe a lot better with your support and the BiPAP machine. Almost forgot about Allison,Jeff and Abby. All three of these individuals are spectacular! Jasmin, Ikea and Marcella, all great nurses tech. Hats off to the entire housekeeping team as you have kept my room very clean and tidy. Without you guys my room would probably be a mess what you all have done a great job. I think the management team should know that you keep this place spic and span. Job well done to all of you thank you. I've been here for such a long time as you can see based upon all the names that I just mentioned. What job well to everybody and do apologize if I forgot someone's name. more

Great Care 4/21/2017

Great care and service was provided to me at kindred. So I thought it be nice to share my experience with those who are looking for hospital or even considering Kindred Southwest. However wanted to say that PJ who is one of the CNA's is a great person both professionally and personally. She help me with everything I needed and never complained. The other person is Shelly Who was one of my nurses. Two great individuals never complained about anything or moaned about any requests that I needed. If you're looking for a hospital for your family or friends to consider kindred as I highly recommend them. Pat H. more

Thank You Kindred! 4/17/2017

I've never really thought too much about rehab programs but attending this program has changed my perspective. I began attending the pulmonary rehab program at Kindred Southwest and I am now able to do many more things both at home and during my rehab sessions. I am now able to go for long walks at home when the weather permits. I gradually began to notice improvements such as increasing my duration on a treadmill from four minutes to 30 minutes. Before when I used to be off of my oxygen, I would get very short of breath but I can now come off of my oxygen and I don't really notice it. On Friday, I joined my wife to pick up my granddaughter and to go check on our taxes. I was off of oxygen the entire time and I felt good. Instructors Ken, Tanya, Ron and Marty are all very good and the lung exerciser that they gave me to use at home is something that I use every day twice a day. Those exercises have really helped me. I now have a much easier time reaching my goals on this equipment. They also gave me an exercise band that I have taken home and along with that I'm using 2 and 3 pound weights for my resistance exercises. I am very grateful for my pulmonary doctor who recommended me to this program and I wish I could keep going but my insurance only pays for so much. Thank you Kindred! Herman G. more

All is good 4/17/2017

A big round of applause for Elma who was my tech during the night shift. She has gone above and beyond In her duties as a tech. She was always there for me every time I push the call light. Never complaining nor whining about my request. She is such a doll. I know the role as a tech is probably one of the most hardest positions at hospital. Because I was one once upon a time. We're talking about in the late 60s when it was much harder than it is today. They also have a great respiratory team as well. When I asked to be put on a BiPAP at 10 they were there right on the dot. Another big kudos goes to Jennifer who is the tech as well. They got her running around in circles on this floor doing a lot of things. A big praise to her because as you can see she is needed all throughout. The food has been excellent as well as I haven't had any problems with it. I'll tell you exactly how good it is. When I was at another hospital we always like to call their meet the brown mystery meat as we never really knew what we were getting. The only thing that I would really recommend and suggest is to improve on the call light issue. Sometimes it takes longer than expected. I know that everybody's busy but us patients are important to. The good thing is that if I had any problems they were able to resolve it in a timely matter. Kathleen N more

These people are great 3/28/2017

Kindred has been great and the care has been fantastic. They know how to make people feel great and also comfortable in a hospital environment. I really built a great relationship with Teresa from the house keeping department and appreciate her taking good care of my room. Thank you. Also thanks to Abby and Christy. You guys made me feel right at home and thank you for the kindness. Mikel Ely more

Good. All Good 3/27/2017

I have been at kindred since March 9, 2017, today is March 22, 2017. Hope to go home in next couple of days. My stay has been very pleasant! I have had the most wonderful nurse Sha for most of my day shifts! Sha goes above and beyond and not once ever complained. Sha has the most pleasant bedside manor, she cares about you and how you feel. All the staff on the second floor, especially Sha and Chrystal have been very kind. I walked the halls daily and when I was down for a day Chrystal came to my room and checked on me. Linda Armstrong more

The Nursing Staff 3/27/2017

The nursing staff treats me with kindness and makes sure all my medical needs are being met. There's been a few minor staff issues but the charge nurse and management quicklty addressed it . IF you need a place for long iv and wound care I would recommend this hospital off Oakmont Boulevard in southwest Fort Worth. Robert Davis more

Great 3/3/2017

I'm going to give a five star to this nurse who I really think deserves it. Her name is Julia she works during the nightshift. The reason why I give her a five star or if I had the opportunity to give her a six star I would. But she deserves my stars because she is one of the most compassionate nurses that I have ever met. She does everything she possibly can to try to make me feel as comfortable as possible. She sometimes does more than she expected to in trying to make me feel at ease. She also helped to explain some of the medications that I was taking and how it affects me in my recovery. Very smart girl! Julia is definitely somebody that they don't want to lose because I'm very positive it's going to be hard to replace somebody like her. Let me explain just a little bit more about Julia. Being a patient at the hospital sometimes we require a little bit more time to communicate or just to get situated inside the room. But since I'm a little timid to ask for her help all the time I'm always trying to tell her that there are other patients who need care maybe more than me. But Julia reinforced that if she spends around 15 minutes with me that I would be less likely to push the call light after she left the room. And you know what it's very true! My mother was a nurse and my grandmother was also a nurse so I can definitely identify who is a good nurse. Jeff, Jeff, Jeff! Another person I cannot forget to name. He is a nother most learned nurses. Very smart indeed. If I could match Jeff up to somebody I remember seeing on TV I would have to say he reminds me of MacGyver. He can make anything happen. He could basically start an IV with a piece of paper and a match. All the nurses know exactly who I'm talking about. more

I'm happy 3/3/2017

Thank you thank you thank you. Very fantastic and outstanding group of nurses. Will definitely recommend you to other people if I have to. Joan C more

To the people behind the scenes 2/23/2017

This five-star goes to Felix. Felix actually works in the maintenance department. Usually nurses get good kudos but I just wanted to give a five star to Felix because sometimes the people that you never really see, those who work behind the scenes actually do the magic for the patients that are at the hospital. Felix just help to fix the leak inside my room restroom. Not a big major fix but I thought it was great to have a good handyman at the hospital when you need them. Plus he just did exactly what he said he was going to do which was to fix the leak the next morning. He actually had to pick up the parts and bring it back the next following day but he did exactly what he promised me. And being a kindred for sometime it's kind a like having your own handyman. Another person that I like to recognize his Virginia. She's actually not a nurse but she's from the housekeeping team. I recall meeting her at another kindred Hospital and then meeting her again at this location. I didn't ask for too much just asked if she can get me an additional trash bin. A very simple request but she took care of it as fast as she could. My reviews might sound a little bit silly because I didn't write anything about the nurse. Sometimes other people need that five star. I see so many reviews about the nurses but other people deserve five stars too. On the same note all the nurses have been fantastic. Patricia G more

The Stars 2/20/2017

My 5 stars goes to the hard working nurses that took care of me. I'm sorry that I don't remember all your names but just wanted you to know that you are appreciated. J W Vestal more

My Care at Kindred 2/15/2017

I just wanted to highlight four nurses that have been above and beyond when it comes to their scope of work at kindred. I think that these four individuals deserve to be recognized for the care that they provided me. These individuals are Mickey, Ashley, Robyn, Kim (night nurse)Chris and Erica. Job well done for looking after me and just being there when I needed it. You were always alert and aware of my condition and anything that I needed. Other great kudos for the Kindred staff include Carrie, Jay, Doreen, Susan, Lyn, Cara, Donna, Stacy and Britney. Those are other key nurses and wound care team that exceeded my expectations. The entire staff has been very kind. Only suggestion that I could make to revamp the food. But nothing better than home cooking. Kathy Mullen more

All star team 2/9/2017

I've been to kindred many times before, a total of four times to be precise. The reason why I keep coming is because Dr. Warner who is my primary physician works there in the wound care department. The reason why I like Dr. Warner's because he's the first physician that Has actually prayed with me before I went to surgery. I never had any doctors do that before before and it actually touched my heart. He's a good man and a great doctor. We likes to joke around from time to time. My mom actually made blankets for his two babies. My mom likes to say that me and Dr. Warner have become more friends than just a patient and Dr. relation. Lol. He has been taking care of me for around 4 years now. Thank you for Dr. Warner for looking after me all the time. Coming to kindred for so many times this is the first time that they asked me to do a review. But the care that I got at Kindred has been great. I've never had a bad experience other than some food but a Hilario the kitchen boss takes care of me. Thank you to all the nurses and CNA. Jesse R more

To the world 2/8/2017

I came to Kindred from Huguely but didn't know too much about kindred. So I was a little worried about where I was going, not knowing what to expect. When I arrived, I found the transition was very smooth and very easy. The nurses have been outstanding in taking care of me. All the nurses have been friendly and kind. It's been a great experience to be at Kindred. All the nurses, Doctors and techs have been so friendly and helpful. Mickey who was one of my nurses on the fourth floor has been extremely sweet and caring. Every time I pushed the call light she would always come and see me and assist wherever I needed it. It's not a easy job to be a nurse as they require a lot of different skills to take care of people. They have to know what the patients needs for a fast recovery and also what medicine they require. A round of applause to all the hard-working nurses. Job well done. Another big thanks goes out to Brandy and Robert who works in the HBO department. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease when going into a chamber for the first time. If you never been in the chamber before it can be quite scary. But they were able to relieve and calm me down. If I had to come back to any hospital, I would choose Kindred. John Beaty more

My Choice 2/3/2017

I wanted to say first and foremost thank you to some of the most exceptional nurses working at Kindred. Nurses jobs are really rough. Every single staff member from Respiratory , PT, CNAs, Housekeeping, Dietary were helpful, friendly and of course the Doctor Moran was amazing. Although I'm not much into hospitals, Kindred SW managed to make me feel comfortable, took a genuine concern about my well being, and had the best bedside manner. Kindred SW will continue to be my choice and I will definitely recommend to others BWalker more

A Team 2/2/2017

I used to work in the medical industry before as a lab tech for Plaza medical center. I'm actually retired right now. But being in the medical industry is probably one of the most toughest jobs in the world. Because you have to deal with different people all the time and you just have to have a certain quality about yourself. Some of these qualities are people skills, patience and motivation in helping others. Those skills that I just mentioned do stand out in a lot of the staff and nurses that are working at Kindred hospital. I actually got to experience this from a patient perspective. Usually I was on the opposite end. Their team made my care and my stay a little bit more pleasing. Your staff is always friendly and nice, I don't recall any time I ever had any issue with any body. Robert from the HBO was very helpful and very easy to talk to you. Also the techs or CNAs there we're all outstanding. Techs are probably the most important people that you need inside hospital as they do a lot of the small work or general workload the nurses and doctors just don't do. A big round of applause for them. Also thank you Theresa for taking care of me. You always had a smile on your face which made me feel really good. James Russell more

Best Outpatient Wound Care service around! 1/31/2017

I had a podiatrist treating my for for about 10 years. Throughout that time I saw very little progress even though he told me that I was getting better. I wasn't receiving much as far as treatments go and I was actually informed by some nurses that I may lose my foot if I didn't look for a place that could provide better care. They recommended the wound care center at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. I called to make an appointment and began to see Dr. Werner. I almost immediately began to receive all kinds of treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infusion therapy and wound care services. Ive been coming here for about 6 months and have noticed a marked improvement in healing of my foot. The wound care and HBO areas are kept very clean and sanitary and the wound care team consisting of Bryan, Brandy and Robert always does a phenomenal job. They always keep an eye on me and it's not a cliché to say that they really do come together to provide excellent care for their patients. I probably would be entirely healed if I had come to Kindred first. Lloyd Morris more
