Life Changer! 8/2/2017

At first I didn't feel that this program was going to do as much as it has. I had always been a very active person before I became limited to only doing a few things because of my COPD. It got to the point where I really didn't feel like doing anything and I would use my condition as an excuse for not being active. I started coming to this program and I began to feel better and better the more I attended. My body began to feel good and I loved it! The therapists here, Ken and Tanya, are very nice and understanding. They have done so much for me and I really consider them friends more than my therapists. They always asked for my input during the program and that made me feel very comfortable. I feel like I can say anything to them. Now that I am near the end of the program, my life has changed so much and I now feel like I can do anything I want. I also want to say that I was using my oxygen throughout the day before (which I did not like) and all night but now I only need to use it at night which is wonderful! I would recommend this program to anybody needing pulmonary rehab. It has been great coming here and I look forward to it every time. Joann Z. more

Go Team Kindred 7/31/2017

This place is like home to me. I've been here a few times and I know a lot of the nurses by name. They are always really sweet and nice every time I'm here. I really love the two twins which do the x-rays. Everybody is really nice! The housekeeping lady by the name of Virginia is very amazing. She came into my room and actually clean my bed. She completely dismantled my bed and cleaned it very thoroughly. John, one of my nurses is a sweet guy. He's one that you can completely put your trust in and he can definitely make women feel very comfortable such as myself. Definitely very knowledgeable and knows a lot about nursing care. I also had a chance to meet their CEO down in the courtyard a while back. Very pretty lady. Great care at Kindred. Smith J more

Priceless! 7/19/2017

This pulmonary rehab program has meant the world to me and has changed everything for me. Before going there, I was diagnosed with COPD but I was sicker than I knew. I had gone to see my doctor, Dr. Maldonado, and I found out that I had a lung infection. He started me on antibiotics and referred me to this program at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. Once I started going there, I began to learn a lot about my condition. I used to stay home a lot before and I was unable to go out because I would always get so short of breath. My husband would have to drop me off at the front door of restaurants because I could not walk the distance from the car without getting short of breath. I also was not using my oxygen much but after attending these classes I began to accept that I needed oxygen 24 hours a day. The staff here made me feel that it was OK for me to wear oxygen. Ken, Tanya, Ron and Marty are priceless. They provided a lot of education while keeping things fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything is so different now. I now have the ability and the want to do both inside and outside activities as well as things that I wasn't interested in doing before because of my condition. They and the other patients there also taught me that I had a lot of options for my oxygen needs and they helped me get set up with a great portable oxygen machine that I didn't know was available to me. I am going to continue at home with everything that I have learned there but I am really going to miss going there. They have a great program. I have attended a pulmonary rehab program before but it was nothing like the one at Kindred Southwest. Linda P. more

Great Pulmonary Rehab Staff! 7/12/2017

I appreciate the staff as they are very caring and dedicated. They are an excellent group of educators and they are always very encouraging. Ken, Tanya, Ron and Marty are exceptional teachers and have helped me tremendously. They always make me feel like I am part of the team. I'm an ICU nurse and now I know what it feels like to be on the other side as a patient. I am more active now than I was before starting the program and I now use the skills and techniques that I learned to control my shortness of breath. I also used to panic when I became short of breath and this program has been instrumental in helping me control that anxiety. Pam C. more

Kindred 7/12/2017

I received great care at Kindred. Scared at first because no one really likes hospitals but the team helped to make it easy. Great programs that they have there especially the people who work in the departments such as Rebecca and Claire from physical therapy. Great support and motivation from them two. Alison who is a CNA and Zoe nurse are sweet. Really great program that they have which is the ambassador program. Sandy who was my patient advocate help me to resolve any issues or problems if I had one. Thanks for visiting me everyday. Hope I don't have to go back to any hospital but if I do, Kindred would be my choice. Charlotte Hicks more

Great Care 7/12/2017

I've heard of Kindred before but I've actually never been there. It's was first time to actually experience the whole service and care as a patient. During the first day of admission the process was very simple, I had my own room waiting for me during the check-in. The staff at the hospital have been very kind and caring. I never had any experience with anybody who was rude or anything. To be honest I don't have a negative experience to share as it has been all positive. One of the techs during the night shift was really helpful in helping me to get properly cleaned due to the hip surgery. I really appreciated that as I was very immobil. one of the stops that I do remember was Lawanda who is a nurse during the day she is very professional, kind and courteous. I don't remember everybody's names who works their butt everybody has been so helpful and kind. Definitely would recommend Kindred to my friends, family or those who just need help. Good Hospital 6/30/2017

If it wasn't for Dr. Le and Dc. Osafo I probably wouldn't be at Kindred. But these two doctors really did a great job in referring me to the right hospital for pulmonary rehab. I actually knew about kindred before coming as I used to be in the transport business, transporting patients from one hospital to another. So I wasn't too worried about going there. The care and treatment that I received there would definitely be one of the best that I can say. Their pulmonary program was outstanding as I learned a lot of things about myself from two great pulmonary experts. Alfred and Ron definitely know a lot. They taught me about different breathing techniques and signs to look for if if I think I'm going to have an attack. The prom in every class was definitely interesting as well as they helped me to better understand my breathing techniques and how to breathe more efficiently and effectively. They also provided me with a lot of information that I can take home and to better understand my condition. And final big thanks to Sandy Davis as she has been very helpful during this day. She was assigned is my patient advocate which is a unique program they have there. However she checked up on me daily just to see how I was doing and she help to address any worries and concerns that I might have during the state. And if there was anything she would help me to get it resolved as fast as possible. I really appreciate that and thank you Sandy for being such a great patient advocate. I think this program should be at every hospital because sometimes if there is a concern or even a complaint sometimes patients like myself you don't like to talk about it as we worried it could jeopardize the care. Top Notch Pulmonary Rehab Program!!! 6/29/2017

I have had an excellent experience here at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest's Pulmonary Rehab program. I used to be very active at the YMCA until I fell and broke a vertebrae and I was also afflicted with pneumonia. I then began to get pneumonia quite often. I started to become less active and it got to the point where I couldn't walk across the room without getting short of breath. My doctor became very concerned and sent me to pulmonologist Dr. Razack. He performed some tests on me and I was then diagnosed with emphysema. Dr. Razack referred me to this pulmonary rehab program and I began to attend about four months ago. I quickly began to realize my situation and learned that my condition could be managed. I gradually became able to do more things and I began use the information I learned here to challenge myself daily. Prior to attending, I was using my condition as an excuse for not being active. Then I learned that I can improve my condition with exercise. I began to increase my stamina and I was able to do more things before I became winded. I now feel much more confident and I'm able to cope with my situation much better than before. The pulmonary rehab team members here, Ken, Tania, Ron and Lanya, are wonderful and they truly treat you like a human being, not just patient. They really care that you do better and they are very knowledgeable. They were also very encouraging and they challenged me to do more than I ever thought I could. They are very optimistic and they would always boost my attitude. I am really going to miss all of them. Diane D. more

Five Star Pulmonary Rehab Program 6/21/2017

I've been attending pulmonary rehab at Kindred Ft. Worth Southwest for about 3 months now. Prior to that, I was unsure about my future and I had just about given up on doings things for myself. I began to hire people to assist with my groceries, walk my dog, and do my laundry and housekeeping. I even quit playing bridge with my friends. I then began to attend these sessions and I was surprised with the information that I was given regarding the level of improvement that I could reach by continuing to attend. I also met other patients in similar situations and I was pleased to hear them talk about how much they had improved while coming here. I almost immediately began to notice a difference and other people noticed this as well. I slowly began to do more things for myself and now I'm pretty much doing everything independently. My friends and my daughter are also very pleased with my progress. I recently went to a function with my daughter and granddaughter and my daughter stated "I have my mom back" and my granddaughter stated "And she has her personality back too!". The staff here has been wonderful and their personalities are a huge part of this program. They treat everyone individually and they are very motivational throughout the sessions. They are also very complementary toward all of the patients here. I am almost done with this program and I am going to miss everyone very much. Karen M. more

Good Place 6/20/2017

Not my first visit but my first review. The nursing team and the entire staff continues to surprise me with the care and service that they provide. Always outstanding to say the leaset. I have been to kindred multiple times and each time is always different but the care is usually very consistent. Great outstanding staff such as Jasmine, Robin, Carla, Richard and Belinda from the nurse and CNA team. I know they work very hard at what they do and it's definitely not an easy task looking after people. So way round of applause to them and the entire staff who I did not mention. You never really expect to give the housekeeping people some kudos however Theresa and Deeann Are two very dedicated people. They spend a lot of time ensuring the facility is clean and cleaning in areas that you would never suspect to be cleaned. Teresa is great as she does an excellent job and cleaning around my room. But the nicest thing is before she leaves she always ask do I need anything before going. Sometimes you get the housekeeping people who come in to do their job and clean and then just leave. Kudos to her! My overall judgment of kindred is outstanding. I guess this is the reason why I keep coming back for my care. Twylla L more

Great Place 6/16/2017

My husband was originally at Harris Southwest prior to coming to Kindred. Harris actually gave us a selection of hospitals to choose however we chose to do a tour at other hospitals before making our final selection. At the end we finally selected kindred. A gentleman by the name of Hector gave us a tour of the entire facility. He helped us to answer all the questions and concerns that we had prior to being admitted at Kindred. He was very helpful in providing information and any special requests or concerns that I might have. He definitely took his time in helping us. This is one of the main decision factors that encouraged us to go there. To find out after the tour we also met up with my daughters classmate. So we felt even more comfortable to be there. So when we admitted, my husband was directly admitted to the ICU floor. The nurses and techs have been so helpful and attentive to our needs and especially my husband's. The care has been very Progressive and I have seen improvements in his development. Knowing my husband he is a fighter and will continue to fight until the end of time. It's been a long journey and we still have a long ways to go period but we know that the care and service that has been provided has been terrific. My children are also very happy with the care that he has been receiving at the hospital. To conclude the entire therapy team has has done a lot to help in his recovery. Sometimes I wish he would just be a little bit more Cooperative with listening two people who really want to help him. And Hector who did the tour was also a helpful individual. And a special thanks to Crystal Foster for making our stay comfortable and most importantly the kindness that she has shown to my husband and the family. Caroline Jordan more

Good Work 5/30/2017

I've pretty much had the full service at Kindred because I've been coming to them for over a year-and-a-half now. The nurses have been fantastic as everyone knows me here by first and last name. Crystal is such a sweetheart who now works in the business office. She was my CNA when I was here as an impatient. But now I'm an outpatient at the wound care center for Restorix. My wound has healed about 95% and I am now just waiting for the rest of my heel to fully get better. Dr. Werner is very happy with the recovery and also myself. Bryan and Brandy have also been very helpful in my wound recovery. They are probably two of the most sweetest wound care nurses that I have worked with. Tamiquia who works as their reception knows my voice over the phone I never have to tell them who I am. How excellent is that? The care and hospiyality are phenomenal. I do miss John who used to work at the front reception and Kevin who was the valet. They definitely know how to treat people with kindness and respect. I definitely recommend people to come to Kindred either as an inpatient or as an outpatient. Shelley Ford more

A Warm Place 5/24/2017

Being so far away from home this place made me feel so welcomed! I can't express the great care I received! Thank you Todd, for being a great nurse and the whole rehab team, especially Carrie! Also Alfred from pulmonary was fantastic! Rob Richards always smelled good and his smile would brighten my day! Crystal from admissions always made sure I was comfortable and accommodated! Big shout out to Robert in rehab as well! This place has a really good team! Judy Dalton more

A Fantastic Team and Stay 5/23/2017

I just spent 3 weeks in Kindred and as much as I wanted to be home I can say that my time there was enjoyable. From my first welcome with Crystal to Robert, Brady and Ava in HBO I always felt like Kindred was going out of their way to make my stay comfortable. My physical therapy team of Tracy, Carrie, Robert, Irene, Clair, Marci, Rebecca, and Teressa pushed me (literally sometimes in my wheelchair ) and help me to get back to my old self! I had so many great nurses that I almost hated to leave. Mrs Debra, Karon, Mrs Butts are just a few I can remember and everyone of them were great and professional and help me so much. The techs like PJ and Abby were so great especially with helping me to get around in my wheelchair. (Im a big guy lol) I can't forget Doreen and everyone in wound care who helped to get my wound healed where I was able to go home early than expected. I sure can't forget Hector who came by my room everyday during the week to make sure everything was going great and if I had any questions or concerns he answered right then and if he didn't know the answer he found out for me. My case worker Chipo was great as well making sure that my transition to Kindred and from Kindred to home was as smooth as possible. Overall I don't have one complaint about Kindred. Even the food was pretty good. I would recommend Kindred for anyone looking for a hospital to help them to get back to normal. Thank you everyone at Kindred. I could never repay you for all you have done for me and my family! If I left anyone out I hope you know that it was not intentionally and to blame it on my mind and not my heart! Torrey Barber more

5 Star To Kindred and Restorix 5/17/2017

Kudos goes out to Bryan, Brandy and Dr. Warner at Kindreds outpatient wound care. I originally came in with three wounds and now down to only one wound which will be healed shortly within a matter of a few month, 1 or 2. But the care that I received has been outstanding and the hospitality from the team is phenomenal. As I have been going there multiple times they know exactly how to take care of me and what's needed to be done when looking after my wound. I definitely would recommend kindred outpatient wound care department Restorix to anybody looking for one care treatment. Job well done to everybody. Teresa Molder more

Quality of Care 5/12/2017

Dr Lisa has been outstanding and takes time giving me detailed information on my healthcare and the course of action that I need to take. She constantly keeps me updated every time I see her. She is definitely very gentile with the treatment to my wound. Hoping to have a speedy recovery. Bryan in the outpatient wound care has been terrific and is bedside manner are outstanding. He really goes above and beyond in his job. He knows what's he's doing and since I have been coming here so often he knows exactly what to do to make me feel comfortable. Job well done! And I would record anyone to Kindreds outpatient wound care. Pamela Ferguson. more

Great Team and Hospital 5/12/2017

5 Star for these people. Julia S. who was my night nurse has been outstanding. She seems to know when I need something without even having to push the call light. One of the nicest things about her is that she actually spends time with me. Treating me more than just the patient. Never in a rush to leave the room or to perform any duties that are expected but more on a personal level. Thanks for that kindness! Sha who works in the day and is one of my nurses has the very sunny disposition. Seems to be more so than others nurses, not necessarily a comparison however I spent more time with Sha than with any other nurses. One of the most toughest jobs inside a hospital is being a CNA. But Allison makes it look easy. Never complaining or in a rush to do her duties and I admire that and she seems to enjoy her job based upon my experience with her. PJ who is another CNA is great as well. Her attitude is very joyful. She seems eager to perform any duties that I might need help on, it could be either big or small but she's happy to help. Overall great experience and very eager to go home as Im still here. Lynda Monaco more

Great Place. 5/10/2017

It's been a great experience at Kindred. Something that I wasn't expecting from the very start. The reason why I say that is because Doctor Adamo has kept us very informed regarding the treatment for my mother. Providing us updated information and a care plan to better improve her health. At other hospitals that we have been too, we haven't been able to provide our two cents in regards to her health. Very appreciative of Dr. Adamo looking after her. Also a word of appreciation to Lawanda for the care that she provided to my mom. A very easy and warm check-in. Even though at times she isn't my mom's nurse show still come into the room to see how we are doing. Crystal who works in the business department has been very helpful and kind. She always has a big smile on her face and says if you need anything feel free to ask, I'll be happy to help. A very warm team at Kindred. Just keep up the great work that you're doing for the people that need your helping. Dr. Adamo if you're looking for additional patients to look after, Count Me In because I'm there! Good Hospital 5/8/2017

I live in the area so I know about Kindred and all the locations that they have. I was never really expecting to be admitted to Kindred but Klarus asked me to admit myself into a hospital so I chose them. Surprisingly the care and hospitality has been fantastic and the nurse has been very sweet. Their physical therapy has been a great experience but maybe a little too novice for me. Had some issues with food but they were able to take care of it. I would definitely recommend kindred. Glenda Stephens more

Kindred 5/4/2017

Dr Kupan actually referred me to Dr Bhatti since he is a pulmonary expert. After I went to see him Dr Bhatti he performed a CAT scan and they blood test. After reviewing the CAT scan results he called me directly and asked me to come to his office. We went over the results which he informed me that I had cystic fibrosis which is something that I definitely did not want to hear. He said if I don't act immediately to his suggestions and recommendations that my lifespan would be cut short. Such a surreal feeling to be told by your physician that I had cystic fibrosis. Kindred I was definitely met with a very warm and welcoming team. I was given my own private room which is very nice as sometimes as a patient you have to be bunk with another roommate. With it being my first time at this Hospital I was very nervous especially not knowing exactly what was going to happen or what they were going to do when getting me better. On the first day I was still somewhat out of loop regarding my care however the second day I was more updated with the information that I needed to know regarding what they were planning to do when looking after me. Alfred who is one of the pulmonary experts has been a blessing. Teaching me and educating me about my condition. He's very patient diligent regarding his experience and duties while sharing all that he can possibly can to help me. thank you Alfred for your kind support and motivation. Big round of applause to you. let me just explain a little bit more about Alfred and the reason why he's such a great person. He provides me with all the information that I need to know so then if I have any questions or concerns I could always ask him. Not all the time that this happens that every single hospital as they always tell you what you need to do with little questions left for you to ask. Thank you Alfred Cynthia R. more
