Blessed 11/18/2016

Kindred Hospital Southwest is unbelievable. My husband and I live in Amarillo Tx and went to Amarillo hospital because I had a wound on my lower leg that wouldn't get better. So my daughter who lives in FtWorth checked around to see where would be the best place for me and my husband. He was also needing some additional medical care. As soon as I was told about Kindred there was no hesitation I knew I made the best decision for the both of us. What a blessing it was when we arrived. The facility is beautiful, kept very clean. When I was taken to my room it was just a few minutes before everyone started welcoming us. While here we have made a lot new friends, the staff. Everyone has gone above and beyond. I remember faces not really names but one just stuck in my mind " Funke "she was awesome, she took really good care of me and my husband.Lamis is outstanding. Dr Le. is also amazing. The whole team at this hospital deserves a pat on the back. Keep a watch out for me, I'm coming back. Anna Stewart more

Grand Hospital 11/18/2016

I give Kindred 5 star because that's all it will allow me, my husband said 10. Wow, who knew I would be at Kindred hospital southwest again. Thank goodness they were able to have me a bed. Dr. Sadiq is one of my favorite doctor's I've ever had. There was a time that she moved her practice from Granbury, lost contact for a short time and then I received a invitation to her open house. I wasn't going to let her get away this time. Three years ago she took care of my husband here at Kindred. Irene the liaison with Kindred came to see me at Scott & White, made all the arrangements and saved me a lot of money. That is why I love this hospital, it's like home away from home. Today I'm leaving and it's a good thing but on the other hand sad. I will miss everyone that has taken great care of me and my husband since he's up here most of the time. Everyone he talks to he lets them know his experience here. All the nurses, Jackie, Callie, Linda, Lawanda are extremely dedicated to their patients. Romero one of the male nurses was teaching me a couple of things I can do at home. In order to get yourself stronger you need to try Kindred's Rehab there. Robert, Teresa, Eric are some who really helped me. This very pretty lady ( Lamis) that would come daily to make sure my needs were being met was a jewel. With this being said I can't express how much everyone at Kindred Hospital Southwest is going to be missed. Once you go to Kindred SW you will never go anywhere else. Jendorn more

My choice 11/17/2016

Being a patient at Weatherford Regional, my doctor had suggested that I needed to go to a facility to finish up on some antibotics. So my wife and I was given several choices of places I could go and once we had our decision made, I went to Kindred Southwest and have no regrets what so ever. The doctor that was assigned to my case is my savior, he's the best. The first time I met Dr.Allen we hit it off like old friends. He took time to explain what he was going to do. We talked about sports, especially football. The nurses had a nickname for me (Low Maintenance)because in the morning they would bring me a cup of coffee and at night ice cream. I've always known when you get a nickname it's a good thing. Erica, Kim, and Tammy just a few of my nurses, you three are super dooper great. My other buddy (Robert) in Rehab was also involved with the doctor and myself talking about sports I could get him going by mentioning North Texas. I'd like to say Joa in respiratory was also excellent at her job. Lamis who was my ambassador came by every morning just to see how I was doing. I loved joking around with her. I know I've left off many staff members names and I do apologize for not remembering the names. So I will say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your expertise RD Worth more

Great Care 11/16/2016

Great care at Kindred Hospital Southwest. I know that Kindred places patient care as a top priority. That's why I've been coming here for over 10 years. This time I would like to recognize some of the staff that has put up with me over the years and each one has always made me feel so special, Linda, Debbie, Barbara, and Gloria all charge nurses do a outstanding job. Some nurses Yidah, Jeff, Mel, Todd, Dorcas, Jay are just a few who stand out along with techs, housekeepers, rehab, dietary. When The time comes for my discharge I will miss my Kindred family. Your awesome !!! R.Keene more

I'm going home 11/14/2016

Dr.Le was the one who recommended Kindred Southwest to me considering I had never heard of Kindred. My purpose of coming to Kindred was I had a pacemaker put in and needed some extra time in the hospital and I also have COPD. The respiratory staff was superb. In order to build my strength up Robert with rehab would always come get me and help me get into the wheelchair we would be on our way to the gym. Tracy, Kari with rehab were just a few who worked with me. The entire staff has been exceptionally great. If I ever have to go back to a hospital I won't need my doctor to recommend one, I'll just say Kindred SW is my choice. Thank you all !! B.Shreck more

Kindred SW is my choice! 11/11/2016

I have been a patient at Kindred Hospital Southwest many times. That's why I keep going back. I always feel confident that I'm in the best of hands I have always been treated with the utmost professionalism and respect from each and everyone. My nurses Amy, Yidah, Sha, and Lila are just a few that provide awesome patient care. Also the staff in wound care is pretty awesome too. Dr. Allen and Dr Shashi are two of the best doctors. They provided me with very clear and thorough explanations of what my care plan would be. The lady with the gray hair(Virginia) made sure that my room was clean and it was a pleasure talking to her. She really knows how to clean. Also, with the ambassador program they have, it's a nice touch because you see them everyday, they spend time talking and making sure everything is going well. If not, they act quickly on it and resolve it the same day. I have had the pleasure of the same ambassador twice (Sandy). The respiratory team took time to explain how the bipap machine works and reassured me that it would be ok. I have claustrophobia and if they had walked away I would have just taken off the mask but they didn't. They stayed there until I felt comfortable. This is why Kindred SW is my choice of hospitals! more

Would wholly recommend Kindred Fort Worth Southwest 11/10/2016

I was admitted to Kindred Fort Worth Southwest as an inpatient and since released after a two month stay am now being seen at the outpatient wound care. The level of care and service has been outstanding! From the nurses to the techs, physical and occupational therapists the care, empathy and concern are unsurpassed. I would wholly recommend this facility for your acute care needs. Laurie W. more

My Story of Great People 11/8/2016

Just thought maybe a story would help others understand why I am giving kindred a five star. My daughter was actually the one who did all the research and decided that I should go to kindred. And we are happy that we made the decision to come here. So kudos to some key individuals that deserve to be highlighted for the outstanding work that they have done in taken care of me. Dr. Adamo who is my primary care physician at the hospital has done an excellent job in providing a great care plan and just visiting me every day to see how I'm doing. Some people who never really get to be in the spotlight is the housekeeping team. However Virginia who works in housekeeping department was very thorough and keeping my room nice and clean. Kind of felt like I was in a hotel. Thank you for doing such a great job. Mia who was my night nurse provided excellent care. If you're here make sure you ask for her as I am sure you will be happy as I was. Yidah who was my nurse during the day is another person who deserves a great kudos. Thank you for providing great care as well. One of the most difficult jobs in the hospital is being a tech because they have to help people do things that they just can't do. However Beverly who was my tech did it outstanding job by going above and beyond. She help me with a lot of daily task that I wasn't able to do. Jeremy who is the tech also deserves to be in the spotlight. I don't think I can say enough good things about him and it's kind of difficult for me to explain exactly what he did. However the overall hospitality and care that he provided was outstanding. I don't recall the team member who was in the rehab department but she did an excellent job. Just an overall five-star to that whole entire team. Apologies that I wasn't able to remember your name but kudos to you all. Jennifer who is an intern student who is currently working at kindred and going to the nursing program at Tarrant County College has very attentive to some of my needs. Thank you Jennifer for giving me painting my nails, I know it wasn't your duties but I really appreciate that as I'm stuck in a hospital. Would recommend Kindred to others. However don't take my word for it I think those who are considering or considering for a family should always come and do a tour just to see exactly what others are saying and thinking. Great Pulmonary Rehab Experience 11/8/2016

I've been attending the Pulmonary Rehab program at Kindred Ft. Worth Southwest since the 6th of September and I think that this program has really helped me a lot. Prior to this, I had many days where it was difficult to breathe and I found myself using my rescue inhaler more often. My pulmonologist Dr. Maldonado recommended this program because I was not doing so well on my breathing tests and he thought that this would really help me. Since attending, my stamina has improved and I've learned to breathe correctly considering my condition. I've learned to cope with my episodes of shortness of breath. Ken and Tanya have been great! They are very helpful, personable and they make exercising enjoyable. I am very impressed with the facility as it is very clean, bright and welcoming. The receptionist Nikki at the front desk is also very friendly and helpful. Jene D. more

My Experience 11/5/2016

Seeing so many positive reviews and now I know why. The entire team from the doctors, nurses and techs have been fantastic. I didn't meet one person that had a bad attitude. I guess it might be a internal cultural thing that spread throughout the culture of the hospital. Overall the experience has been great and met some really caring people including my roommate. From a nurses perspective, I assume it's not an easy job but we as patients really appreciate what you do. We will never really understand how difficult your job is but can only image it tough. Keep up the good work. more

My Thoughts 11/3/2016

I wanted to give a 5 Star to some key individuals who took care of me during my time at Kindred. These key individuals deserve to be highlighted because of their outstanding care and service. Lawanda who has gone above and beyond in her care not only for me but for my roommate. Not every time that you will see a nurse ask a patient if they want a warm cloth just to wash their face. To me that's a total sign of comfort and satisfaction not only for myself but for my roommate. She surely isn't afraid to do anything that needs to be done... Mia, who is my tech deserve some good Kudos as well. Some of the things that made her stand out is that she has the ability to follow up on her promises for example if anybody needed to shower she would always come back and not forgetting your request. She is also always on the ball as I see her pacing up and down the halls to assist other patients. She's a very friendly person and she's constantly smiling when coming to see me or my roommate. It's very important to have a good smile especially for patients who are not feeling so well. Melody who originally wasn't assigned to me was assigned to me today. I've never seen her once complain or slack off in her duties. She was always very diligent in her task most importantly ensuring that I was okay through out the day. She had no fuss at all even when she was assigned to look after multiple patients. Ebony who was my nurse during the evening shift when I first arrived was an outstanding nurse. She's just one of those kind of people that just by looking at her you can tell that she was on top of things including her task and ensuring that a patient felt the most comfort and best patient experience during their very first admission at the hospital. Thank you Ebony for making my very first impression of the hospital, comforting. And my final Kudos goes to Richard who was my nurs, he was very kind and followed up with tasks to be done. He also had a positive attitude with us which made it very comforting. more

Thank you to all the nurses 10/18/2016

It's not always easy to find caring people these days. As we know times have changed and people have changed drastically. However the care that I received at kindred has been outstanding and the nurses seem to really enjoy their job. I don't think I have met one staff who is working there that wasn't kind and courteous. Just thought I would share my appreciation for the care that I received through this review. You're dedication to patients is greatly appreciated by individuals like myself and others. keep up the good work. Jim Lee more

A Great Kindred 9/30/2016

It's my first time in kindred and I find that all of the services are excellent. Over the past two years I was at another hospital for around 14 months prior to coming to Kindred. Although I have been at Kindred for about a month I find that the overall care, service and staff have exceeded my expectations. Yidah was my first nurse when I came to Kindred. She was very professional and knowledgeable at what she does in wound care. If I had additional income I would surely hire her on a personal basis to look after me. I have two other favorite nurses who are Mickey and Lawanda. Lawanda seems to know exactly what I want and need without even asking. When I'm running low on beverages she's always there to look after me. And when I need my medicine she's always there on time as well. Mickey is my other sunshine as she is always prompt. My wound care team who has been looking after me during my time at Kindred is one of the best. more

My stay has been pleasant 9/27/2016

My stay at Kindred has been good and the entire staff at the hospital I've been very kind and respectful during my time there. They have a great pulmonary program and their instructors are very knowledgeable and what they do and try to help you out to the fullest of their ability. Thank you for all that you have done and I feel much better now than I did before. Dorothea T more

Thank you everyone 9/23/2016

This hospital is actually my favorite now. Their staff is very nice and courteous. I assume this is why they get a lot of five stars. There might be some people who don't like this place but that's understandable but I think they're five stars outweigh the negative. Dr. Alan really helped me through my progress and I feel more able to cope at home. George from the business office help me out a lot as he helped to call and renew my benefits at home. I don't recall one of the nurses there but she was so nice that she visited me with a great smile. Help to brighten up the day. Would recommend anybody to kindred. Glenda K more

My great care 9/23/2016

I was at another hospital before I came to Kindred. It's been a big difference between both hospitals and I do have to say that Kindred and their team have been very intuitive to my needs and understanding my care. I was admitted for wound care and found the service to be very excellent. All the nurses that work with me were very good and knowledgeable about my needs and the overall care that I received. Dr. Moran visit me daily and provided me reassurance about my care plan. Doctor Who is my best and good care physician was above and beyond in his service in very excellent at what he does. I couldn't stay and glad that I was at Kindred. Joe Hernandez more

A great team 9/19/2016

I have been to kindred a few times before but today is my first review. The nurses and doctors have been really nice and caring. They really have a great Hospital. Sometimes I wish I had my own room but it's OK to share with somebody else as it keeps you company during the stay. Their physical therapy team really keeps you motivated and helps you to keep moving forward. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, housekeeping and administration for all that you have done. I hope I don't have to see you anytime soon but if I do I know where to go. more
